FIrst of all, I want to express my appreciation for your time and effort to really give us a thorough review and to show us that even though this line is definitely geared to a very specific skin type, you can make it work for you. You look gorgeous per usual! :) I am 34 and have normal-oily skin. So right now, I definitely don't think I could handle this line of makeup. I also want to point out that even though the only scent comes from essential oils, it could still be irritating and even damaging to the skin depending on what oils are used. So those with sensitivities should do their research on what essential oils are being used in products. 'Clean' or 'natural' beauty brands tend to taut their use of essential oils because they're natural without acknowledging that essential oils can be sensitizing or damaging to the skin too.
Yes, THANK YOU for mentioning the essential oils! My skin is actually more likely to react to them than "artificial" scents. Just because something is "natural" doesn't mean it's automatically better. (FTR, I'm 45 with oily-ish sensitive skin, and live in the South, so these products aren't for me, either.)
Yes and as a matter of fact they are probably MORE LIKELY to cause irritation to the skin than man-made fragrance/parfum. Imo, "clean" skin care/makeup is just a bunch of marketing BS.
@@christinunya72 Essential oils used in skin care are actually anti-inflammatory and have antioxidant properties. Man-made ingredients are petroleum-based, which can cause hormonal imbalances, anxiety, and a wholes host of issues internally, which is why there is a market for natural products. Many people choose to avoid petroleum based products and chemicals because of the potential health risks. I would encourage research from an unbiased, non monetized sources to get an accurate and correct perspective on natural products.
If anyone could do a 100% drama-free Jones Road review and tutorial it’s you! You are a blessing to the beauty community and also to me. Getting ready with you on Saturday morning is always a highlight of my weekend 😄💜
For my oily/combo girls, use the Dynessa Myricks Yummy skin blurring balm in combination with the Jones Road face sticks! You get the most natural/flawless look. So good! Also-Jones Road mascara is the best mascara I own-but it’s one of those that has to dry out quite a bit first. Once it does-woah, it’s better than everything.
As I get older, the more I appreciate that not every things is meant for everyone. Sometimes we just have to say "this wasn't meant for me, and that's ok... there's a million other choices".
I’d be more concerned with it not being air tight and bacteria that would build up in those packaging choices. And for them being so emollient, those packages won’t keep it as moist as it needs to.
I really respect how honest you are about these things and you're not just out to sell us on anything. That's what i love about you. And you are always kind even when you don't love something.
It seems like every single product that's geared toward "mature" skin is under the assumption that EVERYONE gets dry as they get older. As a 51 yr old oil slick, I'm sitting over here just waiting to throw my money at a line that understands some of us oily girls are STILL oily as we age. There is NO WAY under the sun these products would work for me, even in the dead of winter. Nevermind our 110+ degree humid summer weather!! Edit: But Em, I would watch you apply and talk about cake icing on your face! 😂Ilysm!! ❤️
Finally someone said what I've been thinking all this time. I turned 68 today and I still have oily skin, oily lids and breakouts and cannot go without loose powdered face and eyelids. Also so true about essential oils as I have extreme sensitivity to essential oils. I stay away from anything that touts " natural" or " clean". A plus for us oily people is that less wrinkles for us is a real thing, so take heart.
I love Bobbi Brown and her old company(owned by estee lauder now) but this is atrocious. Everything from the name to the products are so bad. Bobbi Brown what were you thinking?? There is nothing to understand about a cosmetic company if it doesn't do anything.
As a person with dry skin living in a very arid geographical area, I have gained a new appreciation of the value that these products might have for me. Usually people talk about products for summer that are good for high humidity, something that I don’t experience.
Em, your experience really shows in this type of video! ‘I’m going to make these products work for me’ is so helpful, much more so than others. Thank you!
Hi Emily! I love this foundation. I have very dry skin. Bobbi Brown had a Foundation balm like this years ago that I LOVED! It was discontinued and I am thrilled she brought it back.Everything smells like a spa. I like her individual shadows as well😃 Lisa❤

Hi Sunshine 🌞, I've never heard of this brand coming from Bobbi brown. At my age (56) I need something like this. Thanks for bringing this to our attention! You're such a sweet person!
