Love the team "layers". First time I did a massive decluttering maybe 7 years ago I actually thought I was done. I was surprised months later when I found so much more stuff. I've realized now each declutter just exposes a new layer to be examined with new eyes. Love your videos. An inspiration!
So glad I found your channel 😍 I started my minimalist journey 3 weeks ago and decluttered almost 300 clothing pieces / shoes 😳 I feel embarrassed about myself being such a victim of consumerism. Nevertheless, I already notice how everything is becoming clearer in my head and I am beginning to understand what I really need.
Welcome to the family here Kamiele!! 💖 And that’s so awesome you were able to declutter so much congrats!! No need to feel embarrassed- over consumption is normalized and even glorified all around us. It takes deep awareness and resolve to snap out of it and make different choices. Kudos to you! Keep going with your journey 🩷🩷
I’m just not gonna make the f’ing soup! 😂👏 Yessss, I love this! I’ve also let go of things that were creating a mental to-do I was never going to actually do.
Yet another wonderful video! What I love most about your content is that even though my reality is completely different from yours, you help me be so much more conscious with everything that I own and do! Thank you so much for your lovely insights. Your belongings are starting to remind me of Fumio Sasaki, author of "Goodbye, Things". Have you read it? It's an amazing book on minimalism. Anyways, sending you lots of love!! I hope your move goes well. 💖
Thank you so much Natalia I’m so glad you are finding inspiration here 😊 And I have not read his book but I saw an interview with him and it was a huge inspiration for me 💜💜

Your videos are so timely (for me!). Today, I accidentally broke a tea cup and a glass. Immediatley prompted questioning of how often I use even an already low inventory of kitchenware. The mindfulness you bring to each decision to honor the PRESENT, with each season of life, clearly defines your lifestyle--- and it is a beautiful way to BE. Conversely, my elderly neighbor friend is experiencing a different season of her own awareness. She recently shared with me how much she wants to go swimming at one of the local pools! At first, I thought she was joking with me. She then reminded me about her childhood home was "on the water." (While I don't want to get into a pool myself, I offered to suck it up -- literally -- get a swimsuit and take her to one of the pools. She's still deciding 😆) And your mention of "heavy" energy resonates with my own recognition of energies (seen and unseen) that may be weighing me down. My (downstairs) neighbor also snores LOUDLY. He moved in a few months ago, and when I first heard him, I thought there was a wild animal outside 🤣 Funny that he has a very quiet energy when wide awake.😆 Though living with less, I always learn something new from your videos. You have introduced a new (for me) habit of cleaning the prep cookware BEFORE I sit down to meals - thank you! So, you see HOW relatable you are! I am very happy about your move. To know that you will be on the 3rd floor of a newer building informs that the mold and bug issues will soon be a past concern. And wonderful friends you have who are helping with the "gap" time of leaving the old place and arriving at your new space. ❤ All good things ❤
Thank you for this thoughtful reflection Jean. That is so sweet you are taking your neighbor to a pool- we need more love and care for the elderly in this world. Sorry to hear about the “wild animal” below you hahah hope it’s not interrupting your sleep too bad. Thank you for the well wishes my friend 💚
I can relate to this video so much. I am thinking about letting go of my guitar. My fingertips hurt from Diabetes testing and my voice can't hit the super high notes anymore when I sing. My ego was all my graduate school books -- a wall of them. I decided the degree was the same point but smaller. Now the degree takes up a bit too much room. I love that progression of letting go of ego. It doesn't lessen the achievement, but it's embodied.
I was able to get rid of caffeine back in April. I know to change finally took after all these years because I went thru a period of working brutal hours at work and never slipped back into it. Its a great feeling to be free from that dependency.

