I'm taking mine to the range and using 50 caliber rounds on it. I'm buying an older used machine with an actual actuator. These machines today are junk.
Yes these new washers are junk. Mine has a agitator that don't do anything its just for looks. On quick wash it does good but that's about it. The agitators never touch the clothes and even on deep water wash with bulk items and on bulk setting water doesn't get high enough for the agitator to be effective. I spent $500 on mine and it sucks.
@@josephmontoya104 You should buy the new Speed Queen TC5 Classic Series Washing Machine. It has the transmission driven old school wash action with a real agitator. Otherwise just buy a used Whirlpool Direct Drive Washer made until 2010.
Got a great deal on this same washer at lezy Lowes, $386 but with all the bells and whistles (new hoses, delivery, take away old one and tax) climbed to $460. I waited all day for them to deliver my Whirlpool washer. They finally came at 10pm. Was so happy! They said they had 21 deliveries, all over the desert. Works great!
I bought this thing a little over two years ago and it already is broke. Thank god the salesman at Lowes talked me into getting the extended warranty so I got my money back. The machine actually washed my clothes well, including my queen sized heavy quilts but the darn thing vibrates like CRAZY dusking the spin cycle. I ensured mine was leveled but to no avail. I am sure the heavy vibrations contributed to the wear and tear. I have a fully automatic RV washing machine (RCA .9 cubic foot washer) which is 5 years old now and is still washing well. I used it when my whirlpool broke. Now I have a Maytag (its also high efficiency, unfortunately). I told my mom to have her old school washer fixed if it breaks as they don't make the machines like they used to.With the current machines, you'd be lucky to get 5 years out of them.
@@martinbirdwell7986 it doesn't matter how well you balance the load in any of these washers because they will vibrate no matter what. I have one now and 3 previous to this and they ALL vibrate..... They have no transmission in them so they don't have the extra weight.

I just had mine delivered this past month. I have washed maybe 5 loads. I have to walk away after starting it because the sensing drives me nuts... it adds a little water then the sensors have to reevaluate the situation to see if it still needs water, then it adds a little more, sensing again, adds a little, senses again. My .02 it's not as bad as some are making it out to be. I'm doing a cleaning servicing for the first time on mine and I have had it for 5 years so far. I purchased mine used off of either craigslist or facebook mp, I can't remember which. The machine does take getting used to if your used to something else and it seems that's a large part of the problem.
Just got it delivered Friday, washed a few loads of regular clothes, but have to wash sheet sets separately, it cant handle it, won't move passed wash light.....very frustrating. I baby sat a washer for the last 6 years and it finally just gave out and I broke down and got this....very disappointed right now, I could have done your video same same experience!
I was just having a drain problem last night I woke up turned the middle knobbed to normal & held the start/pause button for like 10 seconds and the washer automatically started draining the water out once I got the water on I turned it to the drain & spin cycle and everything was working just fine! Not sure if this will for anyone but it worked for me
I bought a house that came with this washer or very similar. I think the boards are bad on these. Sometimes my on/off button doesnt work and the board needs to be cleared by unplugging and then plugging the washer back in. It then works fine. The locked light should be coming on. The sensing may be because there are no clothes in the washer? Anyway I know this is dated but unplugging and re-plugging in works for our version of this washer.
I just fixed this!!! that humming noise is the drain pump trying to work! Watch a youtube video on whirlpool drain pumps. First take the drain hose off, and all the water will drain out, then tip the washer on its side and take the hose off the drain pump. There will be a little check valve on the drain pump that you need to pull open, and then poke in with your finger or even one of those plastic drain snakes! Then make sure there is nothing jamming that drain pump impeller. In my case it was a little finish nail that was in a pocket of some jeans. Removed the lint and finish nail and presto! BACK IN BUSINESS!