Thanks for your thoughtful and balanced review of this brand, Emily. I've been enjoying some of Bobbi's makeup for decades. I was a huge fan of her shimmer bricks, gel liners, glosses and lipsticks. I could definitely see using the lip & cheek stick. I do think this line could be great for summer, although not so much for those with oily/combo skin.
Back before RUclips, those Bobbi Brown books helped me so much. I love that she has created a new brand and your thoughtful review here definitely helps me decide what I want to try.
I love you too Em! Thanks so much for creating this video. I have been interested in Jones Road for about a year now and have had trouble finding tutorials or even first impressions from RUclips creators because I think people are either too confused by the products, or unwilling to figure out how they can work for them. I can't tell you how helpful this is to me - it's always so nice to see a 'normal' person who is not a makeup artist use products in ways they find practical. I love Bobbi and her aesthetic, however that doesn't mean everything she does is practical for everyone. Also, I really enjoyed your eye look today. You are the only person on RUclips I've been able to find who has simple 1, 2, and 3 shadow tutorials, and I really appreciate you doing those (it's actually how I originally found your channel). I know -like you said- sometimes it's fun to spend an hour using as many products as possible, but it's also really valuable especially for beginners to have a foundation of simple, easy-to-follow routines to build on. I'd love it if you would incorporate some more simple eye looks especially in your new videos.
I really appreciate your in-depth reviews rather than the first impressions that so many tend to upload. Only by using the product can you really understand how well it works. I know your type of reviews take a lot more thought and time-I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate you! 👍🏻❤️
Thanks as always for such a thoughtful video. I appreciate that you put the work into understanding the product and that your reviews are fair and honest. I am curious why you used both a loose powder and a powder foundation. Maybe you could do a future video explaining the different uses and benefits of various types of powders, when to combine them, etc.
Thank you Emily for a thorough, honest, and good faith review. I wouldn’t expect anything different. I’ve been following since your beauty broadcast live days. You are one of a kind and this community would not be the same without you.
Thank your for this video. So glad to watch someone who did not slam these products. Great review and tutorial. I have some of these products and I have been able to make them work for me. They are definitely not intended for a full glam look.
Happy Saturday to my favorite content creator and her family! I’ve been following your fun experiences on Instagram and I hope you are all having a super fantastic time! aw thank you!!! We had an awesome time at Cheer live last night - getting ready to go to the aquarium this morning! :D Thank you for watching & I hope you have a great weekend!
I love the miracle balm! I use the natural, colorless shade. I use it to make myself dewy, on the backs of my hands, as a lip treatment, for cuticles, and to tame flyaway hairs. I’m almost finished with my second tub - I do wish it was less expensive. I also enjoy how creamy and easy to blend the concealer is - I’ll definitely be trying the blush & lip sticks next. Thanks for the video!
Always my best part of Saturday morning. My coffee my porch and Emily. I just love your approach to different videos. Like today how you make it work for you. You will ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE PERSON on you tube. Happy Saturday everyone. Please have a wonderful day
So nice to see someone who took the time to really use these products instead of one time and done hated it. I am 53 and have been looking at getting Jones Road for a while now. After watching your video I am going to put in my first order.
I really appreciate your super informative review, Emily. I’d been on the fence about the brand and you helped me realize it’s a no for me. Wishing everyone a great weekend!
I'd like to see a vid on the base products again during the Winter to see if your approach stays the same or changes. Thank you for doing a balanced approach, all that TT drama was a mess!
Looking forward to hearing your opinion! I am turning 55 soon and have noticed that certain makeup products do not work the same on me that they once did just a year or 2 ago!
I completely understand! Between aging and menopause my skin is constantly changing. Even mascara is different now that I have less lashes. I also never use to do my brows but I have to now.