great video, thank you for sharing and inspiring and I love the stories and thought processes. I'm not an extreme minimalist but have been minamilish most of my life (and most of my friends call me a minimalist). I treat charity / thrift shops as my extra plate and cutlery storage - if I need extras - I go, buy some and then donate them back after - a bit like a 'hire' and a nice way to help support whatever charity it is. Releasing items from our previous lives or stages / who we were is interesting isn't it - I kept a pair of jazz shoes (I was a contemporary dancer in my teens) until I was in my 30s because I so identified with being a dancer even though I had let it go, and I also kept art supplies I bought when I was at art college even though I didn't really use them - I had an epiphany one day - probably not long before I was 40 lol and released the whole lot back to the universe - and now I am free to draw and dance as much as I like - I went on to train as a shakti dance (the yoga of dance) facilitator - it was like releasing the stuff freed up the energy to move myself....in a different way - and to reconnect with the soul essence of what it really means to me to dance as I am now - rather than what it had previously meant..... I love that you are so real and honest with yourself and you listen to your logic and heart. You have really helped me let of major things. Thank you!!!
Good luck with the move! 🥰 I can relate a lot with the weight of things. The more I have the more I feel anxious and heavy. I love how you are letting go of all of these things and your thought process to let go 🥰
Great video! My husband and I live in a tiny house and often eat off of our wooden cutting board. It works great for hummus veggie meals, avocado toast, and fruit nut platters.
You are such an inspiration and each video encourages me to push my minimalism limits and evaluate my needs. Congrats on finding a new place! I bet that is a huge weight lifted off your shoulders! 💗 Can’t wait to see it!
Very inspiring video. I hope your move goes well and your new space is reinvigorating for you. I’m looking forward to your packing and home tour videos.
You letting go of the swimming stuff is thought-provoking for me, and I'm curious now what it would feel like to consider giving my dance stuff away (if I take another dance class, I don't think I'll need ballet-specific dance clothes). Also, regarding the dishes: a friend of mine said that in Indigenous culture when they got together to eat, everyone would bring their own bowl and utensils. So if you have people over, you can ask them to bring their own bowls.
So excited for you Alicia! I've moved 17 times in the last 30 years!😂 I love a new adventure! ✨️ 😌 Sending all the positive vibes your way for your new beginning ✨️ 💛 🙏 Can't wait for the home tour! P.s - I can't make soup either! 🫣😂
I hardcore love that you refer to your dishes as Noah’s Ark. I love the idea of just using a bowl…funny enough my husband loves pasta bowls vs plates. I say do what works for you! Love this video and can’t wait to see all the moving stuff and new apartment!
Totally awesome. I use a big bowl similar to what you use for my salad as well. I thought it was just me. Your channel is inspiring for me as a minimalist. I've adopted floor sleeping in recent months, and love it, and have ditched our two seater sofa which was worn out anyway. I too dine on the floor. When you look at other cultures around the world, it's a healthy lifestyle to adopt. You're a great example for minimalism, and letting go of attachment to things. Thank you from Australia. 🇦🇺❤
That is wonderful to hear, and I am so intrigued about floor sleeping! I’ve heard a lot of good things about it in the comments here.. Glad you are finding inspiration here- and thank you for being part of the family here, my minimal friend from down under ;) 🩷
As always great! ❤😊 Inspired to declutter in my kitchen now. Moved in beginning of april for the 6 time in 2 years so have decluttered a lot. So excited to see your new place. 🤗🥰
I’m so excited for you, and I love samurai matcha! He’s so cute! I wish I could get down to the bare minimum in kitchen stuff but my husband hoards kitchen stuff and would be pretty annoyed if I started decluttering!
