  • There are 12 movies in the Friday the 13th franchise, too many for us both to agree on a single ranking list, so we had to make two lists!

Well here's my ranking I do love my Friday the 13th movies. 12 Jason takes Manhattan or should really be called Jason takes a boat to Vancouver. 11 for me would have to be Jason goes to hell it just didn't feel like a Friday the 13th movie to me. 10 Freddy versus Jason only reason why I'm raking it like this is because it feels more like a nightmare on elm Street movie then a Friday the 13th. movie. 9 Friday the 13th 3D I mean I like the fact that Jason gets his hockey mask and there was a couple good kills in this movie but the special effects were horrible and the acting was terrible.8 Friday the 13th part 5 the beginning this had quite a few problems but there are more forgiving than the other movies. The one character I really do like in this movie was little Reggie. 7 Jason x Kane hodder did a really good job one of the best kills in the franchise was in this movie.6 Friday the 13th the new blood I think this was the best performance of Kane hodder as Jason but I think this would have moved up higher if the kills were not water down. 5 the og the original Friday the 13th it started it all it's a classic in some weird way I think Pamela Voorhees is more scary than Jason.4 Friday the 13th part 2 everything they did in the original they did a little better in this movie.3 the Friday the 13th remake I love the Jason I love everything in this movie. these to kind of go back and forth between 1 and 2 as of right now number 2 Friday the 13th part 4 the final chapter this movie was like perfect 5/5 for me and my number 1 for me is Friday the 13th part 6 Jason lives perfect another 5/5 for me.

Thanks for sharing your ranking! That's definitely an interesting order, never did we think we'd see Jason X above Part 3 😂 But that's the fun thing about this franchise, there really isn't a wrong way to rank these films. I think when we explore the Nightmare on Elm Street films, Freddy Vs Jason might fare a bit better because like you said it is more of an Elm Street story.
We always love seeing Friday the 13th 2009 getting some appreciation! We rewatched it not too long ago actually, it's a great film.

I like Goes to Hell it's a fun horror movie B film but not a good Jason movie. I don't hate any of the Friday movies. None of them are well written they are all just B movie camp popcorn entertainment. This is why critics hated and continue to hate them because they are just specifically for entertainment alone. This is the same thing with the Fast and Furious franchise it's a dumb fun popcorn movie franchise except based on action and not horror.

You're completely right, and sometimes if a films only purpose is to entertain, there's nothing wrong with that. Even the worst of the Friday films are entertaining. Not too long ago we re-watched Part 3 in 3D and we had such a good time with it!

Thanks for the comment! We debated for ages on what Friday film to watch tonight, we watched a fair few when researching the video, we landed on the 2009 remake 👌
Part 6 gets bonus points for having a bangin' Alice Cooper song on the soundtrack.

Great to see Parts 3 & 5 getting some love! It's also extremely rare to see Jason X so high on someones list, much respect!

@@ycft Thank you so much. I have a lot of fun with Jason X. It's cheesy and I'm here for it.

I'm glad to see someone else show Part 3 some love. I had the movie on VHS in 2004 ( I was four). I watched it so many times that I burned the tape. My top three are interchangeable depending on the day. If you put a gun to my head, this would be my ranking: Part 6, 3, and 4.

@@LouisianaSports-t4b David has a very vivid memory of owning a VHS that he watched so much that the tape snapped, for a 9 year old it was the most devastating experience 😂
We'll be continuing to fly the flag for Part 3, we recently watched it in 3D and it was so much fun! What would be at the bottom of your list?

@@ycft The New Line movies are easily my least favorites: Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X. The original and Freddy vs. Jason are also down there. People hate the 8th movie, but I find some enjoyment in it, even with the stupid ending.

I always had a soft spot for part 3 because it was the first one I saw as a kid that got me into the films. I have a hard time picking a favorite between the first 4.

@@Fedorevsky I think we're going to track down Jaws 3D next, we do have the 3D version of Freddy's Dead, but that only has 10 minutes of 3D scenes

@@ycft Yeah, I watched Freddy's Dead in the cinema when it was new. It was the first Nightmare on Elm Street I watched in the cinema. My dad took me to see it. I was so disappointed by the 3D being so brief. Also the 3D is not very good, lol.
Jaws 3D is a guilty pleasure of mine. Like Friday 3D it was the first Jaws I saw.

I get it that’s how I feel about Halloween 4. If was my first horror film. Thank God it was a good one! Otherwise I might have grown up not a horror fan.