Thank you thank you for making this video!!!! I bought Jones road not to long ago and was having trouble knowing how to use it. I just did my makeup while watching this and it helped so so much!
I have started using both the WTF and the Miracle Balm and I love both. I have seen influencers try to slab the products on too thick and it never works out for them, so they give the products a bad review. I have found using a stippling brush and using only a small amount to the face. The Miracle Balm requires dabbing it on the cheeks with fingers. There's a learning curve because these products have beeswax in them and are more like skin care than makeup. I put WTF over my sunscreen and then dab my cheeks with the Miracle Balm. It is not in the least bit sticky and dries so beautifully, and lasts all day. A little bit goes a long way and is just beautiful when applied correctly.
Thanks Emily for your review. I have just purchased many of these products and have watched MANY how-to videos. It seems that lots of reviewers have missed the point of this line, but you got it spot on. Your look was gorgeous. I plan to try the miracle balm under WTF with the face stick last as that seems to give the most natural look. Thanks for showing what just a tiny amount of the miracle balm did for your complexion. I can't wait to receive these now and play. The company recommended the balm in two colors, one of which was the brighter pink. I'm wary of it, but if it doesn't work for me I'll try the lip and cheek stick. It looked very beautiful on you. Glad I discovered your channel. Cheers!
So.... just a sec stays on the eyes for just a sec? I could not resist! Beautiful look that you pulled together... I too use cream products over powder... and as long as you do not misuse the powder amount.. it works! Have a greasy rest of the weekend!
Essential oils are still fragrance and can be damaging to the skin barrier. I hate the way "clean" beauty brands act like it's better because it's natural. Natural doesn't equal better.
@@glamazon2016 yeah I mean my skin isnt sensitive to fragrance but it's so unnecessary and possibly bad for some people so why keep not only adding it but over fragrancing (not a word lol) products.
I have been using the Jones Road products for about a year. Love the Bronze miracle balm as a blush and use the Cool Rose Shimmer face oil as a cheek highlighter. The mascara and blonde brow pencil are great-love the fibers in the brow pencil and the mascara really lengthens the lashes. Also, I use the eye cream under the face pencil #2 in the under eye area.
Finally the review that Bobbi and Jones Road deserves!!! This was so well done. You really helped make sense of the brand. I love full glam but I also love an easy everyday quick look because my reality is working from home and being a mom. I am a longtime admirer of Bobbi and her aesthetic. People should know she does actually know what she’s doing! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for your honest personal experience. You always look lovely. As a more mature person, I do have dry skin but that is not my primary issue. Super moist products marry with other products and slide into my fine lines. I need to cover sun spots, dark circles and broken capillaries.
Em, love this video. You're always so knowledgable, informative, honest, down to earth, beautiful & funny. Thx for all your videos! Ive learned so much from you. So genuinely wanted to say thx, i really appreciate you!🌼🌸🌷😊🌸😊🌷🌸🌼
Hi Emily! Happy Saturday. This is why I adore your videos and respect your opinion. You take your time, work wirh the products and come up with a review, that works for you. AND, to me that is one of the what make-up is all about. Products are not 'bad' or 'awful'...it may not work for you and so many YT'er's slam products when in fact it just did not work for them. Thank you for taking your time with Jones Road. I love the balms and the powder shadows. Have a great weekend!
Your honest take was the best one I’ve heard so far. You always give a fair assessment of the product but I really respect your honesty and the integrity you used with your approach to how you would Make This Makeup Work For You. Great job as always and I liked the little pop of color on the outside of the dark shadow too 😉
I use Golden hour miracle balm by placing some on the back of my hand and adding a blush powder of whatever color I fancy that day and mixing it in. Then I apply with a brush or my fingers, tapping and never rubbing, to get a beautiful sheer tint of color that looks so natural. I also use this balm with blush added in, plain, or over nude lipstick for a gorgeous pout! I will also mix in my powder highlights or bronzers for my decolletage, nose, chin, and cupids bow as well. I love WTF and the miracle balms. This line is so perfect for that glow from within look while acting also as skincare. I get compliments all the time! I hope to get some eyeshadow and a few other balms soon.
