It actually works. I fell asleep to this and the next morning I could speak fluent -if not perfect- French. As indeed the day before, having lived in Switzerland for 10 years now.
@@YesImCatholic the person went to sleep listening to the video and when they woke up they knew French perfectly. 😁 I learned French for five years at high school back in the 1970s, and I have always remembered quite a lot of the vocabulary. I can only speak some, but I can understand a lot of written French.
You're definitely a cut above the rest Vincent I like how you always read each word individually in french to help with pronounciation. I feel I'm making good progress. I study all your videos and as an addition I am reading the french bible..Thank you for your support..
Hey that’s really cool. I have been learning Arabic the last year and have been using the bible as a supplement myself. I am trying to learn French over the summer and perhaps I will buy a French bible in the fall to go along. One thing is for sure, « let my people go » sounds a lot more terrible in any second language!
Yes, I like how Vincent reads each word individually in French, reads at normal speed, and reads the English. Most French teachers are impatient. Use a Textus Receptus (Latin: "received text") French Bible like David Martin. The King James Bible is from the Textus Receptus. Textus Receptus type manuscripts and versions have existed as the majority of texts for almost 2000 years.

Lol 😂 😜 🙆🏻♀️ It's great reinforcement listening to these though isn't it. I learned French for five years in high school back in the 1970s, and I travelled to New Caledonia (from NZ) for a cultural exchange. It was excellent and I became quite fluent back then. I have always remembered quite a lot of vocabulary and the verb conjugations. I can have brief conversations with people in French currently, though I understand more than I can speak. This channel is excellent for picking it up again very well. 👍🏽
@@secretodesconocido5056 any tips on how to actually learn to understand you guys?😅 (as a non - french speaker) and is it really true that people would be rude to you in France when you don’t speak French ?😅
QUESTION : why does it sound so much different when you say it slow, as opposed to fast? I can repeat after you and say everything fine when you say it slow, but when you speed up it sounds like you blend the words?
what you are hearing is the effect of something called "enchainement". when spoken slowly, french words are their own creatures. however, when used in proper french cadence, the words blend together, causing the sound of the words to change. par example, le + oiseau = l'oiseau. the rules can be confusing for a beginner but a good french phonetics class will make you a pro in no time.
@@scurvymouth l'oiseau is the correct grammer. le ends with a vowel and oiseau starts with a vowel and so the determiner le and la becomes l' only when the proceeding word starts with vowel or h. Another example could be je mashed with any verbs. J'sais, j'suis (pronounced as shay and shui). Also it is found in normal conversation some articles are even dropped considering french is a language where not every word has to be said.

Yeah, that's on purpose. In French you're supposed to run your words together.
because thats what is suppost to happen, I speak portuguese and the exact same thing happens!
