Love the passion project, Kyle. I am in my 50's and was holding on to some old Magic the Gathering cards from my college days (early 90's) - I just sold them for $9,100. I was never going to play the game again and figured I was one spill away from them being worth nothing. They were all sleeved, etc, but you never know. It's just cardboard afterall. I am happy with my decision, but look forward to the follow up on this one. Fingers crossed for all 10's!!! Good luck!
Think you made the right move. It's all about what makes the most sense for you on a personal level. Glad to hear you're happy with the decision. Thanks! I'm hoping for the best and preparing for the worst lol

thanks for sharing your collection, got back into it myself in recent years to complete my old collections. No intention to grade them, just wanted to complete them in a modern folder!
I've been watching you for a very long time my dude. I just got back into collecting to show my kids what I was passionate about growing up and now they are too. Just started my 1st youtube channel a few weeks ago b/c they wanted to do Pokemon things with me. I wish I still had my original collection. It would be worth SO MUCH money... but it was never about the money for me, always just the art and the memories man. Thanks for the video and looking forward to the results!

There’s nuance to this. If the card is deemed to be so OC it’s a factory error it can get a pedigree and be worth more. This also goes for square cut cards
Good luck on those grades, I hope you get a lot of 10s :) One thing though, I've been watching a lot off Pokemon collectors grading their cards and PSA is very strict about the front centering and the corner quality too, for example the Rayquaza's front's left border is a lot thicker than right and it might drop it to 8-9 even if the surface was perfect otherwise. But it's still worth to try because sometimes you'd be surprised that this was still 10, they have a scale how much they allow it to be off and some cards still make the cut for a 10. I also wanna say that I love your collection, I love collecting waifus and pretty full art cards too, you got some heavy hitters there! I know the collecting can get pretty pricey, especially if you go into craded cards, but this is a nice hobby to have. It's been refreshing to see you have fun with the cards this much, and I fully support whatever content you want to do. I've watched your videos a long time before you even changed the name to Bitwit, and it's always nice to see you post anything new!
@@shazam2323 If I remember right from watching the video, he looked at back centering and mentioned it was good, even though the front centering was something that probably won't get as good of a grade as he thought by looking at the back. I know he mentioned centering, that's why I talked about this. PSA doesn't only take a look at the other side. If the back centering looks good, it can still be a worse grade. They have certain percentages they allow for both sides to be off and it's different for both. Front centering is more strict but back centering can be a bit more off and still receive a good grade.
Awesome collection Bitwit, good luck on the grades! I personally use BGS, CGC, and TAG if I am sending raw cards in for grading. Played Pokemon throughout my childhood adn after a long hiatus, started playing the games and collecting again back in 2020. Great video!
I watched the video when you went searching your parents house years ago! Collected base set, jungle, fossil and team rocket sets back in the day, have complete sets of all those and team rocket is all 1st edition. Just recently got back into it when my daughter expressed interest. First set we collected together was Brilliant Stars. Good luck with your grades! Edit: just saw the graded cards you've already got. That Moonbreon, Giratina and Dragonite in PSA 10 are legit. Moonbreon is probably worth 1k plus
Excited for the follow-up! I just went to my first Collect-a-Con and submitted 5 cards to Beckett! The person taking the submission only thought one had a decent shot at a 10 (Galarian Rapidash V 168/198 from Chilling Reign) but I also submitted a Charizard ex 223/197 from Obsidian Flames, 1st Edition Blaine's Charizard from Gym Challenge, 1st Edition holo Suicune from NEO Revelation, and my biggest pull ever as a kid: Shining Gyarados from NEO Revelation! I'm super excited to see the results! Looking forward to your follow-up video!
i am in my mid 30s as well and i used to collect the OG cards. the latest that i actively collected were the gym heroes/challenge cards. i had some of the neo set from early 2000 but shortly after that, somewhere around 2004 my cards were stolen and i never found them or tried to replace them. if i had just the ones that i had back then id have a nice stack of money in the bank right now because i had several first edition holos from all of those sets. 99 base set, jungle, promo, fossil, base set 2, team rocket, and gym heroes/challenge (including several different Charizards and a first edition red cheek Pikachu). i wouldnt say that ive got back into it now but i randomly found several sets from x/y and a couple other sets from between 2015-2018 i think and it kind of almost got me back into wanting to collect them again.
