I ordered a 21'' self-propelled from my hospital bed 7/22 for my spouse. I'm not from here, didn't know who to call or trust. Went by customer reports; I believe PS swept the negatives under the carpet. She used it once during the summer of 22 and had to get a lawn service the rest of the season. I was hospitalized all year, came home in time for Christmas, got to check it 4/23. Could barely pull the starter rope. Placed 2 calls to service, sent 1 letter. No responses at all. Started disassembly, removed plug, removed starter, no flywheel brake, flywheel key okay. Only way to pull engine over is to let rope handle return completely to housing. Dual compression lump (???). Spouse bought a Toro S/P bagger elect. start for about $100 more and enjoys it. I saw BBB report, they gave PowerSmart an F, won't even include them. Nothing more I can do until somebody young comes over and yanks on the SOB to try to start it. I wouldn't dare sell it. I have more integrity than that...and the CEO, too.

Very helpful video! I have this same brand lawnmower and bought it about two years ago. It ran great but all of a sudden stopped. I have a feeling it needs a new spark plug. Mine also looks like the same model in the video. Do you remember what brand of spark plug you used to replace it and the model number of the spark plug?

I actually had bought a Honda spark plug. The model is almost the same. Instead of an 8, it's a 5.
I haven't opened it yet, so I'll return it for the correct one. Thanks for your help!

What about the NGK 5044 Iridium IX Spark Plug - BR8EIX? It's iridium so wouldn't it last longer and works better?

I'm looking for some help of a PowerSmart 21" gas push mower. It starts and runs good but the blade stops turning when it hits a patch of grass or gets a small load on it. Mower is probably 6 months old from Lowes and has worked great up until now. I didn't hit anything to stop it turning. At least I didn't hear any big bangs. Afterwards, I removed and sharpened the blade, cleaned the plug, and cleaned the air filter. Any ideas on what the problem may be?
found the problem - busted belt! didn't know it had a belt but found it upon further digging in. thanks anyway. now i need to find a new one.
Are those good mowers and what kind of engines on it? Is it in Briggs & Stratton Kohler or what

Power smart sucks big time....I have replace the carb three times and am on my second set of wheels that couldn't be found.....ya can't find parts
