You and me girl. I get scared of anything technical. I actually bought a course on podcasting before watching this and I must say I learned some things I didn't learn from the other course. And Pat has a way of making things easier to understand. Editing my own podcast still scares me but I guess we'll eventually get used to it like they say. I wish I didn't have to bother myself with this technical side of things.

    Great tutorial Pat!
I'd like to add a tip for editing a podcast in Audacity. In the top right corner there is a small green button and right next to it you can adjust the playback speed. When editing I usually speed up the playback to 1.70x-1.80x. This allows me to speed up the playback while editing and saves me lots of time. Also this function does not alter your final file in any way and the software exports the file at regular speed.

Oh man this is huge, editing always takes 2-3 times longer than the actual length of the episode. Thanks!

I'm planning to create a podcast where I do overviews of my most favorite show, The X-files. I lnow there are a lot out there but i mostly want to do it for myself and if people love it, thats a bonus. I'm learning a lot from your videos.

I'm the same. Not x files but hoping to do three twenty minute pods a week. One just being a little bit of a moan or take on news. One about football (Manchester United) and a final one about retro raw(wrestling) review. All subjects that have many big podcasts about already but I just wanna give it a shot. I hope your podcast goes well. Point being who cares if there's loads out there, none are yours and it will be special for you. Best of luck and wishing you success.
