I have so enjoyed watching these episodes of Rhoda. Valarie Harper is such a classy woman and she will be missed. Have to mention the style of clothing was AWESOME. It needs to come back.

I always loved the way ida, Brenda and rhoda were so close to each other. They could argue and drive each other crazy, but at the end of the day, you know they loved each other to death, and would do anything for each other. That’s what real family is. Ida was like a force of nature. Great moms are the glue that keep a family together. Once they’re gone you realize just how much they did for you, how much they cared, and how much you miss them.
Ida reminds me of my own mother, the persistence, direct hints ,guilt trip, and wanting us to be close to her in a very loving way. Believe it or not 4 of us siblings, talked about her just like Rhoda and Brenda ;))) Rest In Peace mom , we miss your dark humour and your big personality❤️
Carlton is Hilarious! 😅🤣😆🤣😆 I love him!!!!! I love Ida's outfit! I could use that today!!! 😁😁😁😁 I'm enjoying my Rhoda binge 😁 Thank you RUclips!!!!!!?👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 02.08.2022
I love it! Ida and Martin are putting ugly plastic fake tiles over what looks like a hard-wood floor, but that's the type of aesthetic atrocity some people engaged in back them. That joke about the ice-wrestling was cute. Great show, I miss ones like this.
No worse than today where they strip the character/soul from beautiful or quaint homes and make them into bowling alleys or dentist offices with the warmth of a hollowed out cave.
Johnny Venture supposedly lives in Vegas, but he just drops in on them in New York City constantly. "Johnny's Solo Flight" showed that his background singers abandoned him. But he regained his skill, and he was making so much money in Vegas that I doubt he would move away from it. Questions, questions...
My parents were married 50 years before my dad died last year. I have been married 12 and plan to stay married for life. Some people still take their marriage vows seriously though, unfortunately, people nowadays think if their marriage doesn't work out they will just try something else.
My parents were married for 63 years. Dad drove 6 hours, every other weekend, to 'court' and date my Mom before they were married. He did this driving back and forth for well over a year before they married.

Why would Rhoda be surprised to hear that it’s her parents’ anniversary and ask if Brenda was “sure”? Surely Rhoda knows the date of her parents’ anniversary. The quality of the writing has dropped like a stone these last couple of episodes.
Those adhesive tiles were popular in the 1970s, and were mainly crap. My parents put such tile on their kitchen floor (1976) when I was in 9th grade, and about 2 years later some of those tiles were becoming loose. They were thick and white, with pastel blue designs, and felt like ceramic, but weren't. Now days they are probably made better. This episode was okay, not the usual hilarity. I wish Johnny were on more eps. He was cute.Sometimes Ida acts childish concerning her husband. She ought to be used to him. I can't imagine her as a cheerleader in high school, either.
Yeah vynl flooring has come a long way since the 70's. It use to bubble up and curl and peel up in the bathroom from the humidity of the shower. I agree, poor Martin put up with A LOT of B.S. from Ida. I can totally see her as a cheerleader. She's cute and little and likes to be the center of attention.
At 15:01 you can see a guy with glasses standing behind Johnny. I know I've seen him in something before where he had a speaking part. I think he played someone unpleasant...? Anyone identify him?
Rhoda's parents must be in their late 50s or early 60s if they celebrate 40 years of marriage. But in the first season Ida claimed to be 52 years old and she has been married for 37 years. That means Ida was 15 years young when she had married Marty.
+CaptainGrimsdale That was common back in their time. I had a set of great-grandparents where he was 27 and she turned 15 just six days prior. Nowadays he would be compared to R. Kelly.

It's very nostalgic how Manhattan was at the time and the clothing style and how new yorkers went out more

The Episodes with Ida(&Martin) are the best episodes..miss Joe too!!
No! "Joe" should never have on this show! So glad he is gone!
I felt bad for the actor, David Groh, when they wrote him out of this show. I thought he was a fantastic addition.

I did too, sad he passed in 2008..he had a child later In life and wasn't around long to enjoy it🥺
How did Martin have a present for Ida if the party was a surprise to him as well? somebody goofed
@Lizby109 Martin would buy her a present just because it's for her birthday! Not a gift only because there was a party. 🤷♀️
I thought Johnny sounded wonderful singing Hava Negila!!! I didn't want him to stop.
I thought he sounded great too, but after an hour in a cramped apartment it was time for a break.
Barbecue mask would come in handy right now...
Hahahahaha! I thought the same thing when I saw it!
love this show
Peel and stick tile!!! I used that in my bathroom. Still have to use adhesive though to work well.
Rhoda had the Etc. Sign in the MTM show!!!
Amazing to watch this since I've been with mine for 42 years
Gorgeous dress, Rhoda!
God Ida can be hard work
Wow.. the Ikea coffee table was around even back then.
When did Ida slam the door on Johnny there? Was it part of what was obviously cut out during that noticeably unusual scene transition around 14:19?
These Rhoda's are much better than the early ones.
agree

I like Nancy Walker...she is so funny
the creativity graceing this show reveals interesting imagination 🍸
"I don't know where I leave off an you begin." Some would call that codependent. I call it love. 💕
I would give anything to have Ida's thick hair. It's so beautiful.