This look is elegant and understated. I think it speaks well for mature women like myself who are trying to get away from the full coverage looks. I still wear dramatic looks, but nowadays that is more for evenings out with the hubby.
I just got the product now and i dont know how i missed your video! Im glad you have it because i need YOUR advise how to use it! I oove how this makeup is making it effortless to have a no makeup makeup day!!!
Thank you for the thorough instructions and sharing your opinions. I've started using the foundation, and I do like it. I have mature skin, and it's much happier these days. 😊
Love how you go through this product. I agree. I have found great ways to incorporate this product with other products and my skin and lips are feeling so much softer and supple. The moisture component can't be beat but use it judiciously and work it in with other products to achieve and look and result you desire.
Thank you for taking the time to research the proper/intended application of these unique products and giving them a fair chance. We can learn from your experimenting with different application techniques and combinations.
This brand is interesting to me and I respect the concept and purpose of the brand. However, it seems like it would be too moisturizing for my skin. It seems like it would be ideal for severe winters though. I'd be interested to see how it wears during the cold season! Thanks for another wonderful start to my Saturday!
Emily, I just love you so much. I know you have never hear of me but I have been watching you since like 2008/9. I have always loved your videos and just feel happy when I see you.
I loved your review! This is how each brand should be explained and used - how it works for you and your individual makeup style!! I’ve had two miracle balms since she launched the brand: bronze and dusty rose. I use them like you do as well for a no makeup makeup look. There isn’t a perfect place for them in my routine either but I like them for what they are since they are unique. I also agree with you on the just a sec eyeshadow- it has no lasting power so it’s a miss for me too. I do want to get the foundation, concealer stick and the blush stick for lighter coverage days. Bobbi is a legend and she has a carefree makeup style that we can incorporate into our makeup loving days. ❤️💗❤️
Thank you for the detailed review ‘Em. Well done. My best friend just told me she was interested in checking out the brand. I’ve sent her the link to your video! It seems like a lot of work for a natural look, but your face does look glowing and gorgeous when all is said and done! I may have to look into the cheek and lip tint in that beautiful color!
Thanks for this tutorial, I’ve been thinking of switching from bare minerals to Jones Road but it wasn’t clear to me how to use which products. I like a little coverage but I’m a younger looking but almost 60 year old and I’d like a product or two that’ll roll with the punches with me! LOL that cream foundation and the stick…I might be able to work with that after watching how it worked for you.
What a beautiful difference it made to add a touch of the Lip and Cheek Balm above the powder eyeshadow. Gorgeous. And thank you for a beautifully thorough and honest review. Like you, I love wearing makeup. I also love using clean beauty brands and have dry skin but definitely need medium coverage, so I'm a little torn about this brand. Though I love the moisturizing intent of this brand, to get the look I want would seem to necessitate taking a lot more steps. But it certainly would be great for those who want a more minimalist look.
Yay! Thank you Emily. I’m so happy to see you use this and show how you make them work. Sending prayers and love to you and your family. Love you Emily 😘😘
I appreciate your honesty take on the Jones Road products. I have the mascara which I have difficulty using. It gets all over the place. I need to practice with it.
