    Alcaraz's improvement from 2021 to 2022 was insane, Madrid 21-22 rematch with Nadal is proof.

      @@mazinrobox2546 Yes, I saw that. However, let's be real. It doesn't matter how good Alcaraz gets on clay. No one holds a candle to Nadal on that surface. No one.

      Rafa was so erratic in Madrid 2022 that Madrid 2021 and Indian Wells 2022 would be the appropriate comparison.
      Both times he played good tennis.
      But after he was injured in the final of Indian Wells, the end of his career began.

      The appropriate comparison would be Indian Wells. Nadal was still not injured and Alcaraz was already showing the level we saw in the next tournaments as Madrid or uso 22

      @@user-yp5ho6ro2q He still won RG afterward, with extraordinary performance against Djokovic and Zverev. The end of his career emerged when he withdrew from Wimbledon after tough battle against Fritz.

    If Nadal could get back that 2021/2022 level... With that serve, backhand and speed he'd still be able to win big things. About Alcaraz... the kid is amazing.

      It’s quite standard for a player to improve significantly between ages 17-20/21. He was 17 until May of 2021 and now he’s 21. For most athletes, the late teens to 20/21 is when someone truly becomes a pro

    I think Carlos is the Prince of Spain in Tennis as Rafa is King
    Alcaraz is just wow I just wanted to see him winning the title of King of Clay after Rafa
    He won the Rolland Garros undergoing an injury and he won it
    He successfully defended his Wimbledon Title after winning against The Legend Novak Djokovic in straight sets
    He is just a VAMOS player can't wait to see Rafa and Alcaraz representing Spain in men's doubles and teaming together..

    Indeed Carlitos has improved dramatically & showed promise at such an early age. Even the Big 3 took whole lot of years to master the skill set. But Carlitos has changed the way Tennis will be played from now on. We saw Federer revolutionising in early 2000s & now this wonder is just nuts. He possess every trick & skill that a tennis fan wants to see on court. I feel lucky to witness Big 3 & now Carlitos carrying on the torch. Vamos Carlitos 💛

    We are unlucky that we couldn't get to see Alcaraz compete with Federer and Rafa ( only two matches) ...But we are lucky that getting to see Alcaraz - Djokovic rivalry...

    Hope rafa clash with Djokovic in R2 ,then rafa vs Tsitsipas quarterfinals and rafa vs alcaraz in final .this three matches will be in epic in clay because of their matchups and they didnt meet since 2022

    Alcaraz career most amazing stat is that he has 4 slams and 49 losses at atp level. Crazy ( 69 when include qualifiers and itf ). Even big three didn't have so many less losses at his age

    In this 1st meeting Rafa was bullying Carlos in the the first. In the 2nd Carlos got over his ab issue and proceeded to erase the 1st set from his mind. Incredible mental drive from very young Carlos 😮

    Nadal will be the king of clay forever but Carlitos will be the king of all surfaces. Not even Big 3 managed to master all surfaces at the same time. This guy is not from planet Earth.

      Have you heard about Novak Djokovic !??? Mastered clay, mastered grass ,Mastered hard court. Carlos is young and its too early to give him the title of king .. and there’s no more big three right now its just about Novak and he is in his last few seasons. So basically big three are about to retire and not anymore in their prime.

      @@rdshah0423 I specifically mentioned the time required to master all 3 surfaces. Novak is a legend no doubt and i do respect him alot infact i respect all these Big 3 cauz they changed he way Tennis will always be played. But Novak himself took alot of time and years to master his game. He wasnt natural infact he adapted and learned. Carlos is on another level and Novak too appreciates his talents. He is going to win many Grand Slams if he stays healthy for sure.

    After next gen finals 2021 to Indian wells 2022 the guy took a huge leap interms of skill and strength ! he skipped aus open in order to complete the process but boy he turned up like beast ! i was worried for their match up at 2022 IW cause he was like a live wire destroying bautista agut without mercy and my fear came true as nadal injured him during the process of winning over and that hindered most of his season in the upcoming days and glad he was able to win the FO one last time !!

    I can’t believe how good Rafa was just two years ago..I believe he won his last French in 2022. Old age and injuries have really gotten the best of him in two years…doesn’t look like the same player now…though flashes of greatness in the double today, he can’t sustain it. Just happy that Carlos is now taking over the mantle…hope destroys Chokovic in their next few meetings!

    It was a shame that Carlos never fought a strong Rafa. If he had shown up three more years earlier, he might have been able to compete with the strong Rafa, Roger.

      I know it's not exactly what you mean, but the closest match we have is Indian Wells. Nadal was playing amazing and Alcaraz was already showing the level that won him Miami, Madrid and the us open. It's the best match in terms of having both in a good level. In Madrid 21 Alcaraz was still forming his level and in 22 Nadal was having a hell with injuries.

    2021 2004 alcaraz first yr on tour. 2022 alc 2005 Nadal won first slam as 19
    2023 alc 2006 Nadal won second slam
    Very same career trajectory..alc is more offensive though like roger

      Nadal will forever be the best clay court player ever though. Alcaraz won’t sniff Rafa’s records on that surface, but I think he will have more success on the other surfaces than Rafa did