I was in grade 3-4 when i purchased a whole set of pokemon cards. i stashed them somewhere in our house but when i tried to find them a couple of years back, I couldn't. Happy to see you recovered yours. I know i had that first edition charizard in that set too, what a loss. edit: the year was probably '96 ~ '98
I just submitted my holo charizard and holo nidoking from 2016 XY evolutions. I’ve been in the hobby off and on since I was a kid. I sold majority of my base set cards in 2018 when I purchased my first home. I opened a couple XY booster boxes shortly after buying my house to kind of restart my collection. I totally forgot about them until recently when I found them as I was starting to remodel my home. First ever submission for grading, so I’m excited to see what happens
Very nice collection Kyle, I collect Garbage Pale Kids, prolly not worth anything but I love the artwork, as I can appreciate it being an artist myself.
Not sure if it's been mentioned already, but often times you can find a collectibles shop in your area that does batched grading (a bunch of people all at once) through the store itself, which gets you a much better price. Instead of you and person A, B, and C all sending them separately and paying for the shipping and grading from PSA/CGC/SGC/etc. The store sends in larger batches to the authenticators, you get a better price, timing on grading is often the exact same. It's a win, win
This is cool, I also dug up my ~25 year old collection recently, but not too much worth submitting to PSA. I played with most of them like a foolish child 🥲 Plus I'm in Australia, the much longer journey of sending them to the US feels more risky haha. Instead I started buying tons of graded cards. I don't want to talk about how much, let's just pretend it's an investment. GL with the grades!
That just means your cards got more love than mine did haha. Man, overseas? I could never. Buying graded is a good option and honestly makes more sense (most of the time) than buying packs to get lucky. It gets expensive, but at least we can always sell them in case of an emergency. XD
Got back into collecting after seeing your video on champions path when you pulled like five charizards . If you ultimately want to grade everything you should chip in a psa membership with a few people and do the bulk grading. They show the declared value for each one but I’ve graded cards that are slightly higher than that and had no issues. I also send in a few cards I’m okay selling to cover grading cost. Good luck and hope you have more Pokémon content on the channel.
I just submitted my first Pokemon cards to PSA. One of the cards was a Charizard Base set 2 that I pulled from a booster with the friend that got me into pokemon cards... years and years ago. I cherished that card, but it still had some whitening; I figured it would get a 6 or 7, but to my surprise, it's an 8. So good luck Kyle
Thanks for insightful video. Over the last year I took a good look at my old collection, I probably have about 10-ish or so cards worth a little something. I’d be tempted to get a few graded but like you I’d be terrified of the results, but more so the cost is not one I can bear right now. My noteworthy gems include: 1st Ed Holo Dark Dragonite from the Team Rocket set Unlimited Holo Blaine’s Charizard from the Gym Challenges set Unlimited Holo Shining Magikarp from the Neo Revelation set Japanese Misty’s Tears from the Leaders’ Stadium set (my only banned card) Japanese Holo Blaine’s Arcanine from the Challenge from the Darkness set Japanese Holo Lugia from the Gold, Silver, to a New World… set Non-holo ______ ‘s Pikachu from Pikachu World collection Also worth noting that the Team Rocket set is my most complete set and in 1st edition no less. Fantastic that you have friends who will give you things like that. Many years ago a friend of mine asked if he could buy my copy of Up Town Top Rankin by Althea and Donna. I refused because it was the first 7" single that my dad bought for me (showing my age) but my friend let gave me a rare copy of God Save The Queen by Sex Pistols because he was more interested in reggae and ragga. That SP single is in a bank vault and my will has instructions to sell it to give my son a bit of money. Having said that, the kid has some pretty valuable Pokemon cards himself
Hmm. I need to pull my collection out and check on it. Dont really ever intend on selling it while Im alive but probably time to check the box it is in.
