I did the same exact thing - dropped a microfiber rag on my hot exhaust! I used a 1982 (or older penny) and it scraped right off and did not damage the chrome. They say that after 1982 zinc was added to pennies (making them harder) than the 1982 and older copper ones.
What about mothers mag and aluminum polish? Same idea, micro abrasives to not leave scratches. #0000 steel wool can clean glass without scratches so may try that too
I use a paste called Autosol chrome over here in the U.K which gives my chrome a good shine also found it works good as a toothpaste gives me that nice sparkle when I smile, and watching your video reminded me of a time in the mid 90s when a guy pulled up to the bar on his bike and went into the bar. withing 3 minutes some intoxicated dude claimed his unwavering love for the bike and decided to give those nice shiny pipes a kiss to many peoples amusement, would this method work on removing burnt flesh?
Hey TJ! Great vid, curious if you had any insight on what my issue might be on my 03' 750 ace. Randomly one day riding the power would cut out while on the gas and just started popping and banging really loud, and it does the same afterward. It idles perfect, but once I get on the gas, about halfway on it, it sounds like it hit a redline. Carb was rebuilt, fuel pump is working and spark on both cylinders. Maybe the ECU? I appreciate any insight!
I was an IDIOT and bc the real feel here in SW FL was 112⁰ I rode in shorts. Stopped for gas and got cut off. My mistake for grabbing a fistful of front break but in order to not drop my 96 ace vt1100c2, I took a 6in 3rd degree burn to the bottom of my calf. No flesh on the pipes but looks like someone melted some boot sole to the exhaust instead of using the passenger pegs
Chrome? On a bike here will not last its the sea air. Rust and dust. Grease and oil just leave it it protects the metalwork. For everything else its rattle cans on the go. The bikes look charming from a distance🎉
Bon Ami is what Mario's drunk sister says when she's feelin' frisky

First time I put my rain cover on my bike it was still hot after a 40-minute ride... when I checked it later, it identified as a vinyl wrap
