- In this CES film for Seminary students, a Seminary teacher takes students on a trip to see how the gold plates ended up in the English Book of Mormon.
This is the first widescreen production for CES.
As cheesy as it seems today, I really miss these kinds of videos - laying out the content and context in a fun and imaginative way. I would LOVE to get my hands on a gigantic Book of Mormon and oversized set of plates. I'm not sure where I'd store them... Thanks so much for posting this old gem.
I've been to shops in Utah that sell reproductions for a hearty sum. It's out there.
It was all about fun back then.😊🤔
I did Seminary, and l loved it!
Ive also, been a Seminary teacher myself and loved every minute of it!
What a privilege it was, to teach people the gospel of Jesus Christ! And share the excitement l feel about the love of my Savior with others.🙌♥
Thank you for the funny memories! 😀
Stay strong, stay home, stay healthy! 💪🏘😷

Hello, Scott from the Buttercream Gang. 😁
8:20 To clarify, Mormon actually abridged his own record, in addition to the books of Lehi, and Mosiah through 4 Nephi, just before his death at the hands of the Lamanites. After that, Moroni added the last two chapters to his father's book.
Ford Aerostar, we rented one when we visited Florida and Hawaii.
This film explains sooooo very much. Man y don't understand this. 7:59
Most of these videos were done in 1993, so was that a good year for Mormons?
These were made as a teaching tool for seminaries, which is place where the young men and women who belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and anyone else who is interested, go to learn more about the scriptures, Christ and His gospel. As far as I know, there wasn't such a thing done before. At least my parents don't have any memories of movies in seminary when they were teenagers :)
I can only speak for myself, but... Yeah, it was a great year!
I went to seminary in the late 80s and saw various videos. The Hold to the Rod Series and a Lamp Unto My Feet
Does anybody else realize how ridiculous this narrative is?
Yes....I do. Don’t panic, you’re not alone.
What makes you think it’s ridiculous?

I think I probably regret saying what I said there. It sounds patronising and arrogant and for that I apologise.
I am a practicing Buddhist and have been for 10 years so really I should know better.
I did encounter the "Mormon" religion when I was younger but just couldn't believe it.
So that's my journey. If your journey is within this church and you are happy and fulfilled there then I wish you well. 🙏
@@seanmacleod1724 it’s ok I take no offense from your comment. I respect what you believe.