Leonhart just made a video about sending them to psa from gamestop as a middle man service. I think it was 15 per card plus shipping. Quite a bit cheaper if you wanted to submit more
@@elheferme My Magic collection doesn't go that far back (started playing just before New Phyrexia in 2011, and most of my cards are no older than Magic 2010), but I've been organizing mine into sets, then sorting by card number (so, alphabetically by colour (mostly. Newer sets have extra stuff like full or alternate art that ends up after basic lands in the sorting order)), then entering everything into a website called Deckbox If you're American, it also conveniently shows card prices from TCGplayer (market and low) and Card Kingdom, along with their own marketplace. If like me, you're not American, then it's a little less convenient, but also gives you an idea of what's worth money. You can then check prices on those cards on your local markets. Most people in my area use Face to Face Games for example. As far as I know, they're the biggest card shop in Canada (at least, the biggest that isn't focused on sports cards), and deal with the big three TCGs (Magic, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh), along with Lorcana and a few smaller games
Do NOT feel bad for collecting Pokemon cards. I've actually managed to Complete an English Scarlet and Violet 151 Master set (Not including the Pokemon Center promo card, and a couple others from I believe Best Buy or something?) that I managed to pull from my own booster packs. The last card I needed was the # 202 Zapdos. I managed to pull it out of the LAST pack I had.. the last pack that I WAS going to give to my friend, but something in the back of my mind told me not to.. glad I listened to that. I was FLOORED when I pulled that Zapdos. Out of all the packs I opened, I managed to pull TWO of the Charizard SIR cards. GOOD LUCK with your future pulls!!!
a thousand years from now after the apocalypse wars someone will excavate your parents home and find the charizard perfectly protected in its acrylic case. It will be worshipped as ancient holy writings that survived. Billions will flock to it as the church of charizard is formed.
I got back into Pokémon last year when my brother bought me a 151 trainer box for my birthday and yea........ Adult money and pokemon was nuts!!!!!!!!! My wife was on board and didn't care until every time we drove by a target I would find a way to get in there and buy what ever they had lol But only with 151. Haven't bought a Pokémon pack of any sort since 151 disappeared and what ever was around was being scalped and i wont play that. Plus I dgaf about any Pokémon besides 151. When ever they decided to do another 151 i'll be all over it again. But until then ehhhh... Not my thing. Was funny to see nothing but adults my age like kyle being the only ones buying 151 lmao Dude from l.a was in town for work up north and we started chatting and laughing how the kids were looking at us geeking out and we were in our work uniforms giggling like kids buying up Pokémon cards lol Target employee did a drop one time and she said its been nothing but 30 year looking people that keep wiping the shelfs clean all day long of 151 lol
Normally, someone like me at my age that never got into Pokémon would say "wow I didn't think I would ever be into Pokémon after 44 years, but after watching your video it's change my entire outlook on the whole genre!" But nope still don't f**king care but I watched the vid just for u man lol😂
Mine were all stolen from me when I was a kid. My “friends “ kicked my door in and took all my games and cards. Cashed them in for a small amount of money to get high. Makes me sick to think of how much that collection is worth today. Had some very rare cards in there. Edit: I had that charzard you showed, graded as well lol
Fellow nerd out! Transition to a Pokémon RUclips streamer! PSA grade reveal coming soon. Also got back into collecting, but sad to say I still to this day have not found my childhood collection that I know it’s in the attic. It will be found…. One day….
Put me in your will for those lol. I have all original 151 myself somewhere in my parents basement. I do remember i had 3-4 of the Charizard's although we called the shiny foil cards "holographics" in my friend group but i remember the card i was most proud to have was a shiny foil mew. and since my 7900xtx recently died i'm reaaaallllyyy tempted to dig through my parents storage to search for them hahaha. I had all of mine in a red binder with ash and Pikachu on the front cover.
Since that video too i went and searched my moms house as well and couldnt find my pokemon collection from the 90's/00's. They were all sleeved and in binders. Sucks for me lol.
I have a sealed Poncho Pikachu Magikarp/ Gyrados box if you were ever interested im the OG owner. Im going to open ot regardless since im heading to the Pasadena card show.
