I'm guessing that since the eternamax form can't be used in regular battles, the eternamax form glitches in the overworld, preventing it from being encountered

Wow, that ending though! OOF! That’s possibly the most heartbreaking ending to a John-Michael Cup video ever. John had victory at his grasp, but literally the game just said no. I can only guess what others have said, since Eternamax Eternatus’s actual body is up in the air that’s probably where it’s hitbox is. The hand I guess doesn’t count.
eternamax eternatus has special battle qualities, where it can only be in battle for the cutscene and story battle during the game. because its wild, the game doesn't see the story checkpoints to make the battle start and doesn't have physics to have it (as they said, you cant use emax eternatus so it doesn't start the battle). shockingly john never went to lake of outrage, a spot known to fill the grass with pokemon

Yeah, Eternatus isn't the greatest 'handyman' despite his Eternamaxed apperance
That mustve been a handful for him
I knew Mikey was going to win the moment I saw that Eternatus. That thing likely doesn't have a hit box, and even if it does, it'll take John to a Dynamax raid and Mikey was already at the final route so John was screwed either way.
I think it's because you had to touch the tail as in where the core is swirling around. But because it's so high up you can't interact with it
I love how Drowzee has become part of the John/Michael lore.

its a special battle, emax eternatus cant be battled outside the story mission, no battle starts if found in the wild. base eternatus would be fine but not emax
it doesnt have a hitbox, as it cant have a spawn in routes where players can encounter it a second time, so players cant interact with it

Again it would have been nice too see some score board along the way, showing how many legendaries you both got and which Gen you still needed to get :)
I like to think that Eternatus is just warping reality (because it has been shown that it can) so John can't catch it.
This is super cool. It would be cool to see a version of this in the crown tundra's max raid dens.

I’d kind of like to see a catching challenge in one of the spinoffs such mystery dungeon (whoever gets kecleon should just give up immediately) or Ranger (that’d be interesting since some Pokemon require specific field moves to be catchable).

This is the coolest one so far! Love the idea of this video, and gives the entire map some love! Honestly, I wish this was how they distributed the legends for this game. Like what they did for the Swords of Justice, but more random. Would’ve been really cool.
