- In this video, I talk about the origins of the Maruti brand, go in depth about the Maruti Suzuki SS80, the story of how I got my car, and a buyer's guide for people looking to buy one these days.
Mahn we really really miss both of guys in talking cars ... please don't leave TALKING CARS channel behind...if you guys are having time together just talk about automotive stuff just by siting inside a car or something.
All the best jD ..by the way camera quality and tuning is awesome 👍🏼
Exactly...we miss that partnership....
They both were outstanding and fun watching, ..
“Hey everybody welcome to jaydsgarage“ ❤❤❤
I don't know what went wrong with you guys... I really missed the chemistry between JD and Vivek as both are real automotive enthusiasts. Hope to have the talking cars back .
True..
Yeah. We want talking cars back.
Really
Yes
Yes, both have a great chemmistry, why you guys have consider to re-join again.....
37 minutes of pure enthusiasm !! ❤
😀
This has to be the best factory color for the SS80! Beautiful!
Imagine the Suzuki deal didn't happen though, we would have had the mk1 Golf!
And if honda approved instead of Suzuki we would have had the city with the moped right?
Yeah ! But the mk1 golf wouldn’t have made an impact like this car. Pricing would have been significantly higher!
Aww boy I still remember JayD , Ajay from Trivandrum and few of them were so active in discussing about ss80 back in the days on TEAM BHP . I use to read each and every succinct and long conversation up and down between them ..
Bottom line i started having a feeling of owning one which ended up me buying one in 2014 …
Ever since then I having been owning one …
slowly but surely once u go with 800 then there is no going back !!
Thanks JAYD for inspiring the next generation too ….
Much appreciated now and always !!!
Thank you Anish! Yeah. He is an encyclopaedia on the ss80 and has given me a lot of good info back in the day.
Very Nice feature, JD... The original owner will be very proud about his decision to have given his car to you.
Some more features I could remember are absence of a left side mirror, cigarette lighter, the flush- fitting Ash tray, key lock in passenger side, and the thick metal. When I upgraded from a 1990 maruti 800 (inherited from my Pappa) to a 2007 maruti 800, I was shocked by the heavy sound inside the cabin when I took it in the rain for the first time... How cars were engineered those days!
After seeing this video I had an urge to buy a vintage car. But difficulty to maintain a car made me think of buying a vintage bike. Finally I bought a vintage bullet 1969 model . Now I am enjoying the vintage ride😊
Thank you JD for bringing back our memories with the OG “Indian people car”. Still remember the days when I was just waiting to grow up to get hold of that thin two spoke steering written Maruti in Hindi. Only reason why I still have a soft corner for the brand😊
😃😃
Yeah, same hindi badge in the rear too if I'm not wrong.
@@hareebee yes 👍

37 minutes of pure passion and enthusiasm!!Happy to see you back in action Bro.❤️
this channel is unlike any other automotive channel in India. With your unlimited passion & the production quality it’s just so brilliant. I loved your format. Even though this can’t replace talking cars, this and Content with cars are my most favourite Indian automotive youtube channels currently. Eagerly waiting for future contents ❤.
Before this, I miss the talking cars a lot but after watching this video the thing I notice is
you guys should have your different channels because you both are unique, missing my 800
Great video as expected. Looking forward for more classic car contents like these . Beautiful SS80❤
Thanks for bringing back memories of my first drive and owned car... Maruti 800 ❤
I own a 2001 Maruti 800 5 speed DX . From my knowledge early 5 speeds were full Japan built, mine which is mid 2001 "august to be specific" is the fully localized version . Its an absolute joy to drive , the midrange acceleration is amazing . I've just finished my college and this car and I have gone through many bad situation like multiple break downs , once the car broke down in front of my college when I was on my way to attend one of my exams , by grace I didn't miss my exam yet still I love this car to death . One hell of a journey I've had till now .
The 5 speed is the real deal pocket rocket. That car can do over 140kmph whereas the 4 speed 800 does 120kmph.
@@jalexroshyes absolutely , ive done 120 up a hill climb although I've seen the car going beyond the marked speed limited above 144 in one of the oldest AutoCAR India Pictures.
The 5 speed is my fav 800 after the ss80. Truly a future classic.
It's good to see you back on RUclips JayD. My first car was also a maruti 800 which taught me to drive, but I couldn't keep it. But for the love of maruti cars am keeping a maruti zen for past few years ❤
Great quality content and making. Maruti 800 is infact the first car I drove too. We had four maruti 800s in our larger family and I learned driving in all of them. 😊 Very promising and waiting eagerly for next videos.
But we all still really wish to see you both together again in talking cars channel with usual talks around cars. I personally have recommended talking cars to many of my friends. And everyone admired the content.
Loved it!! Back to the good days!! ❤
Thank you, JayD. Your passion towards cars is truly inspirational. Would love to see more of these here! ❤
Thank you! Stay tuned!
So happy to see quality classic /vintage content on RUclips from an Indian Perspective. Kudos JD
Thank you!

