I remember when I was first being taught by the sister missionaries as a convert. They would visit me twice a week and they would teach their lessons and would sometimes ask me if I had come across any scriptures in the Book of Mormon (which they gifted to me) that I liked. I brought up a small passage in the Book of Jacob about the Olive tree, which I've just realized watching this video for the first that that is what it's talking about. They weren't very familiar with it, so they asked me what I took from it. They were quite amazed and proud of me for pointing it out to them! I became a member and was baptized a month later. Now I am 6 years a member of the Church and proud! HOSANNA.

The reason that the Mormons (LDS) have that much better, broader understanding of the bible than the people in the other churches would have to be Jesus. Jesus is behind the Mormons (LDS) having that noticeably much better, broader understanding of the bible than the people in the other churches. It couldn't be Joseph Smith, Joseph Smith was prophet, seer, revelator. Joseph Smith brought the church forth, nonetheless Jesus is, would have to be, behind the Mormons (LDS) having that noticeably much better, broader understanding of the bible than the people in the other churches. One, if desired, can Google ''Debate: Richard Hopkins (Mormon) vs Robert Morey (Christian) youtube''. It's quite clear Richard Hopkins has a much better understanding of the bible and everything.

    Thanks for sharing this video.
Although the fashions and some of the initial dialogue was a bit cheesey, I enjoyed the overall presentation. I loved how the Gardner not only helped teach how to work the vineyard, but he also asked them questions to ponder on while they helped work.
I also loved how their period of clothing changed as they progressed through the story.
One thing I almost wanted to have them change was to have them return back into their own modern day clothes and head to class, more enlighten and then willing to share this experience with their classmates and others.
However, ending it with showing them harvest the fruit makes sense, since living the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the whole reason why we're here on Earth. I thought that perhaps it's like transitioning to the Missionary Field.
This ending shows that even when people graduate from school or have to work in the world, their main job will be to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And we can do the same! 😊💒🕊️❤️

Food historians agree that pizza-like dishes, including flatbreads topped with oils, spices, and other toppings, were eaten by many peoples in the Mediterranean, including the ancient Greeks and Egyptians. Cato the Elder, writing a history of Rome in the third century B.C., described pizza-like rounds of bread topped with olives and herbs. Virgil, writing 200 years later, described similar food in "The Aeneid," and archaeologists excavating the ruins of Pompeii have found kitchens and cooking tools where these foods were produced before the city was buried in 72 A.D. when Mt. Vesuvius erupted. www.thoughtco.com/history-of-pizza-pie-1991776#targetText=History%20%26%20Culture&targetText=Although%20people%20have%20been%20eating,prepared%20dozens%20of%20different%20ways.

@@davidhogg8721 you are correct that we believe in one God, but you are also correct that members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints do not believe in the Trinity as many others do. One of the scriptures that I believe best clarifies what we believe about God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost is Doctrine and Covenants 130:22 which says: "The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us." When Joseph Smith had his first vision, he saw two personages, God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. For us, the three are"one" in purpose, but each is distinct. I realize this may not be what you believe, and I can respect that, but wanted to share some clarifications if it helps us understand one another. God Bless! :)

