What do you think of the Blue Yeti microphone? Is it worth the $130 price tag?

The pink one is $94 now and I just ordered mine on Amazon 😬

I don't get why you are holding each other mic next to your mouth and have the blue yeti an arm length away. of course it sounds worse

I've used the Yeti since 2012 and not an issue as a podcaster. Yes it has the ability to pick up ambient sound but if you adjust the gain and sit close enough to it, it will pickup similarly to the ATR mentioned here. It's certainly not for everyone but I have one of the THX certified originals before bought by Logitech. It still sounds better than a lot of podcasters I've recorded with over the years. Would I buy another one? Debatable but I also have a Mackie USB-C EM-USB microphone and it sounds comparable with many of the same features. If you record in the correct atmosphere it sounds good. But if you don't have a packed room or things that block other sounds, I can see skipping the Yeti.

Thanks for video. Is there a decent omnidirectional xlr mic out there? I want to start recording podcasts with multiple people and thought Yeti would be decent but worried about background noise. Would I be better with two or three mics?

Very good video, thank for this ;) The AT2100 sounds like better for podcasting :)

I haven't had a Blue Yeti before the same thing as karaoke.

I find this video false information. I’ve used a Yeti since the Snowball, graduated to Blue and never had an issue with either one. Unless you’re some big shot podcaster, the Blue Yeti will be just fine. In addition, sound editing makes a difference. I use garage band and was able to change the sound of my podcast from dull to bright quickly. Also, having the right setting on the Blue makes a difference.

      @@Buzzsprout Patronizing response. Not cool

@@OneDrunkenLizard Sorry if that came off as patronizing! There definitely are some podcasters that get great sound out of the Yeti, but in our opinion it is harder than with a dynamic mic. We do appreciate you sharing your perspective!

@@Buzzsprout Part of the issue is all the photos show them talking to the wrong end of the condensor.
