    Hi Lauren. I'm 330 lbs. I'm also diabetic and the doctor just prescribed mounjaro for me for both diabetes and weight loss. I let my prescription sit at the pharmacy afraid to pick it up. Seeing this video has convinced me to start it. Thank you for sharing with us.

    Lauren both my husband are on the second one you mentioned. my husband for type 2 diabetes and my daughter for weight loss. These are amazing new drugs they work extremely well. The side effects go away don't lose hope. Not only has my husband lost weight (which he needed to lose) but his blood sugar numbers are amazing. My daughter who had 6 pregnancies 3 of those were lost then had twins. Her body and her mind went to hell and back. She gained so much weight that I hardly recognized her. She has lost lots and still has more to go. Good luck

    My brother is doing something very similar (or maybe it’s the same medication) and it has been very helpful to him. He is classified obese (6’4” and about 375ish pounds). He has been taking the medication for about a month now and has lost about 25 lbs. no side effects other then lack of appetite. Lots of water and definitely protein is helpful. Good on you for taking control. I am on Ozempic and have been for about 18mths. I find I do feel nausious like morning sickness. I find that food is not a priority in my life. I don't worry that I have missed a meal. But doesn't really interest me. Hang in there it will get better and you don't feel nausious. I feel it is a chemical imbalance is why we keep seeking food even though you are not hungry. There is a shortage of Ozempic in Australia at the moment and is very hard to get.

    Mounjaro is amazing.. not only does it help with appetite suppression.. it makes you stop think about food/bingeing. I’ve yet to have nausea and I’ve been on it for months.. but I will say sulfur burps are a common side effect.. they’re the worst but if you take a quick swig of pepto bismal they go right away. When giving yourself the injection jusy listen for the second click .. that’s the needle retracting no need to hold it after that… good luck! It really is life changing

    I hope it works for you. But my only issue with people using diabetic meds for weight loss is that it can cause a shortage and diabetics may have trouble getting a constant supply which is a real issue cause you need to stay on the same med. I am type 2 diabetic insulin dependent. Went on keto and lost 120lb for 4 years but as life goes put alot of it back on last year. I actually got off insulin but recently had an episode of diabetic ketoacidosis which landed me in ER. I can no longer take my oral meds so am back on insulin which causes abdominal weight gain. I want to go onto Ozempic but am worried that I won't be able get a constant supply because of people getting it for weight loss. Anyway as I said I hope it works for you. But just thought I'd highlight this knock on effect. PS From my understanding of how the drug works it's weight loss effect comes from 3 factors 1. Initial adaption phase where nausea and dioreah means your caloric intake is less. 2. Slow down of digestion of food 3. Normalised blood sugars. I think food will only sound unappealing for a time until you adjust to the side effects of the drug.

    • @kerrigank314
      @kerrigank314 Год назад +1

      Exactly. This is why people who aren't pre diabetic/ diabetic really shouldn't be using it because it's taking away from people who truly need it!

      This is exactly the same scenario my wife ran into. She’s T2D and has been on Ozempic for two years and now cannot get it due to a nationwide shortage because doctors are prescribing it for obesity. She had to switch to Mounjaro recently and now has to start all over with the side effects. There should be separate stock for those who need it as a diabetic and those who want it for weight loss.

    I just wanted to leave a comment to say that you're brave for getting as vulnerable as you did in this video. It's taboo for even thin people to share their weight publicly. If anyone sees your raw honesty in this video and decides to say something negative to you, their opinion should hold absolutely no value because it takes a really cold-hearted, nasty person to see someone being vulnerable and to choose to be hurtful in response.

    I get it! I am way overweight for many, many years. I hate weighing myself and I won't tell anyone my weight. Mind you, here goes the excuses, I am 68 years old, I had five children and I don't eat properly. I have lost and gained many times over. I have never found a diet that is sustainable. I self sabotage and I am also defensive. My ex husband used to call me names, my father tells me I'm fat, like I don't know already and then I don't want to lose weight and convince myself that I am happy the way I am. You do you Lauren, to tell or not to tell is entirely up to you. Big hugs to you!

I have PCOS and facial hair and have a hard time losing weight even on Keto. Girl I know you're struggle and what you are doing is great! I wish you the best in your journey and I love this for you! Oh and if people stretch their stomachs after bariatric surgery there is a pouch reset that you can do by going back to a liquid diet and progressing back to regular foods in a week. 😉 So far I am happy with my surgery so we will see how it goes. 30lbs lost in 4 weeks.

    my weight spiraled out of control after having a baby. sent me home with a few pamphlets and told me to do my research...plus with the small task of losing 2-5lbs. i go back on the 13th to make my decision. videos like this help me so much 😅

    I tried exam pack and I've got the worst stomach ache ever. I am major sensitive to medication's. I can only take half of what they say pain, medicines or anything like that. I had to gastric bypass and please do not do it! I traded four different problems with four more different problems, and if I could just sit down and you and I could be friends and have coffee together and talk to you about it. I'm glad you're going to go this route and I hope it works for you. I have been on different medication's for weight loss and nothing seems to work for me so I'm really hoping it works for you. Honestly, I really am.❤️

    I’m so excited for you! Can’t wait to follow your journey. I started seeing mounjaro all over TikTok recently. I already had my heart set on bariatric surgery and had gone through most of the long approval process for my insurance. Had my sadi duodenal switch surgery in September. I’m so glad there are options out now to help so many people. Thanks for always being transparent and real. You got this!!

    I weigh 190lbs and I’m 5ft 2inches I’ve been struggling to lose weight and keep it off since puberty and I’m now 60. I lost weight in my mid 40s but gained it all back plus more when going through menopause. I just really don’t know what to do. I’m overwhelmed and don’t even know where to begin. I just wanted you to know your not alone.😁

    I shoot mine in my thigh. I feel like when I shoot it in my stomach I get sick.
    I was recently diagnosed with type 2 and am overweight. I lost 30lbs so far. Reversed the diabetes.
    Good luck!
    Oh and make sure you are eating proteins! Hair loss can be a real B with extreme weight loss. I have lost so much hair. Don’t mean to scare anyone but it can be shocking and the Drs don’t tell you about that part!