Only cards i did were baseball and football growing up. But after a release of a big card game that ive been playing through im starting to want to start this. Good thing i am a poo boi or id be in trouble. Love the content tho as usual.
22:27 you don’t use nitrile (or cotton) gloves to stop your oils from contaminating the cards. Depending on ph you could be destroying the card prematurely. You should handle like museum curators to increase longevity of cards. Also do you store in a fire safe or any other method to stop fire mould etc. if you use a fire safe beware of moisture ( I found out hard way safe get moist almost lost birth certificate etc due to mould apparently supposed to open regularly to air out. I’d also consider vacuum bagging or argon gas to displace moisture or hermetically seal them too. Go “full retard” on it. Beware of vacuum bagging as it may crush individual cards perhaps get those vacuum boxes. To ensure space around card is maintained.
Sadly the magikarp at 15:38 will most likely not get a PSA10 the centering on the front is way off. It’s particularly noticeable on the top right corner 😢
I still got my first edition Machamp that went through the washing machine...he's foil, shadowless, and has arm trails, also very wrinkled and warped wonder what grade he'd get 0.01 maybe lol
Here’s the question of the year! How with 2.36mil subs are your monthly and yearly earning under your 500 month/27g a yr. Unless reporting to RUclips and irs are way off. Seems like a super well built channel with very loyal subs, with very little rev generated. Have you hired a content developer? 2.36 mil subs you should be at the point of 5am 10am daily planing, 1030 to 1230est/ daily shooting, ( which should only involve you stopping into the room or studio and recording a set content then done, lunch 1 to 3 with meetings, 330 430 edit review( someone else editing) home 3 days a week while you have 7 days of content. If this is not you there is something seriously broken. Just a comp 383k subs 40%pay, 5 vids week, average 18 per 1000. This person clears 33k month and works 3 12hr days. Help me with the math
I've seen an increasing number of psa10 cards with non-perfect centering at card shows. But interestingly those cards were very recently graded. Wonder if psa is placing less emphasis/value on centering 🤔🤷🏻♂️

If by lost you mean sold or given away, I'm sure 95% of relate 😅@@washburnv
Cant wait for the grading video
Fantastic that you have friends who will give you things like that. Many years ago a friend of mine asked if he could buy my copy of Up Town Top Rankin by Althea and Donna. I refused because it was the first 7" single that my dad bought for me (showing my age) but my friend let gave me a rare copy of God Save The Queen by Sex Pistols because he was more interested in reggae and ragga. That SP single is in a bank vault and my will has instructions to sell it to give my son a bit of money. Having said that, the kid has some pretty valuable Pokemon cards himself
You should have subscribed to the psa membership. It brings the cost down to $15 or so per card depending on the current special!
Hmm. I need to pull my collection out and check on it. Dont really ever intend on selling it while Im alive but probably time to check the box it is in.
Leonhart just made a video about sending them to psa from gamestop as a middle man service. I think it was 15 per card plus shipping. Quite a bit cheaper if you wanted to submit more
Bitwit a poke youtuber now? im all for it
This plus his Airsoft vid are welcome additions.
I feel like he's becoming a "whatever hobby he's interested in" (but still tech-focused) RUclipsr. Lol
Just a reminder that Team APS make a great video stating that any Trading Card games isn't an investment.
I have some old Nintendo Power mags that still have the Pokemon cards attached to the spine in the middle of the mag
Me too. Wonder what they are worth now?
I also have a ton of old Magic the Gathering cards from like ‘95-‘99 I need to sort. But no idea where to get started lol
@@elheferme My Magic collection doesn't go that far back (started playing just before New Phyrexia in 2011, and most of my cards are no older than Magic 2010), but I've been organizing mine into sets, then sorting by card number (so, alphabetically by colour (mostly. Newer sets have extra stuff like full or alternate art that ends up after basic lands in the sorting order)), then entering everything into a website called Deckbox
If you're American, it also conveniently shows card prices from TCGplayer (market and low) and Card Kingdom, along with their own marketplace.
GOOD LUCK with your future pulls!!!
these are the kinda videos we want to see...
a thousand years from now after the apocalypse wars someone will excavate your parents home and find the charizard perfectly protected in its acrylic case. It will be worshipped as ancient holy writings that survived. Billions will flock to it as the church of charizard is formed.
