This has single-handedly become one of my favourite tracks ever... The sound design, the emotion... Can't stop imagining it in a "Quantum Break" style time-stop sequence. Such an amazing song.
Thanks! I have an upcoming project that might be fun to break down like this as well, so there will most likely be some breakdowns in the future. Audiogeekery definitely. 😊
I have never been a hardware guy but this makes me want to invest in something that lets you do this kind of stuff, this walk-through was quite inspiring actually. Kaiken lisäksi terkkuja Suomesta, oli pieni shokki kuulla Suomalainen nimi tossa videossa.
Damn🔥😨! Been looking into granular synthesis a lot recently. The ambient atmosphere was heavenly. Some parts kinda reminded me of the game Mirror's Edge 😄. ps. NOI RUMMUT OLI SAIRAAT!
@@Recue Itelki Valhalla Supermassive yks lemppari plugineist 😄. Jos sulta löytyy joskus aikaa tehä yhessä musiikkia, voiko suhun ottaa Instagramissa yhteyttä?
You work and style with granular synthesis is incredibly inspiring! And some of the sounds with how massive they can get, really makes me want to learn how to start blending some of the analogue signals I can get out of my guitar with this stuff! Really incredible stuff! It would be great have more tutorials on your sound design if you’re up for making them! :)
Thanks! Combining electronic with acoustic can yield to really interesting results and is definitely worth exploring. Glad to hear if this provided inspiration. 😊 I’ll definitely be making more tutorials when I find a suitable project with a good angle to break down.
I really could not stop trying to get something going in this direction. But i'm not very confident with grannular synths. So i tried and (i think i achieved) similar results with random loops of drum sounds or synth sounds, combined with randomized panning, bit crush, pitch/formant shifting/frequenzy shifting, transient shaper to controle the envelope off the sound and differnt types of flangers/chorus and of course filters. I think i really got some interesting result with combinations of these. In the end, all i wanted to say is that there are many different ways to achieve certain sounds and if one does not work, just try another way it could maybe work. Having a smaller array of gadgets can be of great use to understand them better and getting somewhere faster then just buying a wide range of gadgets, you'll end up barely using/knowing. Great Song recue, could not get it out of my head for months :D
You're absolutely right, that mastering fewer things and studying them well often times leads to a lot better results than always reaching out for a new tool if you don't find what you're after. Patiently experimenting things can suddenly lock into place as you manage to find the sweet spot. That's a big part of the joy that's making music. :) Thanks Jasic, glad you like the tune!
Man that video was awesome, nice humor😂make more, ive learnt a lot and end enjoyed it alot, you are an entertainer, countinue with the videos, if you would post more more people would follow you im telling you, you are a fucking great artist, i wanna hear more🙋🏻♂️and i think everybody else does too
Thank you so much for the kind words! Glad to hear if you managed to learn some new tricks (and laughs) from the video. 😊 I currently have an EP worth of music in a label's release queue and I'm definitely planning on doing some breakdown videos for that material. I just want to be able to bring something new/different to the table when doing a video and I hope that the concept of the EP might be exactly that.😊
Thanks! Really glad to hear that. :) I have some new music in the pipeline and am planning on making tutorials for the new techniques I discovered. Can't spill the beans quite yet, but pretty excited on that one and hoping to get it out soon!
Yeah, I noticed that yesterday as well and seems like the distro messed the tagging up. Got a message few hours back that they have corrected the tagging and now it's just up for Spotify to sync it.
I see that you don't use a lot of 3rd party plugin (or do you?). You convince me that ableton stock plugin is useful and I don't really need to buy anything to make good music.
Absolutely, there's some 3rd party stuff (NI / Izotope for example) and outboard gear in there but you don't necessarily need any of that! You can do heaps with the Ableton stock plugins and the selection just keeps growing. Add Max 4 Live on top of that and you're all set. :)

we need recue x virtual riot
So is the sample available to the public or just the people that particapated in the challenge?
The sample was provided my Jamie when we started the challenge, so as far as I know it's not publicly available. At least at the moment!
Hey man, I checked out your song on Spotify but the link to jamie lidell on Spotify doesn't work. It is linked to another jamie lidell.

You did finish it as full track?
Yup, finished, wrapped up and released here: recue.bandcamp.com/album/hold-you-feat-jamie-lidell (available on streaming services as well)