I purchased a whirlpool washer October 10, 2020 (big mistake) and the first time I tried to do a wash it did NOT work. We brought is back to the store. They wouldn't give us a credit, the one option was to buy another one and adjust the price difference. My old Whirlpool washer was over 35 years old when it stopped working so naturally we went and bought a new Whirlpool washer to match our dryer. But I will NEVER purchase a Whirlpool product again! There quality has really changed. If I ever need a washer again it will be a Samsung!
I have this one and I didn’t like it since day one. These new washing machines nowadays are “energy efficient” as what they say but don’t really clean clothes properly. I stood by it during wash to observe how “each” cycle works, from start to end. My solution to it: I asked my husband to install an extra hose so I can just put right amount of water.
Just disassembled the drain pump last night, ohmed the motor out( motor good), found drain pump just alittle seized. soaked the pump with PB Blaster for about 15 mins , reassembled the pump and put back into pump housing( Vaseline on o-ring on top of pump to housing connection). ran thru diagnostic mode and machine works like a charm. Unit back in action now!
Yes I know how old this video is BUT it’s 10-12-24 and I got a Whirlpool washer and dryer a couple days ago and what I noticed was, on the washer in this video is exactly like mine. I mean 100 percent the same. This washer costed me 473.00 from Lowes and on sale. This is washer only price. I’m just shocked that everything on the panel is exactly the same.
Just bought this washer on 4th of July and just finally washed 30 loads so I did my first clean washer cycle and all the lights turned off and the drain pump keeps running with no water. After 20 minutes we unplugged. Have to call for service tomorrow. Very disappointing!
Returned mine, same day I purchased it!!! Brought a General electric one with an agitator. Much better. Still wish they made the old timey ones. Had my old one four 8 yrs..
I just got it today, I’m trying to do my first load and this piece of shit just stay at sensing light and do nothing for 22 minutes. After trying to do a load for the 4th time finally the light switched to wash and started to wash. I hope it finish the load like it Suppose to.
You need to let it do its thing, it is sensing water weight, idk how you had water in there , but once it goes through the cycle it will drain , or maybe there is a problem with drain in your pipes, idk I just got mine and seems working, you scared me with the experience you had , I hope mine doesn't do that otherwise I will return it. But tks for heads up
I have this exact washer and i had to have it repaired four times before it started working properly. Fucking junk. But it was a wedding present so trying to work with what i got and be grateful.
I had this machine delivered 2 weeks ago. The delivery guys didn't leave a book, so we thought we were doing something wrong. For over an hour water loaded, drained, and loaded again. I called and reported the sensors weren't working and received a new unit this morning, courtesy of Whirlpool, of course. SAME PROBLEM. So upset. This video shows exactly what we are experiencing in 2020. Why have they not repaired this equipment? How is Home Dept still selling this washing machine?????
I also have a Whirpool Washer Machine (one year old) and something similar is happening with mine, I do weird things to make it work... the dryer works ok though....
Is this washer suppose to lock when you push the button? The door does not lock close. All my kids have this machine and they say it locks close. So upset. Two machines and this is rediculous.
I had that washing machine . Don't buy . Only 4 years old and they told me it would cost more to fix then buying a new one. Wouldn't spin the clothes out . Whirlpool knows there is a problem with this washing machine and they are doing nothing about it .No more whirlpool appliances for me .Also this washing machine had a problem with the spin cycle when I first bought it should of sent this washing machine right back to Lowe's then instead of letting them fix it when it was brand new. Also Lowe's know this washing machine is a piece of junk as well but they continue to sell it.
Agitator models work best especially in the long run. Our non-agitator twisted the sheets and tossed them to one side of the drum which made the machined lopsided and tumbled it almost 360 turn, which of course ruined the machine.
I just washed sheets in mine and no twisting. And the same for the comforter I just washed the other day. I am new to this machine and hopefully it will continue to work as it is supposed too. If not, I will go back the agitator type.
It is trying to pump down first ! No matter if you unplug it and plug it back in it is going to try and pump down . Just try and let it run without clothes and see what it does . Make sure your drain line is not blocked .
Got mines in Feb of this year working fine ,then all of sudden just started leaking water wouldn't stop filling up either. Whirlpool should be ashamed and give folks they money back. This is horrible...