Thank you for this reply. Before we get distracted; are the quotations from 2 Nephi 31:21 and D&C 20:28 perfect definitions of the Trinity? There are plenty of supplemental quotations in the BoM pointing to the Trinity, so why do Mormons not believe in the Trinity: " but you are also correct that members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints do not believe in the Trinity as many others do."?
Rejecting the Trinity rejects the concept of one God. The concept of one almighty God is rational … there simply cannot be three all-mighty gods because that makes no sense.
"you are correct that we believe in one God" … but Mormons do not. They believe in three distinct persons.
May I wonder why you take us to this D&C 130:22 without addressing D&C 20:28: "One of the scriptures that I believe best clarifies what we believe about God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost is Doctrine and Covenants 130:22 which says: "The Father has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; the Son also; but the Holy Ghost has not a body of flesh and bones, but is a personage of Spirit. Were it not so, the Holy Ghost could not dwell in us."?
JS, of curse, claimed he had a vision in 1815 (?). Typically, when there are genuine visions, those visions are accompanied by miracles confirming their veracity: please browse for example Fatima, Lourdes and Tepeyac for instance. With JS not only no miracles but, after this vision with claimed earth shattering details, he waited until 1832 before revealing his first version. Eventually there were 9 (nine) versions … really? And you believe JS claim as to the genuineness of the vision? Sorry, but we require much more confirmation and evidence than that for JS claim.
And this claim of JS directly contradicts St. Paul in Colossians 1:15 et seq.!
2 Nephi 5:15 claims there was steel "in great abundance" circa 580 BC more that 20 centuries before steel actually became available in quantity after the invention of the Bessemer furnace around 1850!!!!
And look what Fairmormon does with this … deliberately omits the ending of the quotation to 2 Nephi 5:15 … here it is exactly copied from the Fairmormon site:
      "Steel in the Text
Steel is mentioned only five times in the Book of Mormon, once in the Book of Ether (7.9), and four times in the Nephite records (1 Ne 4.9, 1 Ne 16.18, 2 Ne 5.15 and Jar 1.8). Of these, two refer to Near Eastern weapons of the early sixth century B.C. 1 Ne 4.9 states that the blade of Laban’s sword was “of most precious steel.” Nephi’s Near Eastern bow was “made of fine steel” (1 Ne 16.18). The next two references are to steel among generic metal lists. The first is to the time of Nephi, around 580 B.C.:
“work in all manner of wood, and of iron, and of copper, and of brass, and of steel, and of gold, and of silver, and of precious ores” (2 Ne 5.15)"
Can't you see this is pure deceit? Go to your BoM and verify what is actually the verse!!!! This is disgusting. Maybe Fairmormon can deceive simple and trusting Mormons in this way … but not critical thinkers. Aren't you ashamed by this deceit? I would be.
In contrast, may I direct you to the beauty of the deep prayer life establishing a personal relationship with Jesus, the rich rational theology and the exquisite liturgy of the Mass that is the RCC with its unbroken Apostolic Succession?
You look to be very sincere … but don't be too trusting as a Mormon!!!! Look forward to hearing from you.
      Blessings

@@davidhogg8721 thanks for the additional information. You too also seem to be sincere and man full of faith in God. We all need more of that in these difficult times. I'm not really looking to get into a lengthy debate. I was simply trying to clarify, if your purpose was simply confusion about what members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints believe about the Godhead. If you are happy in your faith, as am I, I wish you well. One of our articles of faith says: "We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may."
For me there is One God, who is God the Father. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be our (my) personal Savior and it is only through His name, that we (I) can be saved. It is through the Holy Ghost that I (we) learn and feel truth as I (we) sincerely pray to know God's will for me (us). For me, they are unified (in one purpose, vision, mission) to help us find our way back to their presence, but distinct personnages in my beliefs.
As for fairmormon.org, to be clear, that is a 501(c)(3) with no official connection to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. While I have read some of their materials, I prefer to stay with more direct sources from ChurchofJesusChrist.org (the Church's official site) and, of course, the scriptures.
I appreciate your concern, but I have lived both in and outside of my faith at times and have found that I am stronger and a better man when I have adhered to the principles taught. I am far from perfect, but believe I can be made so as I turn to Christ striving to be a bit better each day. I prefer to think of myself, not as a trusting Mormon (a nickname we actually discourage), but as someone who trusts in God to direct my life as you obviously do as well. I believe he will help all His children as we prayerfully seek Him and His guidance for our lives.
I hope I can continue to trust in God and not lean to my own (or others') understanding and that I can strive to produce fruits that honor Him and help others. God Bless you my friend. I seek no offense nor take any, but ask that we focus on what is similar so as to strengthen one another rather than strive with any spirit of contention around differences. Take care.

