As a European, I've never understood trucks. But then I moved to US and understood - recently we bought a farm/larger property and found ourselves needing to tow and haul frequently. We tried our best to not have to get a truck, but had to. I am not here to explain to anyone why I have a truck, my point being is now I understand those that use it frequently and for that, I reaaaally like our F150 (albeit used 2017).
Europeans are generally dense about American culture, and Americans are generally ignorant or clueless about European culture. As someone from Europe who has lived the majority of my life now in America I still don’t get how Europeans don’t understand our need for trucks. We tow more, we drive much longer distances and at higher speeds, do more with our vehicles (skiing, hiking/camping, farm activity, shooting and hunting, road trips, DIY, etc.) and for Europeans to just dismiss those facts often times shows their arrogance.
@@larsandersson5974 Eh, that definitely depends on where you've been. Big towns in suburbs? Yeah, tad silly for a loaded truck that can tow a ton. If you're outside of city limits (we now live in semi-rural OH, meaning big towns are about 20-45min away) and LOT of farms, you see a lot of animal towing and hauling of stuff, which is also what we got ours for.
@@vitaly6312 Yeah, I am currently back home in Czech visiting for work & personal after not having been here for 2yrs due to covid and the culture is def still changing and at odds with each other a bit. Europeans love their sport wagons or "utility vans" (like Renault Kangoo, not sure what the category is called), that's all you see in Alps and hoking trips and such. Trucks are still fairly rare here. In US, you can't really get sport wagons and those kind of vehicles or they're not updated at all.
@@larsandersson5974 trucks still have a lot of interior cabin space and can be really comfortable to drive. Plus the high seated position allows you to see more when driving.
We started shopping for SUVs, came home with an F-150. It really puts into perspective how they dropped the ball on the explorer. It's like the F-150 is at least a trim level higher and better fit and finish. If you don't go crazy on the options there is incredible capability and good value there. The profit margin on an optioned out Lariat and above must be massive.
I have no idea why they decided to make the Explorer worse. I like the exterior but the interior on the new models is terrible. I have a 2016 Limited Explorer and the interior is much better than the new Explorer.
@@samclark3370 I think the design of the new Explorer’s interior aside from the massive portrait screen is good, but materials are not up to par with the competition.
The CD6 RWD architecture is very very expensive and in 2016, the projected multi billion dollar cost was supposed to be spread across many planned Ford and Lincoln models by 2022. Stupid Hackett killed all but 2 of them in 2017, so Explorer cost cutting took place, scrapping the previous higher end interior materials and more. Cannot go from a dated FWD architecture to a brand new RWD basis, with new engines and stay close to the same prices.
@@grantdillon1083 agree... thought the seasts should be more comfortable though. Just like savageese said though the demos had seat wear already. Should be easier to get into 3rd row as well. screen looked like an afterthought and poorly utilized too.
I think this is one of the most positive reviews I’ve seen from this channel. This is was a damn love letter to the F150. I have to get a new F150 now 😂
I recently spec'd out a brand new base trim 3500 Cummins and it was pushing 80k. My question is who tf are the people leasing(see: renting) these things?
I just bought a cheap XLT.....cheap being $49K fully loaded. But you guys are are correct that it has now replaced out old Family Hauler. The kids love it because of the amount of room in the passenger space. Now I'm waiting on the Lightning.
@Black Man agreed, if you don’t drive a Semi…. You don’t drive a truck 🙄 …. A truck is the best family vehicle ever, you throw all your crap in the bed, attach your trailer and take off on a trip… meanwhile there is plenty of space inside to stretch out. And this F-150 with its Autopilot Jr takes it to another lever
You must mean a used one or definitely not "fully loaded", because a truly "fully loaded" XLT will be like $70k. I've just built several on the Ford build and price tool and they all come to low to mid 60's.
0:56 Taking a nap on a job site could make this the choice truck for municipal fleets. But is there still enough room for Mark to do his pillates routine on the rear floor ?