I had that problem and figured out you have to have your hose higher up lifted towards the ceiling and then an extension toward ground (not to drain down towards ground from washer ) like you would think.
I have the same problem you have with your washer. And I'm sure it is the sensor that needs to be replaced. I brought my top loader brand new and it's a headache.
I have the same washer the control panel is black tho, it’s not spinning,it’s making the electrical buzz sound but the drum is not spinning ! Last night I washed a load and today I checked it again and it’s left chunks of soap on my clothes.
Did you put the clothes in first? I just got mine yesterday and I always let the water fill up first then add my clothes with my old one. I did that with this one and it only put a quarter of the water. So I'm guessing I should put my clothes in first. Idk
Did you show us if there is water coming out of the discharge hose at all ? Did you check for kinks ? Did the installer remove the red rubber cap over the hard plastic discharge outlet located on the lower back of the machine, the one that the black discharge hose gets fastened too, or did he somehow forget & install the hose over the cap ?? Cause it sounds normal to me....the water turning on after a interruption (ie lifting the lid) during a cycle is normal...
The locked light is not lit up which is indicating that the lid is not locking during the cycle you selected. You can check there first to troubleshoot your issues.
hello my washing machine hits a lot when spinning, What should I do, it no longer has a guarantee and I can't buy another one.I have to repair it myself. Thanks a lot
We had the same issue. We had a appliance guy come check it out and he couldn't figure it out either. We ended up throwing the washing machine away the dryer works amazing tho
I'm on my 3rd used whirlpool washer and I will not buy a new one. I've had the same issues with all 3. At first I thought it was because I bought used $100 washers. I've tried all the reset/calibration over and over. It may work for one load perfect next load gets stuck on spin cycle. Next load washes fine gets stuck on drain cycle. Always, always is full of water. Takes forever going through all the resets/calibration may spin and drain within a few minutes or may take repeating 10 times before it will spin and drain. Then sometimes the clothes are so wet I have to go through all the same procedures to get washer to spin all the water out! So frustrating!!! 😫
This machine is a piece of junk. You can only wash maybe 3 to 4 towels at a time. I have the same exact issues as everyone else. All these new washers machines work the same way. The old machines were better
Work jeans don’t get clean. Areas of sheets don’t even get wet. A load of wash seems to take HOURS! It doesn’t soak the clothes ... it ‘spritzers’ them! I swear it ties my sheets into knots. It’s a $400 piece of crap that I gave away after 9 months.

Feel your frustration, have the same pile of cramps.
I was just having a drain problem last night I woke up turned the middle knobbed to normal & held the start/pause button for like 10 seconds and the washer automatically started draining the water out once I got the water on I turned it to the drain & spin cycle and everything was working just fine! Not sure if this will for anyone but it worked for me
Thanks, it worked for me.
Does this washer have a filter that needs to be cleaned?
Just bought one for 100 , seening alot of people hate on it, I'll be back in a week or before to let you know what's really up.
yea ive seen more complaints than expected.
I have some few years now ... no problem that sux you are having that problem I hope you get that works like mine you would be much happier man
My brother installed and programmed mines. I bought at the end of 2019. Been like a year and a half. Never had a problem with mines.
Never buy this junk
We have no choice anymore.. most if not all washers are built this way now..
I'm having the same issues since day 1
I bought a house that came with this washer or very similar.
I have the same problem right now and I totally understand!! I’m more than pissed
Same situation first day going to exchange it as well.
This is the Washer from Hell! Rather than cleaning my clothes it's staining them!..
Does yours Shake alot during final rinse cycle?
I purchased a whirlpool washer October 10, 2020 (big mistake) and the first time I tried to do a wash it did NOT work. We brought is back to the store. They wouldn't give us a credit, the one option was to buy another one and adjust the price difference. My old Whirlpool washer was over 35 years old when it stopped working so naturally we went and bought a new Whirlpool washer to match our dryer. But I will NEVER purchase a Whirlpool product again! There quality has really changed. If I ever need a washer again it will be a Samsung!