""We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may." Yes, Doug, we need to have the utmost respect … and love … for others, no matter where they are at … even militant atheists. But it is not charitable to leave them in their false thoughts is it?
If we truly wish to be Jesus' disciples we need to follow His instructions, no?
      St. Matthew 28:
17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 ***Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you***: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
"For me there is One God, who is God the Father." … but this is not what 2 Nephi 31:21 and Doctrine and Covenants 20:28 tells you, is it? Why the contradiction between what your sacred scripture tells you and what you are required to believe? … this inconsistency makes no sense to those outside of Mormonism. Can you make sense of it?
That Fairmormon is not an official agency of the Mormon church is the usual way of deflecting away from the errors in their explanations. If it is not an official agency it has some recognition … otherwise it would have been shut down, no? This would have been an important thing to do in this case of deliberate disgraceful deceit. For those informed, the Fairmoromon explanations are unconvincing.
"I appreciate your concern, but I have lived both in and outside of my faith at times and have found that I am stronger and a better man when I have adhered to the principles taught." But the principles taught should be the truth, shouldn't they?
I very much respect your sincerity but since the truth will make you free, I am obliged to put it before you, with prayers, in the hope that there will be the grace to see truth and benefit from it.

I just want to point out that I accept the King James Version of the Bible as the absolute truth and inspired Word of God, and I understand the Mormon Church uses this version of the bible as well.
Where things go astray however, is while the bible was written before and shortly after the death of Christ, and again was accepted by the Church as the true and inspired Word of God, the subsequent book of Mormon wasn’t written until the 1800’s, after Joseph Smith allegedly received some golden tablets from an angel named Moroni.
Here’s the question I have that I haven’t seen brought up by others though. If you can accept that God is perfect and all knowing and that the King James Version of the bible is the true inspired Word of God, then why would God need to send an angel, whose name is not mentioned in the bible by the way, in order to change His Word and start a whole new religion through having Joseph Smith proclaim himself as a modern day profit, followed by his writing of the Book of Mormon. The answer is that God wouldn’t do this, because He got it right the first time.
Furthermore, it is well documented that Joseph Smith was a convicted felon of multiple offenses, including theft and attempted murder, who was practicing divination or the summoning of spirits using a spirit stone, when he received a visit from an "angel". And I would just note here too that such practices are condemned and forbidden by God in the bible. Furthermore, he was searching for gold when he was summoning a spirit when he received his visitation and was given the "golden tablets". My point here is that Joseph Smith was not visited by an angel of God, but most likely by the very devil himself who gave Smith his "revelation", and that Smith is a false profit who started a false religion that is leading millions of people away from God if they don't realize the truth and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Furthermore, Mormons believe that God had a mother, that God has a wife on another planet who he has spirit babies with, that they (Mormons) themselves will become gods and be able to make spirit babies of their own for their own special planets if they live perfect lives, that Jesus and the devil were brothers, that Jesus was really the archangel Michael but became Jesus when he was here on earth but returned to being Michael when he returned to heaven, that special magical underwear is required to ward off evil doing, and that black people were originally white people who became cursed for siding with the devil and became black folks who were unworthy of temple worship or associating with. This of course is all blasphemous, heretical and absolutely unbiblical nonsense, none of which of course is volunteered by the Mormon missionaries when they're going around knocking on people's doors trying to gain new converts for the devil.
All I can ultimately do however is lean on the true Word of God, and in the end if someone cannot except that as true then there’s nothing more I can do but to pray for them. I feel that it’s my responsibility as a Christian to do what I can to witness to others though, so at least they will have heard the truth whether they choose to accept it or not.
I will tell you too that the true Gospel of Christ is explained in 1 Corinthians 15, which tells you that you will be saved if you believe that Christ died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and that he rose again on the third day and ascended into heaven where He sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty. A sinner’s prayer would include a believer professing all of this, but also should include repentance and the asking of forgiveness for all of your sins.
Once you’ve done this, by professing your faith, believing in the gospel and repenting of your sins, then the bible says that you will be saved. Sadly though, for those who refuse to accept this free gift offered through accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, they face eternity in outer darkness, separated from the true Love of God forever. Hopefully, you will see the truth and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and turn away from the false teachings of the Mormon Church which is doing nothing but leading its followers into eternal damnation.
Lastly, at the very least I would ask that you please just pray about all of this if you want to know the truth, and I have no doubt that the Holy Spirit will show you the truth and leave you with no doubt about everything I’ve said here.
May the peace of Christ be with you!
Matthew 7:15 - Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
1 John 4:1 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 - 13 For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.15 Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
    Salvation Verses:
Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:36 - He who believes in the Son has eternal life, but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