So I grew up in a small town with a Dodge (now Ram) and Ford Dealerships. You basically had to subscribe to one or the other. I chose Ram, so I was a little Ram proud for a very long time. A few years ago I started paying attention to what Ford was doing. It only took about a six minute test drive to fully convert me. I LOVE what Ford does with their interiors. The EcoBoost performance is incredible. The title of the video for sure hits the nail on the head. This really is the truck perfected.
It really is truck perfected, and you have one and you trend set for the rest of neighborhood others will buy one because they understand who the king of the hill is. I've been in Eco's since 2011 and they are really something special. I will say the old ranger we had one that went 300k and had no engine troubles.
@@nathandeparis9852 I was about a month away from putting a deposit on the new Bronco, but the delivery dates were so far out that I went with a Wrangler EcoDiesel. I own one of these, you guys are spot on with how much work was put into the interior. Mine is a base model, and it feels like a nice place to be. Gone are the days of even a base model truck being a basic or stripped out interior.
It’s crazy to me how similar this truck looks to the old one but how desirable it is not because of one specific feature like the interior but how great it is on everything
@Black Man Tell me what's stopping you from ordering a base f-150 for fleet purposes. Also, if your truck has higher payload and towing figures than ever before, I'm pretty sure it qualifies as a real truck lol.
@Black Man Modern vehicles are more durable than ever, and I see expensive trucks hauling and towing all of the time. But I agree, if you want a super durable, affordable but capable truck, get a Maverick. Unless you need to tow a million lbs, the maverick is your best option.
@Black Man I'm guessing you missed the part where I said "we're just getting started" as in, we're still going to own that car 15-20 years from now. Probably even longer than that lol.
I watch a lot of car review videos (too many actually), and you guys are KING. Funny, inciteful, technical, etc. And I feel this way despite the fact that you slammed by beloved Tiguan (a whiff on your part). Keep up the great work guys.
Just wait until they pull a doug demuro and offer 'cars and kids' at every opportunity. I have faith that they won't. but you never know. Just like I never watch a demuro video. By the way, the chevy my friend has beats the ride quality on my f150 by a mile. Unless it's towing something, the ecoboost really shines there.
A truck big enough to live in, tall enough you need a bed utility ladder to get into the back, and expensive enough that I'm wondering if you have to join an HOA before signing the contract. They've done great things with this model, even if I see my chances at owning one slipping further away as the years go by and the price gets higher. Great video lads, Looking forward to seeing what's new with the raptor.
You guys NAILED it with the Final Thoughts!!! You killed it Mark, please keep it coming, I couldn’t stop laughing 😂. And Ape style Jack driving the only way he knows how LOL.
Jack is the first person ever to expose ford and call this damn truck a refresh. I’ve been saying it since the day it came out NOT AN ALL NEW TRUCK. Marketing shouldn’t equal blatant lies. Same chassis… Tons of improvements. Heavy refresh. Doesn’t make the truck any less fantastic. The 15-20’ was great. This only improves on a good thing. With these manufacturers could keep it real. Thanks for that, Jack!!
I love this truck! That color is perfect and the orange-ish trim compliments it well. It really is the dream truck. As much as I like the Raptor, it is too impractical and too big, and the F250/350 rides too rough. Granted they each have their purpose. But this one is the best if you only had to choose one! Thanks for the review. ✌️
I have a shop in TX and see all brand pickups. They are all very good and they all will have high chance of some engine problems if you follow the oil service warning system in truck. If you use remote start and/or you have stop n go traffic and short (
100%! Oil is way cheaper than having to replace an engine. I've been changing oil at ~3,500 and most of my cars have gone close to 200k miles before selling them. No engine issues what so ever.
True, if Ford screws up the F150, they would go bankrupt. This truck is not only the best selling product for Ford but the best selling product overall in the car industry.
@@expsterm1 You have to keep in mind fleet sales are the biggest for any teuck company and I can tell you in the past our work trucks were garbage mechanics always working on them

I love the fruit plate outtake and final thought comedy. 😋 Been watching for years and made purchase decisions based apon these Savages reviews and I couldn't be happier. Mark and Jack thank you.
I bought my 2018 F150 XLT Supercrew brand new with .7 miles on it for $40k out the door. Almost every option was ticked on the XLT model so it's pretty much a Lariat with cloth seats. Now, after 3 years and 70k miles, the truck is worth $38.5k and the new ones are going for $60k. There has to be a point where people stop buying these things. This prices are just so insane now.
