  • There was a chain of taco and hot dogs restaurants. Pup N' Taco was the place to go. Who could forget their iconic slushes? They were in business from 1956 until they were bought out by Taco Bell in 1984. 3 of them still were around under the Pop N' Taco chain but they were only in New Mexico. Here is their brief history.

There was a Pup n Taco at the end of the street I lived in growing up in Pasadena. My go to order was 2 chili dogs and a cherry slush.
There is a Taco Bell at that same location now.
