    Bought mine practically in great condition from a guy for 240 and man the picture quality is out of this world but what really makes me go crazy is how the sound quality literally sounds like it's coming straight from a sound bar in some ways even better and that impressed me from a 2018 now using in 2024😂

    I purchased mine in 2018 when it was brand new and it cost $3598.00, BEFORE tax. Nearly $4K total. I feel sick to my stomach seeing how it dropped in price so quickly. Now people are getting them for under $1000. However, I still use my TV constantly all this time later and it’s still a beast. No burn in or technical issues whatsoever.

      I know where you're coming from man. Got mine for $2.5k after tax at the end of 2018... yours seems a bit overpriced! That's the premium we paid for being early adopters. Now if only the OLED PC monitors could come down in price as well! There's that Alienware OLED but I prefer a more standard 16:9 aspect ratio. Glad your TV works great - mine is fine too, except for the remote that's a little worn:)

    I have the 65in OLED C8 (bought in 2018 too) , and it still works great for me, no issues. I use it for PS5 & Apple TV . Now it’s DEC2021 , I just bought the 45in OLED C1 , as a secondary monitor in another room . I want to say the picture is better ? But if so it’s pretty minimal . I’m a wait a while before I upgrade my 65in again.

      Nice! So you have 2 LG OLED TVs. Quite a luxurious arrangement haha. I've seen tech reviews use the 40+ inch OLEDs as PC monitors and they seem to work great. Don't think TVs need similar upgrade cycles like phones and tablets... I'm satisfied with mine for a couple more years I think.

    Thanks for the review. I’m about to buy a used lg c8 for $850. Worried about burn in or any other issues. Glad you don’t have any issues with yours. Was considering a new QLED.

    • @LockdownTechToys
      @LockdownTechToys  3 года назад

      No problem, glad it helped! Probably the auto screensaver worked too, but I don't have any issues with burn-in whatsoever. I guess it's more about home setup - QLED is more appropriate for brightly-lit rooms and if the TV console's closer to the windows, but personally I'd take OLED screens any day due to the inky blacks and that my curtains stay closed most of the time.

    The only thing i hate is the screen dims when there's no movement after a few seconds and there's no fix. And i find the controller very wonky to scroll.

    • @LockdownTechToys
      @LockdownTechToys  3 месяца назад

      If you're talking about remotes, the Samsung one is a lot more intuitive and overall more user-friendly. Screen dimming is unavoidable for OLED screens and intended to protect the screen from burn-in, I think

    The LGC8 looks better than the LG G1!

    • @LockdownTechToys
      @LockdownTechToys  2 года назад +1

      Seems like the G1 is intended for wall mounting, while the C8 looks better with thw stand!

    • @hababacon
      @hababacon 2 года назад +1

      @@LockdownTechToys I'm talking about picture quality, my C8 blows my G1 clean out the water. The G1 PQ is not bad, better than my old C6, it's just don't hold a candle to my C8. The G1 has bad color banding, I have to set smooth gradation to high on the G1, C8 it's set to low. Dynamic contrast works better on the C8 as the G1 completely blows out highlights at med/high while the C8 retains detail. Also most of the G1 picture settings menus are grayed out, I like their cinema setting in Dolby Vision but can't turn off automation. Game Optimizer looks good but can't set dynamic contrast to Low to give me a little bit more punch. The C8 DV is also brighter with HDR on the C8 looking like DV on the G1. I decided to keep the G1 but will probably sell it next year when newer models come out. I do like the G1 gaming motion and going back to the C8 gaming feels slow. So I'm telling people if they have a C9 and game there's no reason to upgrade to the C1,X, or G1 and X. The picture quality is degraded, especially with color banding. If you have a C7 or older than yeah the G1 will look and play better.