New truck prices aside, your purchase seems to be holding its value quite well. After 3 years and 70,000 miles you can still get 38,000 for it? You've only lost 2 grand. That's seems pretty good. But for 60 grand, I'd rather buy a new Class C RV. I'd rather have the option of taking weekend trips in it.
@@CarsTechWood The average income in the USA is $31,000 annually. Financial experts agree that 10% of your salary should go toward your transportation. That means driving a $3000 dollar beater. Would you limit yourself to a car in this price range? Or would you finance something that's more reliable and less costly to own? Figuring in maintenance costs for the dilapidated banger.
Fleet sales actually make up 27-37 percent of ford sales month to month. That doesnt include small business. So its actually a very large portion of sales. Those numbers arent specific to f150 but to ford overall.
My new F150 is absolutely perfect. So perfect that out of the past month of ownership it has spent over two weeks at the dealership. Great interior. Great power. If only it would actually drive without shuddering violently. Perfect, though. I guess except for reliability.
stick with japanese. I live in japan and own a 2020 hilux and a 2010 tundra. Either has never been at a dealer for repairs. However, i do like the interior of the f150 better. good luck to ya
It's a Ford that sounds like you got a good one. Seriously though Ford has given up on quality. Ram is a FAR better truck followed by GM. By all accounts the F150 is the worst truck made today. Overpriced, unreliable garbage.
Yeah I wouldn't rely on these new trucks, they seem to have engineered planned obsolescence in these. I'm not a brand fan boy, but I have a 21 year old silverado 5.3 with 200k miles still on original powertrain. ( Off road in it too) I have a mustang gt too, and the new f-150 is really appealing but I would treat these new trucks as luxury cars rather than trucks.
If I were in the market for a full-size pickup this would be my pick. An aluminum body is a step above, and the engine lineup actually seems fully baked. The domestic competitors seem to be more questionably made, and the new Tundra just feels like a step backward rather than making it the most desirable. Now get to yacht and continue your leisure time, gentlemen.
one major selling point to me is that the F150 is still available in a 6 seat configuration. I want the Tundra soooo bad but it's only got 5 seats! not that I use 6 seats all the time, but it's nice to have when the occasion arises. And that Ford always has decent incentives and low interest rates. Toyota never has incentives and interest rates are through the roof!
Good video. You explained very well why I prefer the f150 over other trucks. Ford is prone to plenty of mistakes, but in the F-150 they have clearly devoted soo much time and money to getting it right. The other trucks can all be great and outperform in one way or another, but they come with a lot more caveats. I look forward to the upcoming f-150 videos.
Yeah, I'm a little surprised they didn't start with that, as in my opinion that's the best truck to get (as a new truck owner of a used F150 that I wish was a hybrid but sadly isn't)

The older I get (34) the more desirable these trucks are to me. I love my 18 raptor for similar reasons. It is so comfortable and I can sit in it for hours driving across Texas.
This looks amazing! The previous generation was solid throughout it's lifecycle, and this one should be great as well. Nicely done review as always! BTW, I realized you guys compared it to the Ram and Tundra without even mentioning Chevy. That's tells you how bad the current Silverado is 🤣😢 Not a fanboy of Ford or any other brand, it just feels odd to watch an F-150 review without hearing comparisons to the Silverado and vice-versa
For a Ford diehard(stock owner) I really like the look of the Chevy Silverado. I didn't think the Camaro front end would look good on a truck, I was wrong. After the Cobalt SS I promised I would never buy another Chevy.
GMs warranty costs are more than half of what Ford's are. The F150 is junk and will spend more trhan double the time in the shop as the Silverado. But hey...built Ford proud right?
@@JustaShrimp372 Yeah there's that too. No truck is pretty, but the current squinty Silverado looks just wrong to my eyes. Especially when they just have their LED accent lights on - they look like inverted brackets for no reason.
When somebody starts a truck review talking about interior "features" that's when I know to leave. Nobody who uses a truck for what it's supposed to be used for gives a fuck about interior features.

