I just rented one of these from Enterprise for 9 days. It was silver over black leather and just gorgeous!! I drove 2,483 miles through 5 states. My impression? I am 5'10" and 280lbs. The seats are comfy, ventilated and heated. The rear seats are heated only as is the tilt/telescope steering wheel. They are all day comfy. The audio system and navigation is great but the back up camera illuminates BRIGHT when backing at night and will startle your eyes. The ride is dead silent... on new or smooth pavement but drones loudly and gets quite overwhelming on rough or textured asphalt. The 3.6 liter V6 was smooth and quiet and turned an average of over 29MPG on the highway. This car will cruise at 80MPH with the tach on 2K. It is really all the power this Caddy needs. The trunk is deep and very roomy, the trunk release slowly raises the trunk just by hitting the trunk badge. The interior mood lighting illumination is gorgeous. All controls are easy to read and find but I found that my hand naturally fell to the window controls for the rear doors. The LED headlights, tail lights, and approach illumination look rich and tasteful. Honestly, the only nuisance I had was my radar detector cord would touch the dash audio controls and turn the radio up and down constantly. This was alleviated by turning the cord outward from the lighter socket. I would highly suggest this car if you're shopping for a luxury sedan. The materials and switchgear feel substantial and responsive. Note - mine was a rental and didn't have blind spot monitoring, a sunroof, or other top line features.
Kenny C I don’t know if the rear view camera illuminating BRIGHT is a bad thing. One nuisance I certainly have with new cars and their tech is what’s the use of features if you can’t use them? In example a back up camera that you can’t see anything out of at night? I’m glad Cadillac put some useful reverse lights on their vehicles. That’s actually a big deal for me. Thanks for your review though! You should rent the 2018 CT6 and then tell us what you think about that car.
I love my 2018 xts but I hate the cue display because you have to take your eyes off the road to make sure your hitting the button the new ones have a knob on the console you can switch thru the functions with a hud that would be perfect
Mateo12485 I've noticed that a lot of these self appointed internet car "journalists" really do not know what they are talking about. I watched another review from this guy and he was completely wrong in information he provided. The internet is a cess pool of misinformation.
Because this car replaced both the DTS and STS sedans, some journalists probably believed these were midsize cars, especially since this car slots between the former two in size.
Yo', a vehicle that is OVER 200 INCHES LONG !!!! -- you call THAT "midsize?" In that case, where would a FULL SIZE SEDAN start at? At 250 inches of length?
Man, I can't decide between white, black or silver. White and silver hide the chrome very well, which I really dislike chrome. But the black makes it look classy.
Wow, turning on this car, the chime starts banging.... so loud in fact, it will likely wake up the stiff in your trunk you put on ice the night before. Huge gear shift lever sticking out, very disturbing and pedestrian (Lincoln had done away with that in favor on-dash buttons). The center console around and below the LCD screen, it is harsh ultra-reflective piano black so your eyes will be bothered, no matter what the lighting is on the outside. Still, a very refined vehicle form Caddy. Too bad the last model year they had this for was 2019.
I have a question regarding the sideview mirrors for this particular year / model. Is there a feature that automatically folds / unfolds them when entering and exiting the vehicle..?
*Cadillac should have made their basic safety system the Driver Awareness Package STANDARD on any XTS. To charge this much for a luxury vehicle and then ask me for another $1600 for safety features standard on a Genesis is outrageous. All that leather and wood won't help you like those safety features can, and it says a lot about how Cadillac feels towards their customers to charge them for features that may save their lives yet are standard on other cars. No thanks.* 🖕😠👎
i sat in this car. it almost hurt my legs with the automatic seat moving. Also, I am 6 ft 6 tall. i was NOT able to sit in this car because of lack of head room. i adjusted everything possible. nice compact luxury car. couldnt drive it comfortably. sad car.
At nearly 7 feet tall, it's likely MOST cars would not be considered comfortable. I'm 6'1, and the XTS is one of few cars I tested that provided sufficient front seat leg room. At your size, you might consider a luxury pickup truck...
66, you need to get a ragtop CONVERTIBLE and keep the ragtop folded down at all times. That should do the trick with giving you adequate headroom. AFAIK, Caddy no longer makes ragtops, however.
California 4$ :gallon Full tank 50$ Caddies needs fill up every 250 Miles... Shocks are not goods very bumpy.. Steerings is light heavy. Buy a lexus with Same price...

Wantings to buy a white or blue one with less than 35,000 miles with sunroof.
I bought mine 3 months ago and love it.
Do you still have it?
It's not mid size, it's full size.

Wow! The XTS is astonishing! Cadillac has come quite a long way since the 80s and 90s. Mercedes who?
2:24 Sorry, I'm hearing the VERY loud GM start-up chime.
Deafening. Or maybe he just had a super sensitive microphone on the camera.
Nice review but why do feel like you were rushing it?
midsize? it's full size

Cadillac probably considers it to be their mid size sedan, with the CT6 being the large sedan.
@@northtexasfan No, it does not. You must be with Camerons.

Made it from looking dated to futuristic. Nice Cadillac!
201" length is midsize? I don't think so.

The XTS is a full size sedan not a mid size sedan

Sitting there in Europe and waiting for US Cars to finally be sold here...
You could get the CTS and can get the CT6 and soon, the CT5 sedans in select countries in Western Europe, AFAIK. Probably in Russia also.
Thinking of trading my 2013 Taurus SHO in for a 2018 XTS - Thanks for the review
Is that the Norfolk airport rental car area?
Good job!

You have to use your key fob for that
It looked like a cadillac ct6
will it qualify as a uber
Ya lol
Oh yeah!

If you cant afford to spend 4$ a gallon on a Cadillac you need a get a Prius or some cheap eco car.
