I love my 29'er and I have had the same one since 2016. I am getting too old to buy a new bike although I did enjoy Rocky Mountain bike I rented in Campbell River, BC, Canada. Now I am off to Hall Ranch trails in Colorado. Thank you for your content.
I own a 2021 Altitude C50 It's black and purple and looks fantastic but I'm jealous of the new colour scheme. The bike itself is the best I've ever owned/ridden. Doubt I'll ever get another bike that's not a Rocky
Nice vid dude! One thing I’ll say, I ride the same bike and you really need to ride it faster and with more aggression to really feel what the bike is meant to feel like 👍🏾
Agreed! I thought this bike shined in corners and fast tech. It didn't climb poorly though. I demod a commencal enduro bike and thought the RM climbed better.
How do you like the sizing of RMaltitude? Im 5’9 and looking at size medium. While youre riding you mentioned that you feel like that there is no room to move around. Is it too cramped? Thanks Glad youre ok! That fall looks pretty bad 😮
Sizing felt pretty good! I had trouble moving around at one point because the dropper wasn't fully down, but it wasn't due to the cockpit. It went away when the dropper went down. The cockpit felt pretty dialed IMO. I'm 5'8" with a 6' wingspan and a slightly longer torso than average, so I could have ridden a large too. I did notice the transition from 27.5 to 29. I hit my butt on the rear wheel quite a few times. If I had to give you advice... I'd say you'd be good on either. Get the M if you like em' flickier and get the L if you want stability and want to go fast. Also, measure your wingspan and your torso length. You should size up if you have a huge wingspan and/or long torso.
I took the Altitude down Apex last year, that thing is an absolute weapon on high speed tech. I did switch from 35mm to 30mm rims on my Ripmo last year and like it a lot more than the 35mm Ibis rims. The bike definitely corners easier and also has less rolling resistance as the tire profile isn't super flat like it is on 35s. If you notice most of the Ibis sponsored riders aren't running the Ibis rims, BKXC and Loam Ranger ran the Blk Brd rims one season and BKXC went to Spoke X wheels and I think Loam Ranger is on NOBLs now. JKW runs i9 wheels on basically all his bikes including all 3 of his Ripmos.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing this. I'm glad I'm not the only one who seems to like 30 mm rims more. I recently mulleted my Ibis Mojo HD5 and put a 30mm rim in front. I still have the 35mm out back, though. I'm liking it so far!
I had a 2023 Rocky Mtn Altitude 4.0 . It required a lot more rider energy than a Brose, Bosch or Yamaha to get the most out of it. The biggest drawback was the battery charging system overcharged the battery and the battery exploded and burned everything in my garage to ashes. Rocky Mountain seemed to want to help, but in the end they just wanted to get the burned bike out of my possession and pretend it never happened. They hired a bunch of lawyers to threaten me from telling this true event. I feel a duty to warn potential buyers of the very real danger of keeping a Rocky Mountain bike indoors. The damage to my home and property is over 350k, and I am lucky to be alive. Don't take the risk with a Rocky Mountain E-MTB. It is not worth it.
@@GnarlyBearMTB Yeah, those signs are as neon as it gets for the trails. Breckenridge and Cumberland has those. I wish we had them here in the Pisgah Forest trail system here in North Carolina. Thank you again for your generous content.
Before you ask: the bike is ok 🤣
How on earth did you survive that?

Thanks! I enjoyed riding it. It definitely felt faster and more stable at speed.
BTW have fun at Hall Ranch! I love that place. It's a go to recommended ride for out of towners

I friggin love rocky mountain color schemes. I think the black n purple looks sick FWIW. New bike looks sick too though

@@GnarlyBearMTB Annnnddddd, I ended up buying a RM Altitude myself, got a killer deal on a C70 build. Loving it so far.
@@mrvwbug4423 hell yeah. Awesome bike. Congrats!

I know Floyd hill when I see it haha. Also, Jesse Melamed rides for Canyon bikes since the end of last year now
😆 lol. Not if you're still watching Pinkbike podcasts from last year! Yeah he does ride for canyon now.
Oh my gosh! How on earth did you survive that???
It wasn't so bad in person, but definitely not rollable at my speed. The big red "drop" sign probably should have been heeded lol.
