My goodness, the production of this video is astonishingly good. I almost forget I was watching a baking tutorial. And the cake was a masterpiece. It looks like you're baking in Narnia. It doesn't deserve a "like", it deserves an oscar.
Simple and beautiful. Very creative from a place of simplicity. This video literally displays the power of simplicity. Absolutely loved it, every little detail, from the wooden table to the apples ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello Linda: I am so grateful I found your channel. I made this recipe today with one substitute. I didn’t have the artisanal sugar on hand so I used brown sugar. It was still great. You are amazing! The cardamom was the perfect amount. I am never impressed by the big production cooking channels. I look at the content, not production, because I am a seasoned cook (a Greek yiayia- grandma). However, your videos have a sweet, tender and captivating feel. Keep on posting Linda! You are a very talented pastry chef! Thank you for sharing your talent! Anna from New York City
Broooooo been looking for this recipe for so long and your video is just perfect. Im making the cake, Ill updated later Sorry im back. I demolished it.. it was too good. Imma making another one. Pro tip : put less cinamom, grind the seeds of a fresh cardamon seed with one clove et grate some nutmeg in it. You can sub some of the white sug for some brown for a morr moist cake. Thank you so much for this recipe!
At friday i found your book in the store. Since then i try two recipes. And they are so tasty and easy to do with common ingrediants. Now i found you on insta and here. I REALLY love your eyecandy pictures. Thank you!
Your video and photographs echo my sentiment. Cooking and baking should be considered forms of artistic expression. Truly beautiful and inspiring. Thank you!!
I always wait anxiously for your new video. But they are not video recipes, they are art video. I like every single second of them, every single frame. So, so beautiful!
@@LindaLomelino I'm 100% honest! I have already appreciated you and your skills as photographer, but your videography is even more, in my opinion. You're such an inspiration!
Just finished making this recipe for the first time. I made the mistake of greasing the sides of the baking tin, so when I poured in the caramel, the butter obviously melted and mixed in with the caramel. I'm hoping it looks better when it cools - although it's looking pretty good at the moment. Can't wait to taste it. Thanks again.
@@LindaLomelino Thanks again, Linda. I'm typically and overly critical of everything thing I bake myself, but this particular cake turned out fantastic. The flavour was the best flavour I've achieved with any of my previous bakes. ...and I do bake a lot! The cake is now gone - Always an encouraging sign. 😄
Hello! Planning to make this for Thanksgiving. If we don't have flakey salt do we leave the salt out since the butter is salted? Also, I have a new convection oven. Do you know the time/temp difference? Everything I bake gets burnt/dried out 😅
Hi Carlos! That's completely normal, that will disappear once the cake is baked! I'm sorry I didn't clarify that in the video, it is specified in the recipe on my blog.
1) Not sure a springform pan is suitable here..almost half the caramel leaked, burned, smoke etc. a near disaster. 2) 45 minutes it was still quite raw (liquid center). But eventually the cake was delicious so it's worth the house fire and the waiting
Springform pans tend to get wonky over time so it sounds like you may need a new one! As you can see in the video I used one myself (and have made this cake many times!) and did not have that problem. What you can do is use a regular pan and put a piece of baking paper in to cover the bottom and sides so the cake lifts out. It will likely not look as good as with a springform pan and it might not even be that easy to lift out 😅 but it will definitely help with the leaking problem!

That is so kind of you!!! Thank you ♥️
I'm absolutely in love with how you play with light in your photography (and now in video). So beautiful 😍
Thank you so much ❣️ I absolutely love making these videos!! I hope it shows!
Such artistry! Food and art - two of my most favourite things interwoven into this magical production.
Thank you so much, that is so kind of you to say!!

Excellent representation, love the whole video and also the cake

I'm sure the butter in the pan shouldn't affect the outcome! I hope the cake came out delicious :-) Thank you for sharing!

This is an amazing channel everyone should apriciate it

I've just made this and it tastes amazing 😍 It leaked little bit but I had pan under it so it was ok. I will do that again for sure 😍😊
So glad to hear that!! ♥️

just perfect Linda 😍😍
Thank you so much Fatema!
So beautiful ❤, i wonder why so few likes. Sharing
Hi this one looks amazing. If I half the sugar in your recipe will it affect the consistency of the cake?
Hi Santhya! It might affect the texture, but I guess it would be worth a try 😊
I like the video background setting. By the way, what type of apple did you use?
Hii, sorry for my late reply! I'm using a variety called 'Ingrid Marie'!
Can I leave out the cardamon or use another spice?
Some channels are really underrated.
Thank you so much, Zara!
What species of apple
?
So beautiful...I do love all
The caramel did not work for me - the sugar separated from the butter and the mixture did not get homogeneous. I tried it 3 times :(

@@LindaLomelino Thanks :) and this is indeed my mistake cause I know that one I used is quite old..that aside, it's THE perfect cake! Thank you
