I was also a long term volunteer on Kibbutz Yotvata many years ago, 1984-85. I have the best memories of staying on this amazing Kibbutz. I would love to visit and be a volunteer again, but I guess I'm too old now! 🤗
I must have driven past Yotvata more than 30 times on the way to , or from Eilat , and never once did I think that the kibbutz was so expansive !!. Happy Independence Day from a former Negev kibbutznik !!
I was a long term volunteer on this amazing Kibbutz 1984-85, I had the time of my life. 40 years ago!!! So good to see it after all these years, thank you! When I was there the volunteer leader was Abadi, I wonder if he is there still. I worked in economia, the food store below the kitchen. I volunteered on several other Kibbutzim, but non better than Yotvata. The volunteers were very well treated, we went on an amazing trip for 5-6 days, we went everywhere you can think of in the north of Israel. I will never forget that experience. I would love to visit Yotvata, even to volunteer there again, though at nearly 60yo I guess I'm too old! Thank you Yotvata and all who live there for the lifelong memories. Long may you prosper!
Abadi is sadly no longer with us, he passed away a while a go... At the moment there are no volunteers here, all gone shortly after the war started. It is very sad 😢 I hope people return after the war is over and get to experience this amazing place.
@@JHookCrochet I'm so sorry to hear about Abadi. He did a lot for the volunteers. Christmas day 1984, the volunteers were prepared a wonderful Christmas meal in the bomb shelter below the dining room, followed by a party. Unforgettable! Can you please remind me the name of his wife? She ran economia when I was there. How is she? All my love goes to the amazing country and people of Israel. Especially at this time.
I was leaving there, in Yotvata, 10 years ago...Today I am so sad for what happened in hareetz Israel. Thank you for this beautiful video. I remember everything there...
So beautiful I was blessed to spend almost a year as a volunteer on your Kibbutz many years ago. It was life changing for me. So thankful.
I'm happy you enjoyed your time here!

I think you see very little of it from the outside and you can't imagine how awesome it is on the inside 😉 Happy Independence day!
I’m not sure what I really expected to see, but I didn’t expect to see such beauty!
Happy 75th!

Happy Independence Day!
Volunteered for 3 mth's back in 1990. Looks like a few thing have changed since then (and some have stayed the same). Fond (hard working) memory's.