Excellent presentation. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Brought back warm memories of our first car, although standard version.

JD, ur love for car is something ❤️ Could connect with what you speak.. You are not faking anything, just pure passion.. Keep bringing good contents like this.
Thank you Ajay! ☺️
Glad that you are back mate.
I liked that you included the pictures of the originally launched colours; it is a brilliant and unique touch and is hard to find. Then the part explaining how you bought the car, the optimistic thing, was touchy.
Good to see you again by the way.
Thank you so much 😀
It’s like a walk down memory lane, amazing stuff 🎉
What a powerful start with SS80 🔥... All the best Jayd for your new channel 👍🏻✌🏻
The visuals in this video are superb! As always, your commentary is top-notch, but I wanted to take a moment to highlight the visuals. They're really well-done, and they make the video a pleasure to watch.
Great job!
Thank you! 😃
Interested story..I get a lot of new knowledge about the ss80 even this name also ..thank you very much ❤..keep continue..
Ss80❤❤
It's true that my family's 1st car was also an 800 .
I first started driving in it when I was in 5th STD ( by sitting on my father's lap).
When I joined in college my best friend had an 800 that was our every thing. Like it was some time our 4X4 and some time it was our s class.
I think this car has lot's of character depending on the driver. ❤
How old are you now ?
The visuals and the colour grading is just amazing!
Good episode jayd ❤ good quality content and presentation.Lot of things discussed in 37 minutes. Worth it❤
From Day 1 of talking cars I was waiting to see the collections of JD, thank you❤

Excellent video. Happy to see JD back on RUclips.
Thanks,Thanks a bunch jayd for this special video!
Wow, amazing camera and production quality ❤
You have just put the car in a time capsule. So Authentic and original fantastic. My father had from the first lot. We had it for ten years 1 L kilometres and never even had to replace a bulb apart from consumables.
Exactly even a bulb was not be faulty… that is the exact sentence to define a Maruthi
Thank you for coming back Jay❤
Fantastic Content and great quality videography ❤🎉
Lovely...beautiful..Happy to gain so much knowledge about the cute, beautiful amazing first of most features, cars in india..
After a long time something I enjoyed and completely watched without any skipping..
Comprehensive and informative. Thanks for the effort. Few relatives had owned this car. One of them was the same color and the other one was that Green.
Brilliant video quality! The first car i too drove was a 800❤
Hi JD, beautifully maintained vehicle and a fitting post. Your camera work and editing also are superb. I was a viewer of talking cars. Few weeks back I saw Vivek alone with his new Chanel, I was unhappy realising that I couldn’t get the same talking car vibes. I loved the the contents you make together.
Thing’s apart we all need nice content. I hope both you can surprise us with great things and I subscribed both channels at the first place.

Really good video quality. Really love the way you share the details. Got used to the long video formats from talking cars, thanks to the quality content. Waiting for more such content.
Thank you Jayakumar!
Happy to see you in new venture ❤
Glad to see old memories from Car& Bike pics and Fahad bathena+gypsy
We still have our 1st family car which is a '96 Esteem planning to get an MPFI swap soon!
this is the car that made my family stick with maruti cars for generations. even though we had couple of TATA cars in our garage for few years as my dad company gave it for travelling. after seeing their mideocare reliability, he always used Maruti for travelling.