As much as I understand the appeal of the V8 (I got one in my Bullitt), the V6 in the F150 is an excellent engine. We have a used 2017 F150, when the 10spd tranny was new and not yet super well tuned, but nowadays I'd argue best engine to get. Longevity is a question still, but I think we're past the days of turbo automatically equaling a crappy reliability.

The only thing that kills it for me is the eco-beast. Give me the 5.0 in the tremor package and you’d have a sale. Real world mpg and reliability all point to the 5.0.
I agree I wish you could get these trucks ordered with exactly what you want. I too would go for the 5.0 but I would also like the 6.5 bed , the 7.2k power generator and bench seat with column shift. You cannot get a Tremor built like that. Love the Tremor package but do not like the 3.5 , 5ft.bed is worthless to me and need the 7.2k power for my rv since this F150 can tow a good amount of weight now. I believe with a longer bed and 5.0 it could probably tow even more , plus increase payload number.
my 2020 F-150 is a very capable tow vehicle. The eco-boost has tons of power and torque on tap and better than expected fuel economy. But payload capacity is the thing. Mine is rated for 1798 lbs. With a full tank and the travel trailer hitched up, there's not much capacity left. Good thing the kids are out of the house!
I like it. The tech is what sells this truck... However, the RAM's ride quality (without optional air suspension), is better IMO. My truck rankings: Tech: F150 Ride Quality: RAM 1500 Powertrain: F150 (so many engine options... from 2.7 V6, 3.5 V6, 3.5 V6 Hybrid, to 5.0 V8.) Overall looks: RAM Reliability: Tundra.
Which begs a question - regardless of how silly or even unethical/shady some ADMs are, if you can't purchase the vehicle for that price, is that really its price? MSRP is meaningless mostly anyway. Price is what you'd pay for those right out the door, right?
@@richardnavratil9661 I see what you mean however I have seen decently optioned TRXs sell for mid 80k. As the other guy mentioned there are market adjustments on the tremor as well pushing it to 75-80k.

On the american trucks, yes. Chevy and Ford have already issued statements about the trucks rusting on the lots around 5 years ago. Japanese seem to use better metal. haven't heard anything of the German trucks rusting.
It's not uncommon... TFL Truck covered it in one of their videos (I think on Andre's F-150 Powerboost). My 2019 RAM 1500 had it too, I live in Mass so salt on the roads is very common. It's minor surface rust, on things like the rear axle and control arms. I've take a rattle can to a few spots.
My mom and aunt bought a 2018 f150 xlt just yesterday for their business. It was between that and a silverado. My advice to my aunt was ford doesn't even care if their other cars have doors on them as long as their f150 is good, if the silverado has 2 disaster years, they'll cancel it and launch a new truck in the same segment with a different name. This is everything to ford so it better be good.
Yeah if it wasn’t exploding fuel cells it was faulty cruise control wiring. Every Ford I’ve owned has been recalled for a fire hazard, fortunately none has ever caught on fire haha.

