Babolat Pure Aero 2019 - Only a paintjob or there's more?

- Babolat updated the Pure Aero using the legacy Aero Pro Drive colors. Here are my initial thoughts on the new racquet. I warmly welcome the change in the stiffness and some useful material changes.
But is it really worth upgrading? Also, will Babolat also start this paintjob game? Fed's racquet changed color for 5 times already.. Is it Rafa's turn?
Thanks for watching. - Наука
The "2019" refers to the model used by players in the 2019 season which starts at the Australian open in Jan 2019. It was released for sale in Nov 2018.
no pro tour player upgrades their racket just because a company releases a new one for a new season. Nadal is using the aero pro drive from 2003. It's the same marketing as cars.
Stevey Irwin he’s not using the aero pro drive he’s using the pure aero decima or he was
Just saw this video today, in addition to your older Pure Aero having misweaves, the crosses seem to be strung incorrectly.
The first generation PA has slots in the grommets such that you MUST start the crosses on the specific grommet labeled "Cross start".
If you don't, the loops for all of your crosses will stick out PAST the edge of the hoop as they appear to be on yours. The loops are supposed to sit flush with the hoop.
If strung incorrectly, the cross loopps at the bumper guard are more than likely going to break due to scraping your racquet on the ground (if you do that)
The 2019 PA does NOT have that channeled grommet system, so the crosses can be strung either way.
Sorry but can’t stop staring at the “older” aero being misstrung... 🤣
That s actually my spare. I knew something was off with it. Where do you think it a misstrung? Maybe a minute mark?
Your top 3 crosses and bottom crosses are identical. Basically fix the “middle” of the 3 and it would be correct. Seems to be an error of when the mains got shorter. Common error. Cool video otherwise! 👍🏼
I have the 2019 one
Victor Nguyen just yesterday I got this racquet restrung and omg it made such a big difference..
You have a keen eye. Lol. Who pays attention to that? I string my own racquets but wasn’t paying any attention to the strings on either racquet. The problem actually started with the first cross. That’s the worst string job I’ve seen, and looks like it was strung by someone that had never strung a racquet before.
Whats the grip size of the Babolat Pure Aero 2019 in the video?
4 1/2
Is it a lot different from the 2012/2013 model? That’s the one I have and I’m looking to upgrade
We are usually talking about very small nuances here so is it a lot different no but is it worth the upgrade if it suits you yes
@an an Yes, it's different! Feels lighter and is softer on the wrist. Did you buy it?:)
The lime green Pure Aero is misweaved on top 3 and top bottom crosses. ¿Was that intentional? (I don´t think that´s legal).
I use the old aero! I’m changing to a soft poly (poly air) to cope with the stiffness:) what would you recommend
I still use the old aero with solinco hyper g. Still a stiff setup but it feels great!
@@BeckersReviews you like the 2016 pure aero more than 2019 ?
@@ib9018 I do also
Try the Rpm Rough.
spin grommet refers to the wide gap on the grommets which allows more sideways string movement to produce spin, its not a paint job and it is why the aero pure is 1 of the the most spin friendly rackets in the market
At 4:54, I noticed the vertical strings crosses over 2 horizontal strings at the bottom part of the racket. What is the purpose for this?
To help me change stringer immediately:)
7 months later... So I guess we won't get that field comparison video...
I spent a lot of time with this racquet . I will put together a quick video really soon sorry for the delay.
@@BeckersReviews \o/
Is it head heavy?
at 2:53 the second cross string from the bottom is weaved wrong :) :) :) Whaaat????
What’s the best racquet you’ve ever used?
Depends
i still use the prince os graphite 107 -plays amazing 350 grams Thors hammer
That thing would shine in doubles =))))
Hiii! Which one looks better to you ?:)
Tough call :) I like the neon green a lot for the moment but the new one has the classic colors...
@@BeckersReviews i have the APD 2016 but i would really like to see you do a review on the 2019 version before going out there to have a look at it for myself :-) Looking forward to your review on this;-))
Sure, I am working on it :)
pure aero*
Would be better if you giveaway the2019 model hehe 😂💕
If this video gets 1m views, I will buy you one:)
When will the field comparison upload?:)
Honestly maybe never:))
@@BeckersReviews nooooo:'(
emelie I feel super awkward recording my games... it also makes my partner or opponent feel uncomfortable.. but let me tell you my findings here: the new racquet is softer and a bit more dampened. It’s slightly better on my arm but still it’s a stiffer frame than a pure strike or a blade.
I am very well connected to my racquet (stiffer frame provides power and feedback) so I eventually didn’t switch to this one. If you are buying new, go ahead and get the new one. If you are buying used.. just get the old one. If you ate into looks of any.. just get that since there’s a minor difference. But above all.. enjoy your time on court and don’t serve under arm =)
@@BeckersReviews alright!👍 Thank you for your inputs! I'll probably buy the new one.
i don't think you have enough ADs in this video maybe 5 or 7 more could be added every few seconds. SMH
Will try next time
@@BeckersReviews there are litterally 9 ads in this small video. 7 yellow dots and 1 ad at the begining and end
@@Salmonzs Those yellow dots aren't a ad always
Haaaaa
Yeah
As far as I remember the first Aero Pro Drive was black. Having used every model of this racquet I think the 2019 is a much better racquet than all the others. I restring mine in multifiliment string at 45 Ibs tension. Unless you use a lot of spin it's not the right racquet for you as you may not be able to control the power.
I have the Pure Aero and the 2019 Pure Aero Tour. The Pure Aero is a stiff racket that needs a soft multi, I bought mine prestrung with a co poly and its brassy, ceramic feel upon hitting while the 2019 PA Tour is soft like the 2013 APD. The Pure Aero was probably Babolat's worse Aero racquet.
I really don’t care about the cosmetics or technology. Go out and hit with it!
Dene Freeland where are you? We can hit togt
how much tension for the string is reccomended?
Depends on your level. Around 24 kgs (~53 pounds) works for most.
On that one I use 25/23kilos tension
A review without hitting with one ??
I spent enough time with both now, v2 is coming!
Frankly everything I said is valid. No surprises
unless you re blind the v profile is very different, thats how you know if a racquet is nore for power, or for control or for speed
well, I must be blind then... bcz those are identical to me, at least very similar
similar but not the same, the size and the shape are different and so ois the game. but if you practice enough this is the perfect racquet
:) if you practice enough, you can bagel Nadal with a frying pan:)
not with your fitness
Correction: not with my current fitness:) i will be back :)
2 point difference is nothing. Just a new paint job....it's all marketing.
They did that with the la decima etc. I think there s a difference. Is it a better racquet? Maybe . Worth the upgrade no.. but still it’s worth demoing.. My comparison video is coming out soon
So not worth upgrading to the 2019??
I think I already told too much, I am gonna ask you to wait for the full review:) don’t forget to subscribe
I’ve subscribed to your channel, please post the video ASAP as I actually demo the 2019 version for 30mins and it played better than the older pure aero imo!!
Much better? Worth the upgrade for some. Not much better but yes it s improved
