I'm playing pure water Icejade for months now and while I didn't even optimized it for competitive it's still doing better than I thought it would, recently trying to not lean too much on it tho as my channel got a bit dominated by Icejade replays than other decks.
I live icejade deck but i also like kairyu shin board lock but the two types even though water they hurt each ither as both have specfic purposes. Netherless icejade gymir is a great card even for snake eye decks if used when they put flambergs or princess it stuns there whole deck Im suprised you dont add 1 barrier statue for good counter measures or that draw 2 water ur that banishes one, as you can get it back anyway
Ran aegirine basically pumps a synchro 10 out for free as long as you can discard a water monster. Can work as a mini engine for marincess to push out a free Gymir, tear I’m not too sure about. I run Gymir in Mannadium due to meek being a water tuner. The chain banish/protection you get from it along with its ability to recur to the field, I think it’s a great card personally
As far as I'm aware, not really. I remember one of the major selling points for Icejades was that it's an archetype that generically helps WATER decks. I don't think it could really achieve that status if it locked you into something - and all the Icejades I've had experience splashing into decks don't have locks (example: Tremora in my old Crystron list, before I figured out that Crystron/Spright/Frogs was the way to go)

Aside from coral anemone, is there any special summon lock for this deck? Seems like icejade is splashable in tearlaments or marincess deck.

As our friends said, the only locks are Ran and Anemone! And Anemone lock is also good for Zealantis!

You can play them pure, combined with Tearlaments as well as with other water decks. I have seen that Atlantean Icejade is really solid.
