The filthy, disgusting Billionaire Bourgeoisie COULD help pay for all this new, beautiful, NECESSARY public space... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 😏 BUT THEY WON'T. 🤑🐷🤑 Time for the Guillotines. ♥️
I think you are referring to the section "Bridging the Berm". This entire section will provide robust vertical protection for the Lower East Side from future storm surge and rising sea levels. Both the berms and bridges will be wide and planted with a diverse selection of salt tolerant trees, shrubs, and perennials to create a steadfast urban habitat. On the project page (see link above in the video description) you'll find a detailed description of the different project sections.

I'm sorry if they think those little mountains will protect anything. They haven't been thru category 5 storms that will literally wipeout bridges and bring damn near 30 ft waves inland.
Thanks for this video. One question. There is an FDR frontage road in front of East River Coops south building (at Grand and FDR). A few years ago, plans for the East River Blueway called for connecting Grand St. with nearby Corlears Hook Park. This gave peds and bicyclists easy access to East River Park while eliminating a traffic lane - currently used for illegal parking - and substituting trees, grass, and a path. Can this be incorporated in the berm/park widening project?

Awesome idea!
What is the music of the video
This would really help NYC and make it very nice. Parks and green spaces are quite nice in a city... Whats stopping them from building it?
