Does Logitech's software include some of the features that Elgato provides with their's? Or does Razer remain the only one smart enough to at least try? Every USB microphone manufacturer should copy that stuff ... in fact, Blue should have been the first, since their microphones are so legendary in the streaming and youtubing spaces.
Nobody speak about the fact that almost all the audio files ALWAYS SHOULD BE NORMALIZED in the edition process because the mic's sensitivity is too low and you won't be able to hear anything if you don't do that, as customers we feel cheated by brands and reviewers because we don't get the same results that you're getting when we spend hundreds of dollars getting the products that just don't offer a nice quality audio without artificial enhancement.

Oh... Do you have a private channel for bearded ASMR?
Will the Blue Software help for say... CSGO voice comms? Or Discord to help yourself sound better? Or those rely on their own codecs and can't help it?
The mic will be processed by the Blue software and that processing will make it through Discord and CSGO voice comms. It's like using EqualizerAPO on any other mic.
Great video! I'll add that those EQ parameters should not be copied by anyone as they are shown in the video. They work for that specific voice in that specific room on that specific microphone. For my voice, in my room, on my mic I do the almost exact inverse of that. If one doesn't know what they're doing, they could do more harm than good, so in some cases it's best to leave the EQ alone, but otherwise trial and error a bit and adjust to taste.
Best tip: Don't get a condenser mic if you don't have a sound treated environment. Dynamic mics better reduce background noise so it won't pick up the vacuum cleaner 3 rooms over.
Just remember that noise gates have their limits. Nothing annoys me more than someone trying to filter out fan noise for instance that then however still gets picked up every time they talk and they've adjusted the noise gate to be so aggressive that it clips the beginning and end of their speech speech as well. In such a situation where there is something super noisy in the environment I'd rather just learn to live with it, I feel that sounds a lot better to have the noise be constant than randomly cutting in and out behind speech.
To be honest I’ve found swapping to XLR microphone and sound interface is much better than using usb microphones but then again I’ve got to swap between Windows and Mac with the microphone and using a usb microphone was absolutely horrible with Mac’s
@@HardwareCanucks A decent solution can be getting a hybrid mic like the Yeti Pro and investing into additional gear later. It remains true, however, that it mostly is too expensive. I doubt that it will be worth the investment for most people. Technically better does not mean more sensible in the end.
Is there a recommendation for a good software to use with an Interface plus xlr mic? I just fell in love with the simplicity of the blue voice software. Is there sth universal I could buy to have the same functionality with my audio Interface setup and xlr mic?
Thank you for a comprehensive run down of the G Hub. I only discovered it recently despite owning my Bue Yeti for nearly 2 years. My audio has never sounded better. One small tip for windows users- if you have low volume no matter what settings you have on the microphone - check your pc's sound settings. Go into Sound - and make sure you have the output level slider pushed up. Mine was set way too low. This also get reset when ever you do a windows update. Have fun 😎😎
Dimitri! Great and Hilarious Video as always. I'm not a Standalone Mic user but these were all super useful. Let me just say the Video thumbnail and your last few video edits in particular have been great with drops of cheeky Wit and good laughs. Keep it up, Merry Christmas and Happy New year!
I don't understand this thing about not being able to hear your own voice while wearing closed headphones. Even if you completely block your ears, you can still hear your own voice. I've always just found monitoring confuses me while I'm talking. What am I missing?
The blue yeti is a cardioid mic, which is a terrible choice for streaming. Its picking up every little sound, especially from the keyboard. You also need lots of audio treatment for your room, it sucks.
That's why some go with shotgun mics but most still go with cardioid condenser mics. Maybe even a linear switch for a quieter keyboard or they just talk louder with a high noise gate.
Is there a recommendation for a good software to use with an Interface plus xlr mic? I just fell in love with the simplicity of the blue voice software. Is there sth universal I could buy to have the same functionality with my audio Interface setup and xlr mic?
Without watching the video but I bet the following: #1 Get your Mic closer to your mouth #2 Either angle your mic away from your mouth to avoid plosives or get a pop filter #3 Put a limiter onto the mic channel to even out the volume #4 Decouple your mic from the desk with a mic arm or a rubber surface #5 get a new mic :D
@@czarkowskipawelyt nope I didn't. Thats a tip that I would probably never use. "Just drown out your existing noise with another different noise"... Great idea, but does this fix the problem? XD
Yeah I just use it for Teams anyway which compresses sound a lot so it does not matter much. However I do wish Windows will come with better mic settings like shown in this video by default. I cannot install this on my work pc.

Is there some kind of windows settings that I need to get rid of? When recording with voice im using premier pro.
Please avoid using the cheapest ones, those springs will bother you sooner than later. Rode PSA-1 is basically endgame for boom arms because of the freedom of movement it gives, also consider using the Gator Frameworks if you have a heavy mic. It’s a good investment
PSA-1. If possible, go with a wall mounted (or mount the psa-1 on the wall) one or with a mic stand with a boom arm because there’s always going to audio picked up from your desk (assuming you’ll be at your desk). Also never hold your mic for live situations and do your best to never move it during streams.
Thank you for the video! Noob question....After you install Blue Voice and apply the EQ changes for a Blue Yeti mic, do those effects stay after you exit the software, or do you need to always have it running in the background? Just want to make sure I'm sounding my best during conference calls/meetings etc.
Great content as always. Most of these I already knew or used in my daily recording I use in my stream and on my YT.. however with the amount of people working remotely at home, or people just getting into computers and live streaming, these tips are priceless. Great job!
but what about using speakers and not headphones? so a setup working in Teams meetings for example? even worse setup: using a laptop for these meetings. I'm looking for options to improve my wife's meetings she is doing a lot of meetings on her laptop, but the microphone is so sensible, all the noises are recorded. so I want to setup a good mic with the laptop's speakers turned on.
You risk the mic picking up the speakers and causing feedback which is the worst result you can have or others at the meeting hearing a delay of their own voices picked up through that mic which will be immensely annoying. Using headphones /ear buds instead of speakers solves those issues which is why in ear monitors are so much more popular now with live sound. It's not impossible, but there are risks.
@@paulboulter3726 I'm thinking about a lavalier microphone. but yeah... the sound may not be good. the integrated microphone is able to compensate for the speaker sound correctly, but any sound is fully captured, any keyboard's type etc... just looking for a better setup. so maybe a lavalier microphone. but I'm not able to find test / reviews based on this type of setup, I dont know why because its common these days... my wife's tried some earbuds, but she dislikes that (as well as other headsets), this limits my options.
I immediately went and looked at G Hub for my Yeti mic. Couldn't get it to detect (although it did want to import and migrate me away from Logitech Gaming Software, which I use for my G-13, the long-abandoned product from Logitech... to which I said NO). So, after talking with Logitech tech support.... it does support the Yeti mic, but not particularly old ones yet with old firmware. So if you have an old Yeti mic it may not work with Blue Voice yet (or ever, I guess, if they don't make the old firmware work with it).
can't use "blue voice" unless you also happen to burden yourself with a "blue" microphone and ALSO are fine with submitting to the software terror that is logitech g-hub. how stupid. It's like they're trying to compete with HP for the worst accessory support software in existence.