Let's be real here: Even though I own a 2017 Toyota Tacoma SR with a 4-Cylinder, I am STILL a Sucker for the Ford F-150 Line of Trucks. That Truck is so commonplace where I live (Augusta, GA), that almost 1 out of every 10 Vehicles I see on the road (At least, that's how I see it) are Ford F-150s of Various Generations. Heck, Some of the People I know from the Church I go to Drive Ford F-150's! (Lariat, XLT, and STX Trims, BTW) So it's no surprise to me that it's the Most Popular Truck Out There. Heck, before I bought my Tacoma, I WAS looking at F-150's! (Primarily ones with the 3.3L V6 or 2.7L Ecoboost, since I mostly Drive Rather than Tow or Go Off-Road, and I am one of those people who just own a Truck just to say 'I Drive a Truck', I'm not denying that) Onto the F-150 Tremor: I honestly don't mind this Trim Level, and I think it does what it is supposed to do. However, Once you start adding a lot of Options to this Truck, I'd tell people they're better off jumping to the Raptor or Dropping to the XLT-Trim if they don't really need all those features. However, I am STILL not a Fan of the 3.5L Ecoboost V6. It's probably the Most Inconsistent Engine in their Options. I've heard some People Say 'It's the Best Engine Out There', and Other Say 'Total Garbage, Keeps Breaking Down'. I'd still stick with the 5.0L Coyote V8 or Base 3.3L Duratec V6 if you want something that's going to be 'Apocalypses-Levels of Reliable'. If there's One Ecoboost Engine that I might Advocate for, it's the 2.7 Ecoboost V6. I've Test-Driven it MULTIPLE Times and have had a BLAST Every Single Time. However, I still have my concerns about Reliability on this one as well, but I've heard it's better than the 3.5 by a MASSIVE Margin. I'm also still not a fan of the 10-Speed Automatic Transmission. I STILL feel like that's too many gears and it becomes a common source of failure in these Trucks. However, I have seen my share of people who've taken care of these Transmissions by doing Routine Maintenance, so I wonder if the Same Argument Supporting CVT Transmissions also fits for the 10-Speed Transmission in the F-150. Overall, Ford continues their Tradition of Being the Bar for a Half-Ton Pickup Truck with the Ford F-150. And it's obvious as to why that's the Case: You Can Essentially Customize This Truck to Your Liking! Want a Truck with More Function than Features? A Base XL with the 3.3L V6 or 5.0L V8 can do that. Do You Want the Best Off-Road Truck Money Can Buy? The Raptor might be for you. Want Something That's More Luxurious but can still Handle whatever you throw at it? There's the King Ranch, Platinum, or Limited Trims! You can essentially build this truck however the hell you want it, and That's why the F-150 is Ford's Magnum Opus. It is THE VEHICLE you Identify Ford By. PERIOD. Every Detractor of the F-150 cites lack of Reliability, But Most F-150's I've seen broken down for ANY Reason are usually Old Ones with a Ton of Mileage. RARELY do I ever see a Newer F-150 Broken Down UNLESS it's one with the Ecoboost V6 Engines. So Yeah, even though I am a Toyota Tacoma Owner (And a Proud One at That), I cannot deny the History and Legacy that the Ford F-150 has. It's basically the Undertaker of Pickup Trucks, IMO. SoundFX09, Signing Out.
Keep the tocama hell even buy the new tundra. Ford really is garbage trust me I see rams everywhere to and they are garbage horrible reliability! How many of those owners do you think has had there f150 in the shop that you don't know about? Think about that!
Still love my '18 RCSB 2wd 2.7 EB F150. Easy torque and decent steering make it fun, and being a RCSB 2wd made it light and affordable. I will rue the day when Ford stops making a RCSB F150. (Though I did do a wheel/tire upgrade as the stock 17" alloys were very narrow/small).
My 2017 F-150's twin turbo went out at 153,600'ish miles and it was going to cost me nearly $4,000 to replace. I sold the truck minus the repair to the dealership and swore the piece of shit off. At 79,000 the twin turbo had to have the barring replaced. It was leaking oil at around 101,000. Those two repairs cost me about $750.00 to fix. The entire front end had to be replaced by 100,000 miles which cost me $3,100'ish to replace. Had some electrical issues with the seats by 120,000 miles. Got horrific mpg towing which was usually around 7.5-8 mpg. Around town was 15-16 and highway was 20-21 mpg. Bought a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro double cab the week I sold the F-150 and wish to God I had bought the Tundra in 2017 instead.
The rear axle is NOT a limited slip! The rear axle has an E-locker and it is a HD 9.75" - 3/4 floating axle (similar to a Dana 60) and it can be rated for "up to 5300lbs" with the right wheels and tires on it. When you compare tire size, payload and towing this is on par with a Power Wagon.
I do wish the drivetrain was a bit better, father owns the TTV6 from 2019 and at 4k miles he has had a check engine light for boost pressure issues, an issue seen by many others, besides that, theyre comfy and overall pretty nice to daily
As a 2022 Tremor owner my quick version review as follows; very comfortable & luxurious, definitely overpriced, draws attention wherever it goes, great power, bad fuel mileage, fun to drive, likely not reliable long-term, I Love it.

