We are now old enough to play a game where 1999 is considered "A setting in the past so far away so we can use it for our RPG"
....I think they made it to 1999 then time reversed and they are now in the 1800s but thats just my impression from the stuff.

like your favorite characters are actually probably going to be because of their actual personality, lol.
Idk, the only anime-adjacent games that have done british voice acting right are FF14 and FF16 but that's because they actually use british theatre actors, and the style of dialogue doesn't clash with the acting delivery. Anime media dubbing has always suffered that over-exaggerated intonation especially in English, so I'm keen to see how impressive 1999's dubbing actually is.
Good news, this game does the same thing. (Also Xenoblade 3).
Well, Fromsoftware is also technically a Japanese company, so, they are also a JRPG making machine where they also use british theatre actors for the voice acting in the soulsborne games.....its just people tend to *forget* that the soulsborne series are technically jrpgs so...willingly or not.

I mean Arknights snatched the theatre actor they used for margit the fell omen in ER and he made Mylnar's character into his own.
@@ratatouilledrinksclorax9897 JRPG is about game mechanics and not the origin tho... a game can be made by a western company and still incorporate JRPG elements and a game can be made by a japanese company and still not be a JRPG, like soulsborne games that are clearly ARPGs

Like I've said before, you know full well that the devs of Reverse 1999 really wants you to immerse in the story and world building of this fictional place that is Europe that they'd choose to dub their game English with all the accents and a well crafted cutscenes that is akin to a polished Visual Novel. A bold decision for a Chinese gacha game but it is paying off!
People like the sound of Europeans, and they got some talent since they're using theatre actors for it.
This is the same method the jrpg studio Fromsoftware has sued since the days of Demon's Souls up to Elden Ring, not to mention Arknights grabbed a theatre actor to voice Mylnar (they grabbed the voice of Margit The Fell Omen from Elden Ring).

The EN voice acting and art is top tier in this game. And the game has the most unique characters I have ever seen.
I played the closed beta and really enjoyed it, I think the characters and presentation are really strong in this game and I'm looking forward to the launch (Arknights is the only gacha I play and others do not interest me, feels refreshing to finally find another game I really like)
Real, Arknights has been the only gacha ive played where the only extended break i tookw as only 6 months at modt where other gachas i either drop or spend over a year breal before playing again.
Because...dude, ur a mobile game, i shouldnt have to play a game on pc whos mechanics are stripped to be anything greater in complexity because it hss to accommodate for a touch screen, may as well play an actuslly good premium game instead.
Even the best of theselike pgr on pc still struggle with this because in the end ur still just a really watered down dmc.
In cotrast, there is no mechanical restrictions in placing a tower defense or turn-based game on a phone as it would on pc so even playing on phone is comfy for Arknights, smt1/2, bloonstds, and hsr, and hopefully rev1999.

Path to Nowhere has fully voiced dialogues and Alchemy Stars has L2D pretty much everywhere.
@Movel0 Alchemy Stars is great for that. They're also experimenting with voice acting on certain side stories (albeit only in Japanese so far).

Plus visually the art direction ingame is just more boring to look at than Arknights
I think L2D looks pretty awful, i would rather look at pretty static character sprites

Do i really want to try it? Sure i do, i love all of this. Do i want another gacha in my daily routine? No, not really...
Just play when you want to continue the story. I plan on not getting too into the Grindy aspect and mainly play story and events. Star Rail and Genshin take up too much and we have so many new Genshin level gacha annnounced I can’t handle it
Apparently the game is not time consuming at all if thats your worry, people in the main discord were saying its more of a “side game”

I'm pretty hyped myself but I think it's gonna end up being a niche game, just seems way too focused on the story to appeal to a more casual audience, but I could be wrong.The fact that there's no self insert protag and not a lot of fan service also means there's not much appeal to the weeb crowd, and probably have tons of fan art or stuff like that to help with exposition, like some other more popular games do.
I usually like games more for the atmosphere and the setting / world building, wich is why I like Arknights, and this one really hits all the right keys for me.I played the CBT and I felt like the gameplay might get boring quickly to be honest, but I loved the world and the story.
Well Arknights was supposed to be a niche game too but here we are.. There's enough here for this game to standout from the overpopulated mobage crowd, I hope it pays off, it's very refreshing to see a company trying something different in a sea of boring action mobage and genshin gacha models

As a person who is always looking forward to diverse voice acting and language, i'm super hyped for a game like this and turn based combat is actually refreshing after playing so many action games. So yeah, i think that Bri'ish: The game takes the win for me

i first heard of the game in an add by gigguk, and as much i dread getting into new games, gotta say this one seems actually interesting.
So I keep seeing this game popup as the release nears, is it just like stage battles with live2d so like a 2.5D card battler or like there's a world (open/closed) to walk around in?
also, related to your video - i prefer JP or CN voice acting because the voice acting industries in those countries are just better than english voice acting so better/notable VAs + better direction. So outside of like the 4 english voice actors that are in every video game, we're just not there yet (probably Disney's fault for making the idea of celebrity actors automatically being good voice actors, ie chris pratt mario)

2. The EN VA outshines the JP VA in this game. Most probably the only gacha game where this is the case. The emotions, accents for different languages and alternating between the character's native language is amazing.

@@rainzerdesu I have a bad opinion about CN VA in general since it always sounds monotonous to me. There is also KR VA at launch. But EN VA is where they used the most budget and how they intended the game to be played as. Even on the CN server EN VA is the default choice when you log in.
JP voice acting is on par with other decently budgeted voice acting projects. They just raised the bar for the western voices with this game in comparison to other gacha and even higher budget JRPGs, though to be COMPLETELY honest, some voices are a bit hit or miss for me, but overall they did a great job

As someone who was fortunate to play the closed beta I have to say that this game felt polished and the beta was actually a beta and not a pre alpha, so many games nowadays use the beta as marketing but I can def say that blueporch has def improved some aspects of the game(judging by CN servers), the voice acting isn't that spectacular like limbus in the sense that it can feel bland and without any emotions but other than that it was a really fun experience.
Also if anyone who sees this I call dibs on Dikke as her 1 fan (fight me)
