This is a great racket. Agreed that the added weight helps a bunch. So much fun to play aggressively with, and the power helps with defending too. A great serving racket.

Funny ending! LOL! Thanks for posting! I am still in the process of rehabbing from total knee replacement surgery, so I've not returned to the courts yet. But, watching you guys hit ground strokes helps me miss tennis a little less. I was thinking of trying out the Pure Aero, but I only had 1 season on a pair of Pure Drives before I needed my knee surgery; so, they are still new. Keep up the great work on the courts! Cheers!
Thanks! Appreciate the comment. The Pure Drive and Pure Aero are not far apart. This one will feel a bit softer and less powerful. Good luck on the rehab!
Which one would you recommend between the Babolat Pure Aero and the Wilson Pro Staff RF97 for a beginner player that wants to get better? I am looking for a racquet that gives a good combo of power (especially when serving), spin, control and maneuverability. Maybe you can recommend me other models besides those ones that I mentioned. I've also read good reviews about the Head Graphene 360+ Speed Pro, but I don't know what to think about it when comparing it with the other two racquets that I mentiond. I am a beginner but I would like a good quality racquet that can sustain my progress in the future. My budget would be like 200 euros. Thanks a lot for your help!
Dude I can relate to this so much because I play exactly like you(a bit more western forehand though). Thanks a lot for the great review and once I recover from my ACL injury and be back on court, I'll buy this racquet.
I use this frame. I have an eastern grip and grip tends to slide to semi western everytime. I play with spin but i lack the flat shot needed to end the point. Any suggestions?
Hi @Tennisnerd! Love your videos, I have a question for you: any recommended rackets to try similar to this but with lower stiffness to ease pain on the arm? I've tried Clash but hated it....
what do think about a 1.30mm gaugh string in this frame? Could it be help to make to open string pattern closer and get consitency in terms of response?
Tennisnerd, I need some advice! I'm currently playing with a Babolat Pure Drive GT Roddick (probably from 2011/2012). I used to be a very avid player, but life got in the way and I hadn't played in several years. Recently, I've picked the racket back up and have begun playing regularly again. Unfortunately, this racket (along with the full bed of RPM blast strings) have given me all sorts of arm issues. I have had some elbow pain and I'm getting numbness in my pinky and ring fingers. For a player who plays heavy forehands from the baseline, likes spin, and plays pretty aggressively, is there a racket or two that comes to mind that fit that profile? I was looking at this racket, but with my wrist and elbow issues that have arisen, I'm worried the Pure Aero may be a little too stiff for me. Thank you!! Your videos are incredibly helpful and informative!
I was considering a Wilson Blade, but have also noticed you found some smaller companies that make great products. I would be open to trying one of them instead of one of the "big" companies. Thanks!!

Hi Jonas What racquet would you recommend for baseliners with mixing of flat shots and spin. Btw, my forehand grip is somewhere between eastern and semi-western. Thanks.
Hi, depends a bit on what brands you are used to because grip shapes does matter and they differ a bit between brands. I think the Babolat Pure Strike 98 is good if you don't have arm issues, same goes for the HEAD Graphene 360 Speed Pro. The Angell K7 Red or Prince Beast 98 is a solid choice if you want a more flexible feel. If you're open to 95 sq inch racquets, check out the Dunlop Srixon CX 200 Tour or Prince VCORE 95. Those are all good sticks!
emelie Hej, jag tycker den här är lite mjukare men tack vare den något högre svingvikten så är den ändå mer stabil. Föredrar den nya personligen över 2013-modellen.
Awesome spot on review! I tried this racket and I liked it but like you, the volleys are not as great! Do you have any recommendations for a similar racquet which plays just as good as this Pure Aero 2019 but good for volleys as well? I hit with spin but I also serve and volley quite a bit.
Thanks! Hmm...tricky. I think the Babolat Aero Pro Drive Original is better on volleys than this stick for example, but not that easy to find. I would go down in head size a bit and get a bit more precision. The Yonex DR 98 is not bad on volleys and still has a crisper feel. I think previous Pure Drives (not 2018 one) are still powerful and spin-friendly but better on the volley. It is a tricky mix because power and precision are contrasts :)
Thanks for the suggestions! The Aeropro original is probably hard to find these days so that is out of the question I’m guessing! So down to the Yonex DR98 and 2015 Pure Drive, which one plays closest to the Pure Aero 2019?

Tennisnerd, Sam Querrey using pure aero (maybe with lower RA but with same grommets). What about control of that racket? It’s the same as first generation pure aero, or its better?

I'm a big fan of the Babolat Aero Pro Drive Original, the first version of them all (2004/2005 version). Actually, it has been my racquet of choice for many many years. However, i have never liked the following versions of the Babolat Aero Pro Drive racquets. I don't like the Cortex, they feel too stiff, and the balance and maneuverability of the new versions always feel really different to the original one. Also, the Original version is more versatile, and allows you to hit both shots with heavy top spin and more flat shots, which you can't do that well in the new versions. Is this new version more similar to the APD Original or is it more or less like the 2013 APD version?
I agree with you that the Original is kind of in a league on its own. This one is perhaps my second favorite though so it is a fun stick. I could actually play it pretty flat and still get a high percentage in.
I think it is closer to the APD GT. But I prefer this one from that one. But the APD's launch angle is more controlled and that is why I tend to prefer it.