Thank you for a wonderful video on this product. I’ve really been wanting to try Jones Road miracle balm for days of fast makeup and also my skin is really dry. I also wanted to try the makeup to just curious about and like how you can multitask with products. I truly love your videos and recommendations are for me on point so I know before I run out and buy something I trust your honest reviews and opinions. I enjoy your videos and makeup times and enjoy hearing about your family and the girls cheer and your kitties 😻Keep up the great work and I hope you have a wonderful summer 🏖️🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
I have really dry mature skin . I really want to try this. I don't like a heavy look because of wrinkles lol. You are going to make me buy it. Lol please review Wayne Goss new foundation
Thanks so much for your take on Jones Road! I bought quite a few of the products and have been experimenting with them to work for me. I especially love the mascara and the face oil but am getting all products to work in some manner for me. Super high quality product, and probably best for dry skin, but I was able to use with my oily skin. I love your approach to using these products!💗
Great review, thanks Em! I have the miracle balm in tawny and I agree, it’s too tacky to wear as part of a makeup look. I tend to use it if I’m running out the door and don’t want to be completely bare-faced: I apply like a bronzer with a dense brush around the edge of the face & tops of the cheek and a slick of mascara and go! ps the shade tawny is lovely - think it would work for you
I use the Miracle Balm all over my face and skip the moisturizer which allows me to use a little more so the color/shimmer is seen. I love the Just a Sec products and The Best Pencil because you don’t have to prep the eye. I guess I am attracted to Jones Road because it allows you to skip “prepping” the face except for SPF. I have all the color options included in the Miracle Balm line and I have light skin. I have been blessed with clear skin although it is a little oily and have seen a huge difference in my overall skin. I wake everyday with brighter clearer skin.
So interesting that she adds essential oils to things when they can be very aggravating for the skin! Mint and anything citrus makes my skin tingles and swell for days. 🤨
If you put any citrus essential oil on your skin, yes, it will hurt. If you apply lime juice to your skin out in the sun it will literally burn you. If you put lemon juice on your hair, it damages your hair (lightens it) because that's what citrus does. But I've put straight up frankincense essential oil on my face for decades and my skin loves it. Essential oils are not all the same.
After you did "old and questionable products" video I've been thinking that What the Foundation reminds me of Maybelline Dream mousse format, though it's more focused on texture than on pigmentation. Thank you for you consistency and approach ❤️
The amount of work u are putting in these videos is sooo appreciated . Love you and thanks a lot You are the favorite person always and forever and dearest to heart🍡🍓🍧🎉🥰🥰💖♥️❤️❤️🌙🫂🍓🥰
Em got me laughing in the first 2 minutes of the video.. she dead on described me and my makeup. I love the idea of all the new minimal look cream products but I'm like wait, all my stuff though. Lol I like to play with all my stuff. 😄
Finally someone who took the time to use the products as intended. Thank you.

So nice to see someone who took the time to really use these products instead of one time and done hated it. I am 53 and have been looking at getting Jones Road for a while now. After watching your video I am going to put in my first order.
Your skin is naturally beautiful! Love your HONEST review!
Good morning! Thanks for all your videos! 💕 Love your channel! You’re one of my faves. Thanks for being a bright spot!
Yes! I was thinking the same thing!
you seem so down to earth i love your vibe so much lol
Looking forward to hearing your opinion! I am turning 55 soon and have noticed that certain makeup products do not work the same on me that they once did just a year or 2 ago!
I completely understand! Between aging and menopause my skin is constantly changing. Even mascara is different now that I have less lashes. I also never use to do my brows but I have to now.
Check out RUclipsr Laura Rae. She does great videos for the over 50 girls & has some great ideas!
Thank you thank you for making this video!!!! I bought Jones road not to long ago and was having trouble knowing how to use it. I just did my makeup while watching this and it helped so so much!
Such a good video! Informative thoughtful and beautiful! Thank you for sharing this with us! ❤️🙏
Cheers!
Thank you Emily! Bringing sanity every Saturday morning to my ❤️ 🤗
So.... just a sec stays on the eyes for just a sec? I could not resist! Beautiful look that you pulled together... I too use cream products over powder... and as long as you do not misuse the powder amount.. it works!
Have a greasy rest of the weekend!
I love how well you explain what and why you're doing with your application. Thanks for all the great information.
Great review! Was on the fence about the products and you made me know which way to go!!
Essential oils are still fragrance and can be damaging to the skin barrier. I hate the way "clean" beauty brands act like it's better because it's natural. Natural doesn't equal better.