      Hello SteveMac88,
The short answer to your questions: "If you can accept that God is perfect and all knowing and that the King James Version of the bible is the true inspired Word of God, then why would God need to send an angel, whose name is not mentioned in the bible by the way, in order to change His Word and start a whole new religion through having Joseph Smith proclaim himself as a modern day prophet, followed by his (translating) of the Book of Mormon?" is this:
God is God. He had a wise purpose, which purpose is known unto Him. He is an Almighty God, and all knowing, all powerful God.Consider all the things He did in the Bible that seem too incredible to be true. Doubt not what God can do "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord." : www.lds.org/scriptures/tg/god-power-of?lang=eng
Many plain and precious truths were taken from the Holy Bible. www.lds.org/general-conference/2009/10/joseph-smith-prophet-of-the-restoration?lang=eng
"Were there not angels and visions in Christ’s Church in New Testament times? Did not an angel appear to Mary and to Joseph? Did not angels appear to Peter, James, and John on the Mount of Transfiguration? Did not an angel rescue Peter and John from prison? Did not an angel appear to Cornelius, then to Paul before he was shipwrecked and to John on the Isle of Patmos? Did not Peter have a vision of the gospel going to the Gentiles, Paul a vision of the third heaven, John a vision of the latter days, and Stephen a vision of the Father and Son?”
God is the same yesterday, today and forever and has ALWAYS spoken His word and commanded His prophets to write them for us: "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." Amos 3:7
But never take anyone's word for truth. Please pray to know for yourself if this is true: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.": James 1:5-6 I have prayed to know and I KNOW that what I say is true.
The greatest tool we have to know what is true is the Holy Ghost.I promise you that If you sincerely pray and ask to know if these things are true the Holy Ghost will witness to you and "by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.".
And then lastly, just look at the wonder that is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! "Ye shall know them by their fruits." Matthew 7:16
In the sacred name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. AMEN