Did you remember to take the plug out of the drain pipe before attaching the drain hose 🤷 just wondering
We almost missed taking ours out
I have this one and I didn’t like it since day one. These new washing machines nowadays are “energy efficient” as what they say but don’t really clean clothes properly. I stood by it during wash to observe how “each” cycle works, from start to end. My solution to it: I asked my husband to install an extra hose so I can just put right amount of water.
I have the same set and I too have disliked the washer from day one. It does not clean clothes well.
I do not like it either.
I only use heavy duty cause it doesn’t wash clothes properly.
I'm having the same problem I just got it today
Don’t let your children use it...!!!💯
Just disassembled the drain pump last night, ohmed the motor out( motor good), found drain pump just alittle seized. soaked the pump with PB Blaster for about 15 mins , reassembled the pump and put back into pump housing( Vaseline on o-ring on top of pump to housing connection). ran thru diagnostic mode and machine works like a charm. Unit back in action now!
I have this washer it works very well my problem is that I dont know when I can apply liquid softner .
That's exactly what mine is doing, draining and no lights. If anyone can help me leave me a message.
Wish I watched videos on this washer before I got it today....I hate it....Returning it within the next 30 mins.
Returned mine, same day I purchased it!!! Brought a General electric one with an agitator. Much better. Still wish they made the old timey ones. Had my old one four 8 yrs..
8 years isn't that old for a washer....
Do you know why the washer doesn't want tp fill up with water?
I have the same problem man just got it yesterday!
I just got it today, I’m trying to do my first load and this piece of shit just stay at sensing light and do nothing for 22 minutes. After trying to do a load for the 4th time finally the light switched to wash and started to wash. I hope it finish the load like it Suppose to.
Just got this washer trying to figure out what's going on washing clothes seems like such a struggle
im been waiting for the longest just for the water to fill up it was like 2 inches 🤦🏻♀️
I'm just trying to figure out how to get it too wash mine Is brand new 🥺 I can figure out how to make it do all cycles
So what was the outcome?
They told us it was a popular item that’s one reason how they still selling 😭😭😭
I also have a Whirpool Washer Machine (one year old) and something similar is happening with mine, I do weird things to make it work... the dryer works ok though....
This video was exactly what I needed! I have a different model, but it worked the exact same way. Thank you!!!
Mind did not work. just purchased another Whirlpool . I don't like it.
@@ABprecious1 Thank you for your reply!😘 Is your whirlpoor dryer still available? I have a brand new heating element and would like to give it to you。
Is this washer suppose to lock when you push the button? The door does not lock close. All my kids have this machine and they say it locks close. So upset. Two machines and this is rediculous.
Have you check if the drain pump is blocked
No Name exactly 🤦🏻♀️
Bad engineering
I just washed sheets in mine and no twisting. And the same for the comforter I just washed the other day. I am new to this machine and hopefully it will continue to work as it is supposed too. If not, I will go back the agitator type.
I have the same washer and no problems at all to now. I hope never get a problem with it. I hope you can fix it.
I have mine 3 years now but it’s making lot of noise now what could be the problem when spinning out it’s making a horrible sound
It is trying to pump down first ! No matter if you unplug it and plug it back in it is going to try and pump down . Just try and let it run without clothes and see what it does . Make sure your drain line is not blocked .
You need to check your drain pump there is something blocking the pump from draining. It will not go in to spin if the water is still there.
That’s the same problem I had something was stuck in the drain pump and I cleared it and then it worked
Ok I'ma try it! Because this shit driving me nuts!
Read your manual. It is not installed properly.
I have the same problem you have with your washer. And I'm sure it is the sensor that needs to be replaced. I brought my top loader brand new and it's a headache.
Same I had no issues
Could it be the belt?, lock switch?,
I have the same washer the control panel is black tho, it’s not spinning,it’s making the electrical buzz sound but the drum is not spinning ! Last night I washed a load and today I checked it again and it’s left chunks of soap on my clothes.