Extracts too. I fell in love with the Rare Beauty products - first liquid foundation I’d worn in decades. The Gardenia Extract did not love me. 😭
@@glamazon2016 yeah I mean my skin isnt sensitive to fragrance but it's so unnecessary and possibly bad for some people so why keep not only adding it but over fragrancing (not a word lol) products.
👆 Many citrus oils are phototoxic. Natural doesn't equal safe. (I mean, Mother Nature gave us arsenic 🙃)
PREACH!!! ❤️
Damaging to the skin barrier? Hmmmm
You are so eloquent! Your voice is pleasing and I enjoyed watching you put on your make up. Very beautiful 💗
Thank you for reviewing this foundation! I've been thinking about trying it! 🙏💙
Such an informative, lovely and relaxing start to the weekend.Thank you dear Emily and blessings to you and yours.🌹
You look so beautiful. I just bought the foundation so we’ll see when it arrives. Thanks for the tutorial!
I’ve heard so many good things about this brand. I’m going to have to check some of this out in person soon!
Thank you for the try-on and review! I do like the blush color.
So genuinely wanted to say thx, i really appreciate you!🌼🌸🌷😊🌸😊🌷🌸🌼
I was thinking I wanted to try this line and appreciate your honest review. The cover stick on your eyes, made your eyes look beautiful!
Love that you speak about the mascara sweet spot… it’s truly a thing.💜
Your honest take was the best one I’ve heard so far. You always give a fair assessment of the product but I really respect your honesty and the integrity you used with your approach to how you would Make This Makeup Work For You. Great job as always and I liked the little pop of color on the outside of the dark shadow too 😉
Great review Emily! I'm not even slightly interested in this brand but I love your perspective
Oh my goodness. That rosy brown lip and cheek looks gorgeous on you!!
Always a great way to kick off the weekend, hope you and your family are having a wonderful summer!
Your skin looks soooo pretty!
Happy Weekend Emily! Thank you for all you do! You’re absolutely amazing! Love & prayers for you & your whole family from CT! 💖
Emily, I just love you so much. I know you have never hear of me but I have been watching you since like 2008/9. I have always loved your videos and just feel happy when I see you.
This is beautiful! I love it! A dewy look!
I haven't checked in on your channel in a few years and I'm really happy I came back over ❤.
This was such a helpful review of this, I have been wondering!!
Yay! Thank you Emily. I’m so happy to see you use this and show how you make them work.
Sending prayers and love to you and your family. Love you Emily 😘😘
love you too, Luanne!! thanks for watching!
I appreciate your honesty take on the Jones Road products.
I have the mascara which I have difficulty using. It gets all over the place. I need to practice with it.
So pretty… the makeup, the look, you. Thank you for this in-depth review. ❤
Thanks, Emily! This is the most helpful and informed review I have come across. 🌷
I've become fascinated with this line. I'm really wanting a coverage similar to this.
Please try the loreal age perfect tinted balm. I’ve never tried anything like it. It’s so good! Light coverage and looks like skin. Might be a dupe?
I was wondering the same thing!
this is the first video I found that use the products as intended. thanks you!
I tend to use it if I’m running out the door and don’t want to be completely bare-faced: I apply like a bronzer with a dense brush around the edge of the face & tops of the cheek and a slick of mascara and go!
ps the shade tawny is lovely - think it would work for you
are you planning on getting the new abh palette? what do you think about it?
Exactly what I was thinking. Every skincare expert I’ve seen says essential oils are NOT good for the skin!
I agree essential oils are a no for me. I would have an allergic reaction to these products.
Seems like she should know this. Duh.
Love you and thanks a lot
You are the favorite person always and forever and dearest to heart🍡🍓🍧🎉🥰🥰💖♥️❤️❤️🌙🫂🍓🥰
thank you so much!!
Such a great video idea as always.
Em got me laughing in the first 2 minutes of the video.. she dead on described me and my makeup. I love the idea of all the new minimal look cream products but I'm like wait, all my stuff though. Lol I like to play with all my stuff. 😄
Lol, I felt her with that one😊