They nailed it! Perfect

Half of these people lease them and what they have 8 year payments now? If there's a will there's a way.
New truck prices aside, your purchase seems to be holding its value quite well. After 3 years and 70,000 miles you can still get 38,000 for it? You've only lost 2 grand. That's seems pretty good. If I were in the market for a full-size pickup this would be my pick. An aluminum body is a step above, and the engine lineup actually seems fully baked.

@@deni8814 I don't follow. Plenty of 2.7EB with high mileage. If it's looked after it should last.
Mark's been growing with each episode for the last couple of months. He can now look at Jack from the top at the shop. That's how you fix childhood complexes. Magic or a box from Amazon?
Mark, you're so bougie! Love the video! Hilarious yet informative! Nice work!
Let's be real here:
Even though I own a 2017 Toyota Tacoma SR with a 4-Cylinder, I am STILL a Sucker for the Ford F-150 Line of Trucks.
(Lariat, XLT, and STX Trims, BTW)
So it's no surprise to me that it's the Most Popular Truck Out There. Heck, before I bought my Tacoma, I WAS looking at F-150's! (Primarily ones with the 3.3L V6 or 2.7L Ecoboost, since I mostly Drive Rather than Tow or Go Off-Road, and I am one of those people who just own a Truck just to say 'I Drive a Truck', I'm not denying that)
Onto the F-150 Tremor:
I honestly don't mind this Trim Level, and I think it does what it is supposed to do.
And it's obvious as to why that's the Case:
You Can Essentially Customize This Truck to Your Liking!
I'm buying the maverick hybrid.. Screw the over priced 150
Crazy, that watching this video I realised that you guy live or film in the area where I live. Wow!
At $70K, it ought to be just what a fruit-plate-snacking vessel captain needs. What’s the rubber floor mat/AM-radio edition cost?
aka fleet version

Looking forward to hearing your review on the GMC Sierra 1500. Definitely curious how this compares to that.
Hopefully the 2022 Silverado can finally stand a chance at being all-around great truck since the interior has been redesigned
And Sierra
I would like to thank brandon for this amazing review and F-150 price
I do wish the drivetrain was a bit better, father owns the TTV6 from 2019 and at 4k miles he has had a check engine light for boost pressure issues, an issue seen by many others, besides that, theyre comfy and overall pretty nice to daily
It's a ford. I dont care how far they have come . They will always struggle with reliability.
LMAO
Just have my boat ready!! Sums it up perfect
The new tundra hasn’t even been released yet and this F150 is already making it look out dated
The new tundra has been selling for at least a week now
As a 2022 Tremor owner my quick version review as follows; very comfortable & luxurious, definitely overpriced, draws attention wherever it goes, great power, bad fuel mileage, fun to drive, likely not reliable long-term, I Love it.
Finally dual exhaust.. took them long enough , people’s mini vans have had dual exhaust for years
70k for a Ford 🤔 nah .
Absolutely love the final thoughts.
Do you need a truck? No
Are you a contractor? No
Do you work in construction? No
Do you live in a region where you need 4x4? No
Why do you need a truck? Because everyone has one and I the bank can loan me money at low interest rate.
Exactly my thoughts. I don't get why so many people buy a massive truck to drive their kids to and back from school, or the occasional Walmart trip when any CUV would do the job.
You forgot compensation issues…
Do you need a car to live? No
Do you need a house to live? No
Do you need a 401k to live? No
Do you need a cellphone to live? No
Just cause you don't need one doesn't mean everyone else shouldn't have one. You just poor.
Dumbest comment ever? I vote yes. You could make a list for anything. Now do an SUV. Or convertible. That would be fun.
@@Lumpia_In_Texas so you need to loan urself to get an F150 to show off u have unpaid wealth? I think your mind is poor.
The good thing about SG is that they completely neuter the bad vehicles. When they give a glowing review you can trust it.
If only they were reliable...
Making stuff up in your mind again?
The ones equipped with the 5.0 Coyote engine seem to be rather dependable. We’re seeing more new Tundras with issues than we are Ford F Series trucks.
Omg guys you doing a excellent job !! I love the ending
70k, for a damn truck. Heck no.