This damn washer is fricken nerve wracking smfh
Did you put the clothes in first? I just got mine yesterday and I always let the water fill up first then add my clothes with my old one. I did that with this one and it only put a quarter of the water. So I'm guessing I should put my clothes in first. Idk
I have this washer and it sucks the only setting that seems to fill up is the bulky setting. I hate it and I regret buying it 😩
@@shirleeporras6469 I agree!!! I wish I would have just had my old one repaired.
is this harpo marx showing the washer
Everyone that's having trouble with starting their washer you're gon need to recalibrate it
Did you show us if there is water coming out of the discharge hose at all ? Did you check for kinks ?
Did the installer remove the red rubber cap over the hard plastic discharge outlet located on the lower back of the machine, the one that the black discharge hose gets fastened too, or did he somehow forget & install the hose over the cap ??
Cause it sounds normal to me....the water turning on after a interruption (ie lifting the lid) during a cycle is normal...
What happened to washing machines that sprayed water on the spin cycle?
It sounds like the drain pump is jammed
The locked light is not lit up which is indicating that the lid is not locking during the cycle you selected. You can check there first to troubleshoot your issues.
It keeps flashing green on spin how do I start a new load?
hello my washing machine hits a lot when spinning, What should I do, it no longer has a guarantee and I can't buy another one.I have to repair it myself.
Thanks a lot
We had the same issue. We had a appliance guy come check it out and he couldn't figure it out either. We ended up throwing the washing machine away the dryer works amazing tho
You unplug the washer for 10 minutes, then grab the tub by the inner lip on each side and pull up, you will hear a click. Then it will work again.
You push the middle button to start it,that little button is to pause it during cycles. And it stops everytime you open the lid
This machine is a piece of junk. You can only wash maybe 3 to 4 towels at a time. I have the same exact issues as everyone else. All these new washers machines work the same way. The old machines were better
Michael Corrado they work well IDK why you think it's a piece of junk
Work jeans don’t get clean. Areas of sheets don’t even get wet. A load of wash seems to take HOURS! It doesn’t soak the clothes ... it ‘spritzers’ them! I swear it ties my sheets into knots. It’s a $400 piece of crap that I gave away after 9 months.
Juli Jones mine worked great for the first year and a half. Now it has all kinds of problems.
Yeah this washer is junk my grandma has the maytag version of this and the maytag version does way better than this shitpool junk
Juli Jones mine dosent dispensed a lot of waster is this normal 🤔
The washer is pretty good because we have a washer but it’s in it’s black and gray black and gray wash sure we have the same one like yours it’s the same one like yours but it’s working fine because the washer was at work when the weather was bad I think it was ice ice in the other washer and a blue one in the washer in the washer blew up and we had to use another washer so we got another washer it’s always good recommend it’s always good to get a back up washer just in case if you wash it goes out it’s always good to have a second washer just in case just in case if something happens to the washer you can have the other water for a long time in the in the shed or no more andYou can go get another washroom and you can go get another washer and another wash it will last for like 30 years of 40 years of 45 years old and ask you but can you get another washer knew and you knew put the other washer up and everything so if something happens to this if something happens to the washer then you can then you can switch the washer now you know how to go and buy another one or anything bye-bye an extra washer when you have money when you have money I’m saying I’m saying this right now when you have money go buy another washer because another washer will help you buy another washer so you can save that washer if something happens then then you can switch to wash it out real quick and you don’t have to worry about buying
I have same washer, that noise is the pump tying to pump out the water in tub, maybe it has a problem with pump impeller, or a clogged hose.
What year is this washer & dryer ??
can you send the link to where u purchsed this
It needs to be calibrated. Very simple.
idk we did all that when we called and nothing.. water didnt drain.
The same thing is happening to me. Only a one year old. What was the problem
Mine works fine had it for a year. Only thing I hate is there’s no dispenser for fabric softener and it stays locked durning the whole wash , so I can’t ever open it during rinse cycle to just pour it in.