I testify that The Book of Mormon was not written by Joseph Smith. He had no formal education, and there's no way it could have come from his imagination. It was translated by him through the power of God from the Gold Plates.
As a professor at BYU told his students, "Since Joseph Smith was younger than most of you and not nearly so experienced or well-educated as any of you at the time he copyrighted the Book of Mormon, it should not be too much to ask you to hand in by the end of the semester (which will give you more time than he had) a paper of, say, five to six hundred pages in length. Call it a sacred book if you will, and give it the form of a history. Tell of a community of wandering Jews in ancient times; have all sorts of characters in your story, and involve them in all sorts of public and private vicissitudes; give them names--hundreds of them--pretending that they are real Hebrew and Egyptian names of circa 600 b.c.; be lavish with cultural and technical details--manners and customs, arts and industries, political and religious institutions, rites, and traditions, include long and complicated military and economic histories; have your narrative cover a thousand years without any large gaps; keep a number of interrelated local histories going at once; feel free to introduce religious controversy and philosophical discussion, but always in a plausible setting; observe the appropriate literary conventions and explain the derivation and transmission of your varied historical materials.
"Above all, do not ever contradict yourself! For now we come to the really hard part of this little assignment. You and I know that you are making this all up--we have our little joke--but just the same you are going to be required to have your paper published when you finish it, not as fiction or romance, but as a true history! After you have handed it in you may make no changes in it (in this class we always use the first edition of the Book of Mormon); what is more, you are to invite any and all scholars to read and criticize your work freely, explaining to them that it is a sacred book on a par with the Bible. If they seem over-skeptical, you might tell them that you translated the book from original records by the aid of the Urim and Thummim--they will love that! Further to allay their misgivings, you might tell them that the original manuscript was on golden plates, and that you got the plates from an angel. Now go to work and good luck!
"To date no student has carried out this assignment, which, of course, was not meant seriously. But why not? If anybody could write the Book of Mormon, as we have been so often assured, it is high time that somebody, some devoted and learned minister of the gospel, let us say, performed the invaluable public service of showing the world that it can be done."
If you will sincerely study the Book of Mormon, you will come to learn that it is the word of God, and that the Bible and the Book of Mormon work together to testify of Christ.

Back in Old Testament times, when Moses was leading the children of Israel in the wilderness, the land became infested with flying fiery serpents. Many people were dying and the people turned to Moses to save them. The Lord instructed Moses to make a brass serpent and told him to raise it up. If the people looked at the brass serpent, they were saved; if they didn't look, they perished. Although it would seem a simple solution to look and live, many did not and died; perhaps thinking that it was just too simple of a solution to fix such a very dire situation. I love your thoughtful research and respect it VERY much; you have spent a lot of time in the Bible and are well learned in the scriptures and are rightly concerned about your eternal soul. If one took a serious approach, I suppose the Book of Mormon could be read in a few days......to be realistic, a week would be more like it. Many people hear of the Book Of Mormon and make judgements about it (mostly from other people) and don't take the time out of their lives to read it. What is a week out of a lifetime to see if something is really true or not? Many people decide not to read it, and I suspect that they are thinking that just reading a book is too easy of a solution (or it can't possible have anything for me, so I won't take the time). Why not sincerely find out once and for all? All the respect in the world........

@@jacksontaylor290 ''and there's no way it could have come from his imagination.'' The anti-Mormons state that Joseph Smith made up the Book of Mormon by borrowing (plagiarized) from various books. I ask, how could just Joseph Smith have decided to go out and plagiarize? They can never respond with anything. The anti-Mormons have never really been able to demonstrate that the Book of Mormon is a fraud. Therefore they turned their attention towards the Book of Abraham translation. The anti-Book of Abraham books, websites, youtube videos from the Egyptological field does appear to be convincing at first. Though it does not stand up to scrutiny upon closer examination. As ALL anti-Book of Abraham assessments from the Egyptological field are based on false assumptions on the translation process of the true, sacred, divine assisted Book of Abraham. All Egyptological assessments state that Joseph Smith mistranslated the papyri. Though the FACT is that Joseph Smith didn't either mistranslate the papyri, the papyri was never even translated in the first place, the papyri were merely added to the commencement of the text in order to explain the text, Abraham 1:14 proves this point. The Egyptologists were proven wrong in the year 2014 by the homemade, low budget youtube video ruclips.net/video/3bm6Npd1Hjw/видео.html (Book of Abraham debunks anti-LDS lies). That video that proved the Egyptologists wrong is the first video of 15 from one by the name of Paul Gregersen. I have followed a lot of debates between Paul Gregersen and the anti-Mormons in the comment section of youtube videos since 2014, the anti-Mormons lose the debate everytime. The Book of Abraham has been proven true by Paul Gregersen. None of the true, sacred LDS scripture has ever been proven to be fraudulent, in other words.

I hope you take the time to read from and pray about the Book of Mormon friend.
      Proverbs 3: 5-6
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
