I am a huge fan of the W204 C63. Thanks for taking me through the whole journey of owning one, I've binge watched all of the videos. I hope you'll keep it indefinitely 😆
Thank you very much for watching all the videos! Not sure if I can promise I’ll keep it, but it most certainly doesn’t have a replacement! As much as I love the look of the 507’s, they’re just too overpriced for what they are. I like to use my C63 regularly too. If I was to do that in a 507, it would lose so much more value compared to a normal C63.
Hi Nathan , Really enjoying your videos and the Great information and experiences you have had I purchased a 2012 C63 coupe a couple of months ago , and have put around 4k miles on it , My work takes me all over the UK and out to Germany Occasionally (I always drive there as I hate flying) I have probably averaged 23 MPG since I have owned it , and managed a best of 28.5 MPG when I was driving through the Netherlands, as there speed limit during the day is 100kmh/60mph that soon dropped when I entered Germany though... these cars just go nuts when there in the Sport + and had a smile on my face when I stretched its legs on the Autobahn Enjoy
You’ve averaged great economy all things considered, I’ve averaged around 19mpg in my 13K miles I’ve done! I’ve nearly had 30mpg, but I was just a little short! I’m envious you’ve experienced the autobahn, I would love to see how fast I could stretch the legs of mine as it’s mapped! I hope you enjoy your C63 in good health! : )
Almost is definitely the key word here, the wet road surfaces sometimes gets me in hairy situations 😆 The instant power and torque makes any overtake effortless like you said though!
I had a feeling this would be the outcome. A more powerful car means that less power is used in normal driving, but with two V8s, the smaller one is bound to do better. Still, I'm surprised that the better gearing did not help the C63, maybe AMG tunes it for response and not gas mileage. I imagine if the S80 had a 7th gear and sat at 1800 rpm on the highway, it would get amazing fuel economy!
Yeah I can’t work out an analysis for it either, maybe the C63 just isn’t built for economy and burns extra fuel out of spite 😂 I finally managed to take the S80 on a longer run. I was hardly trying and wasn’t being too conservative on the throttle, yet I still managed 31mpg!
Love it mate, great video. Every video of yours tempts me closer and closer to pulling the trigger on buying one. Next Video idea - Tunnel runs / Multi storey car park blasts :D Should get an incredible echo
Cheers James! I may have a few tunnel runs in that wales video I did a year back, that was deafening to the point it gave me an ear ache for a while 😆 Might have to consider some ear plugs next time! I will most certainly consider it if I come across any!
Ive got 2012 Coupe, I get 11 to 14 mpg around town. About 25 to 27 on a run. A full tank will last about 160 to 180 miles around town, and about 240 to 260 miles on a run. I find it runs best on Tesco 99.
Interesting to hear that is! I normally get 16/18 around town doing short journeys. Similar to what you get on a run, but have gotten 33mpg on a very long run at 65mph and managed 400 miles with 7 litres left in the tank. I also run mine on Tesco 99!
@@NathanMannin Motorway runs for me are 70 to 80mph. I did hit 280 miles for a tank on a journey to Birmingham and back, but that was driving like miss daisy. I've only had it 6 months, and it's a very nice place to be😎 The performance is mighty! and the noise will never get old. It's not as hard core as an M3 to drive, and I like that, I spend 99% of the time driving in Comfort. Sport and Sport plus is far to angry to drive everyday. I'll be sad to see it go in February.
Hi, I’m looking to buy one in the next 30 days. My question is if I was do a continuous motorway run at speed limits a. How much is a full tank in this car and B. How many miles would that full tank give me driving economically from full to empty. Thanks
Watch my “London to Edinburgh on one tank of fuel” video, that will give you an excellent idea of what these amazing C63’a can do when you drive carefully! 😁😉
Nice one, enjoyed the watch 👍 I've just bought a BMW 645Ci my first ever V8, kinda inspired by your videos! Absolutely loving it. Doesn't seem thaaaat much worse on fuel than my BMW 330Ci I had before and that was similar to my old (well actually newer) A45 AMG of years past. You're inspiring me to make my own fuel economy video🤣
Thank you so much! I was looking at some 645Ci’s as a car on the side! Please do make some fuel economy videos, I would love to watch that! 😆 I’m so glad you’ve got yourself in V8 ownership!
If you keep slow down and accelerate and rev the engine to hear how it's sounds and most importantly 1.8 litr bigger than the Volvo , of course its gonna loose. But you did an awesome video. And in 5 years I'm definitely going to buy one of this Mercedes. Only difference is I want a saloon. And white 😂
On another note, I'd love to see an exclusively motorway (or high speed road) tests with the Volvo and C63. I think a decent trip to a scenic area worth sharing would be great, with a gas mileage report once done
That’s great! I’m selling mine if you’re interested 😆 It’s so varied depending on how you drive, and what sort of commutes you do. Some people get 150/200, others can get 200/300, but if you’re really careful you can get 400! In my ownership I’ve averaged 20mpg over 15,000 miles, that’s an average of around 300 miles per tank full from full to empty. Normally you don’t go to empty though, so maybe 200/230 miles per tank is realistic as I fill up at around a quarter of a tank. That will vary a lot on your driving style though, but that’s what to expect at 20mpg.
@@NathanMannin That's not too bad to be fair. I WFH and probably do about 50ish miles a week normally on a weekend - so I'm guessing it won't be too bad 😂 great content btw
@@jays9213 They aren’t as bad as people think they are on fuel if I’m honest. Admittedly if you do drive it hard on a spirited drive you’ll get low teens, but for just normal driving with the occasional bootful, you won’t return horrendous fuel economy. You won’t be feeling the sting either with 50 miles a week either! Thank you very much Jay, I actually have one more epic video filmed with this car which will do it justice, which I’ll be posting within the next few weeks! Surprise surprise it’s to do with the topic we’re talking about, but quite a big achievement for both the car and me I think 😆
All facelift examples (coupe was facelift only) came with the revised 7 speed MCT gearbox. Mine isn’t a 125 edition. The 125 edition was just a random edition that came with COMAND as standard I believe, although it’s no different to a normal C63. My Coupe is a performance package version, which has some slight differences to a standard C63. A 125 edition would be no different to a regular C63 really.
@@1Amir_G I’ve never been in a 125 so I wouldn’t be able to give you a concise answer I’m afraid! But I don’t think there would be any reason why they’d be different! If in doubt, join some C63 Facebook groups as they’re so helpful and would be able to answer any questions you have in a jiffy!
@@NathanMannin thanks for speedy responses, I’ve asked over on mbclub forum not getting a definitive answer.. not on fb so can’t ask over there, if you ever find a firm answer please drop it here or make a RUclips video :)
It’s not actually that bad, the steering feels great and feels planted to the road, not like it’s on rails but it doesn’t lean or feel like a boat. I’ve hardly ever had the TC off, but if you do lose it; it’s very easy to catch and predictable. I’ve had it full on sideways in the wet which was very fun, but I also managed to catch that one too 😆 Definitely not the most engaging car for handling but it’s not bad either, and when the car does decide to be playful, it’s rewarding because you know you’ll always be in control! TC off is a different story, you really need to be awake for that 🤣

I believe its value will skyrocket in the next few years to come. If you get a chance, you may swap it for the Edition 507 coupe.

Makes sense. Besides, it's really about the M156 🔥 Thank you for the insight.
The c63 w204 is my dream car and i love to see you enjoying it. Keep it up with more c63 content please.