Putting a protective case on a PSA1 or 2 card is such an interesting move lol.
The PC dude! Long time no see.
Normally, someone like me at my age that never got into Pokémon would say "wow I didn't think I would ever be into Pokémon after 44 years, but after watching your video it's change my entire outlook on the whole genre!" But nope still don't f**king care but I watched the vid just for u man lol😂
you should opt to get the yearly membership, lowers the cost per card. I would send more than 10, 100% GET THAT GENGAR SENT OFF
Bet Lyle knows where that Charizard went
🔥 content as always
Mine were all stolen from me when I was a kid. My “friends “ kicked my door in and took all my games and cards. Cashed them in for a small amount of money to get high. Makes me sick to think of how much that collection is worth today. Had some very rare cards in there. Edit: I had that charzard you showed, graded as well lol
Now I regret giving all my old school pokemon cards away
I had almost all the mainstream ones and multiple Charizards from the early 2000s
for vintage even PSA 7s can be worth it to grade (value graded>raw +grading cost)
My pokemon cards got stolen in school days like 15 to 20 years ago but I still have my yu gi oh cards
Fellow nerd out! Transition to a Pokémon RUclips streamer! PSA grade reveal coming soon. Also got back into collecting, but sad to say I still to this day have not found my childhood collection that I know it’s in the attic. It will be found…. One day….
Damn, I thought Kyle was going to talk about the leaks
We want an update when you get them back to see if you got any 10 grade cards!
I have a base set Charizard that I pulled at my local Toys'r'us when I was a child. I want it graded but I don't trust the UK postal system.
I have a sealed Poncho Pikachu Magikarp/ Gyrados box if you were ever interested im the OG owner. Im going to open ot regardless since im heading to the Pasadena card show.
Depending on how that Hitmonlee looked you could have sent that in; unlimited hitmonlee has a super low pop for PSA 10 cards
I mean i really like your video and your sponser. But why is you Windows not activated?
Magikarp learns tackle at level 15.
Dont worry we all know Austin Evans has the same addiction
these cards are only as valuable as the mug willing to buy them is willing to spend.
Nidoking was definitely battle tested. 😂🎉
I have no idea what pokemon is. But this looks like a great hobby.
Only cards i did were baseball and football growing up. But after a release of a big card game that ive been playing through im starting to want to start this. Good thing i am a poo boi or id be in trouble. Love the content tho as usual.
More pokemon contents please ❤️
The facts I pulled 2 rayquaza vmax alt art and Kyle pulled 0 makes me feel better
You need to do a collab with Leonhart!
Should have cleaned the dirt spots from that 1st edition Nidoking. Would get 2 grades higher rating
6:30 I believe you could fix those edges
I'm 38 and I still have my Pokemon cards. I have a first edition foil Blastoise.
Sadly the magikarp at 15:38 will most likely not get a PSA10 the centering on the front is way off. It’s particularly noticeable on the top right corner 😢
I just caught that. Bummer :(
Bet Lyle knows where that Charizard went
@14:22 Your Windows is not activated. Time to get a key from the sponsor? :D
I still got my first edition Machamp that went through the washing machine...he's foil, shadowless, and has arm trails, also very wrinkled and warped wonder what grade he'd get 0.01 maybe lol
Anyone who has a graded “Misty’s favor” card needs to be imprisoned
The fact that a piece of cardboard could potentially be of greater value than a 4090 terrifies me.
It's not that hard to understand
Video sponsor advertising Windows product keys.
Computer throughout last half of video displays not activated lol.
Help me with the math
i gave my collection to my sister when I was a teenager. She still has them, I asked for them back...she said no, lol.
I've seen an increasing number of psa10 cards with non-perfect centering at card shows. But interestingly those cards were very recently graded. Wonder if psa is placing less emphasis/value on centering 🤔🤷🏻♂️
Well, we're in the same boat man. Lmao
I love slabbing cards and comics!
I traded my pokemon collection for a magic the gathering collection and then it got stolen. Lol
