  • Last summer i had an issue with my fuel gauge. I couldnt find what the exact fault was at the time so i didnt publish this video. It was only by chance i was doing some other work on the car and found some dirty connections on the bsi wiring plug..This seemed to cause a signal fault to the gauge.I didnt have any wiring diagrams for the fuel gauge so im guessing it goes though this plug. After cleaning these pins up the fuel gauge has gone back to reading the correct amount.
If this has helped you in anyway feel free to drop me a few pennys via paypal to shaunsautorepairs@hotmail.com. Thanks for watching guys n gals. See you in the next one

@@BusisiweSahadat-p6t hi, does the needle drop to zero when you turn the ignition off or does it stay at full all the time......
If it stays at full all the time I would say it's a stuck gauge. If it drops to zero when turned off you possibly have a stuck sender unit in the tank.

@@BusisiweSahadat-p6t under the small rear right hand seat swab is a plastic cover in the floor that if removed should give you access to the fuel pump. If you remove the wiring plug from the pump and retry with the ignition on. If the gauge stays at the bottom then we could say the pump sender unit is faulty. If the gauge still goes to full with it unplugged then you either have a faulty gauge or other wiring fault

@@BusisiweSahadat-p6t maybe it's on the other side... mines a diesel so may be diffrent.. I'd you haven't got a cover in the floor then you may have to someone to drop the tank to check....
If it has been stuck since you last filled the tank right up you could try tapping the underside of the tank with a plastic mallet or piece of wood to see if you free it and make it full.... Thats realy all I can suggest apart from getting it into your local garage for a diagnosis.
