    I own a 2016 XTS. I now have 95000 miles. The engine and transmission are bullet proof. GM did a great job with this car. I do the recommended maintenance and it has been trouble free. It runs as well today as when i first purchased it. The cadillac mechanics at the dealership said the powertrain should get 200000 easily. They work on alot of XTS that are used as livery cars, many of them have 300000 on their gage. The one issue that plagues these cars are the shocks from the magnetic ride control system. I replaced mine at 80000 miles. I had a local mechanic do it for 800 bucks, the dealership wanted 2000. If you dont want to replace the magnetic ride shock,you can buy much cheaper ones and install them. Doing so however might effect the ride quality. The magnetic ride system is one of the real gems of this car. I really love my XTS..

      It's very true about livery vehicles, these were extremely popular with limo companies and would have been driven long.

    Great review….
    My son bought a 2017 XTS (white tri-coat) when he finished university 2.5yrs ago. Bought it from an old guy with 20,000km on it. Mint & beautiful car.
    Last weekend we carefully disassembled the centre dash & replaced the CUE screen that failed. The aftermarket replacement screen worked flawlessly. Car is back to perfect now…..

      Very nice! That’s one downside to this era of Cadillac, the infotainment systems are buggy. Did you end up going with an OEM-look for the replacement, as in it fits into the space CUE occupied?

    I recently purchased a pre-owned 2013 Cadillac XTS and fell in love. The issue with the glovebox is a problem with all XTS's. Shortly after I bought it, the glove box sensor would go off without touching the button and the glovebox would open. This happened numerous times and story short, the extended warranty company paid for the repairs, parts and labor, and I paid my standard $100 deductible. Obviously the glovebox is an issue with the XTS and I have 85,000 miles on it which is not bad for an 11 year old vehicle. Otherwise, love the ride and handling and gets really good highway mileage.

    My brother in law has the 2017 fully loaded XTS with just over 22,000 kms. It still looks beautiful and rides fantastic. AWD version which I say is a great addition. Plus the cooled seats are actually cooled seats. They are not ventilated type like all the new ones use.

      Super low mileage, nice! The facelift with the updated Cadillac crest is definitely the way to go, I'd constantly mistake those for the CT6 when I had that car.

    Nice car and great review! This reminds me of the low mileage Lacrosse I bought recently. Same engine and body I believe. Comfortable with a smooth ride. The V6 in it is surprisingly quick. It does 0-60 in about 6 seconds. Not too shabby for a 4000+ lbs car!

      Thanks! We really liked the final LaCrosse generation when we drove it in 2019, and I believe you're right it is the same platform as this. It's too bad Buick has gotten out of the sedan game as we were impressed with both it and the Regal GS.

    I had a client that passed away and i get a 2013 xts with only 28k on the odometer. I think it’s the luxury version one to or the middle of the road one was clean as a whistle. I’m gonna do all fluid change on it and have it looked at, but it’s ready to go. He gave it to me

      Can't go wrong with that! Full tune up sounds like a good idea, low mileage vehicles may have time-based maintenance that needs to be done so they can sometimes cost more. Hope it works out well for you!

    I enjoyed your review and felt compelled to add a comment. Well, I'm in my 6th Cadillac and my 3rd time with the XTS! I lost my previous one through hardships, but bought one just like it 5 months later. I have the Metallic Adriatic Blue, with shale interior, just like the last one, but this one has a matching blue ragtop. It's an awd and local driving, back and forth to/from work gets me near 20 miles per gallon avg, with my best highway mileage at 35.1 per gallon. Btw, the engine is a 3.6 V6 with the Luxury trim package. It currently has just over 53k miles and is smooth as well as quiet. I did a good review and found out that the 2016 is the better among the crop.

      @@PRNTestDrive Man, that's cool...No doubt you're in the Cadillac club...You notice every one of them while out and about like the rest of us. The blue color is not the ordinary navy metallic...it's noticeably different. I am very happy with the car and will get another vehicle in the near future so that I can preserve this one while driving the other a lot more. I'm not a truck, or SUV type so those are ruled out.

What's hilarious is that a lot of ppl don't think it's mine, so occasionally, I'll walk around it (noticing them watching me) and after I do a 360°, I'll pop yo door with the remote....lol. one thing that I'd like to point out is I don't make a god out of it (idolize it).....THAT'S when you lose it. I purchased a 2014 XTS in 2017 with only 55k miles but about a year later (2018) I saw a rebate ad for Mazda6's, where Mazda was offering a huge incentive rebate on the 2017 model year so I bit at the bait and dumped the Caddy. The Caddy was alright I guess at first but after a while seemed a little stogy for a 57 year old like me. I was ready for something a little more sporty & fun. Anyway, fast-forward about three years later a co-worker of mine at a new job I had just started just so happened to had purchased the exact same Caddy! I rode in it a few times to travel to our work-site and didn't dig it at all! My main objection- was the confinement in the passenger seat, I felt cramped. I attribute that feeling to the center console design taking up valuable real-estate in an already narrow cabin. Months earlier I had purchased a 2000 Buick LeSabre that didn't have a center console & the gear shift was near the steering wheel which freed up a lot of front seat space. Much better design in my opinion, therefore my humble advice, before you pull the trigger, try sitting in the passenger seat & let someone else drive you around town. Besides that, I don't like the old fashioned- front grill, I think the grill was changed/up-dated in 2017 on all the Caddy's. As far as Caddy sedans go, the CT6 styling is much more sportier & appealing, But my favorite Caddy has to be the XT6, sits higher up & is the perfect size..Cheers!

    I still remember the Impala video because I've liked that car. I have a small single car garage and live in California (high fuel prices similar to Canada) so got a Ford fusion hybrid. I still like those GM sedans though.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  Год назад

      The Impala really impressed me when I drove it, and I think the only major thing that let me down with that car was the lack of AWD which this would address. GM really should have looked into my hybrid options though, I feel they're missing out on an important segment today.

  • @fgeiger41
    @fgeiger41 Год назад +4

    I liked the XTS but GM should not have let this car hit the market with front drive only. They should've had a standard rear biased awd for a luxury cruiser.

    • @PRNTestDrive

      The mechanism was on order to fix the release, it wasn't the motor/release itself as it would unlatch, but those button sensors are what end up causing problems.

    My father has a 2014 XTS V-Sport Platinum with the 3.6 TTV6 and it's shockingly quick. It's very comfortable and has a pretty good sound system. First generation CUE is one of the worst infotainment systems I've ever had the displeasure of using, but the rest of the car is very nice and he enjoys it.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  Год назад +1

      CUE is pretty sluggish today and not very accurate when pressing the buttons, I'll give it that. I remember it being like that on the 2018 Escalade when we drove it new. I'd love to try out the twin-turbo V6 to see how it compares. I spotted a newer facelift XTS on my way home with this today as I was still driving it up until this afternoon.

    • @zachtravers
      @zachtravers Год назад

      @@PRNTestDrive The TTV6 is quite quick, I think 0-60 was 5 seconds? Versus 7 for the NA V6 if I’m not mistaken. It’s the mid-range that the TT makes the most difference, there’s less shifting required to get up to speed. I like the refreshed XTS, but the CT6 was significantly improved over the XTS. Both are good cars and CT6s go for serious $. I saw a Blackwing at an auto show the other day.