It tickled me to watch the video and read through all of the lovely comments. We commonly say, “Good luck with your move” to each other with a big groan behind it since everyone (!!!) knows how hard moving can be. But in your case, the opposite is true. You don’t need luck because you’ve created a reality that is full of ease. Still, it feels rude to not wish you luck - so sending you retroactive good luck on the move you’ve already done. 😂
Wow, this is inspiring. I have two full sets of dishes. One for most of the year and one for the holiday season. It’s a little ridiculous but I love both. Thinking of getting rid of half of each and just have one full set with a combination of both. I have such a hard time with having spent time and money looking for these special pieces. Can’t wait to see your moving video and your new apartment setup 😊
If you love them it’s okay to keep them, but if they feel like they are starting to weigh on you perhaps you can lean into what it would be like with less. How often are there occasions where every single piece is getting used? …that’s a great idea to keep a little of both… 🩷
Makes sense. The idea of soup is great but I always forget to eat it when i make it 🙊. Same with tea, i let it go cold and feed it to the plant... So why bother in the first place. There is so much we tell ourselves we should do but never really actually do, meanwhile dragging loads of stuff with us. Wish you good luck in your new home. Moving will be a breeze 💚
I love your serene presence and your message. I mirror you in many ways and relate to and get your beliefs so much. Have a fab day ❤🇦🇺 PS So happy you’ve discovered Samurai Matcha ❤
Alicia, i am excited for this new phase of life for you. The one bowl idea is something i have admired about my buddhist mentor. It so simplifies the washing up after eating. I would love to do this but I'm sharing an apartment with my son and I have some of his stuff. But we only have two flat plates that we use because we never entertained and if we do then everybody just brings their own plates. Are you going to use your new place to try out sleeping on the floor? Have a great and peaceful day..
Thank you Mark 🙏🏻 Sounds like despite having cohabitation you still are able to keep things very simple ;) Working out the sleeping situation still- will have an update soon :)
Omgosh, the soup thing hit home for me. I, too, thought I would learn to make soup and I never did. The funny thing is that I eat soup so very infrequently that it made no sense to keep my big pot either😅😅😅
Congratulation! I'm so happy of you that you found your sanctuary, new beginning💖💖💖. I don't know how to make soup either..lol..I eat the same food everyday and I love it.💖💖
You are my biggest inspiration ❤❤❤ I try to incorporate as much minimalism as possible (living with a non minimalist and 2 cats😂). Your content is always very refreshing
I’m moving within a week too🙏btw, I tried booda butter. I tried the deodorant and it’s a total delight and smells like fresh coconut cream. I have tried cream pot deodorants before and found them to be unusable. This one I actually am excited to use❤️ because of the scent and easy application and bonus I get a nice little glass jar to upcycle🙏
Decluttering is always a joy, isn't it? I declutter regularly, mostly stuff my mother has filled the apartment with. She gets very annoyed and even angry when I declutter so I have to do it in a very discreet way 😂 but I do every single day, small stuff she doesn't even remember about. I obviously declutter my stuff too, but I don't have that much at this point, although there's a few things I have to decide what to do with. I'm talking about hobbies stuff I keep in nice containers which I no longer use. I'll get rid of it by the end of the year I think. As I said before, when I'll live on my own I'll get rid of everything as I don't need more than a pot and a pan and few other things. A spartan lifestyle is what I dream of and have been planning for years. Good luck with your move ❤
If and when you meet Mr. Right (as you mentioned in the video lol), I’m sure he will have a similar minimalist mindset/lifestyle as you and will admire your minimalist practise. 🙌
I drank classical coffee before few days and I felt loss of energy and pain in head… I guess I have intolerance to coffee. When you are drinking it everyday, you do not notice bit if you quit, you feel big difference. I am still drinking decaff but maybe one day will quit. What tea you like to drink? 😊Soups are easy to make but to make it tasty… I have one super easy recipie for lentil soup. Just chop everything, put in pot and simmer. If you want can share the recipie 😊
Maybe this winter will be the one.. 😂 And yes coffee can really mess with you- i was on decaf for a couple years but there is still a micro amount of caffeine in there and it still messed with me. I only drink herbal (caffeine free) tea- my favorites are camomile, peppermint, and a blend I have of butterfly pea flower with lavender 💜
I was thinking you can use your wooden board for avo toast or anything else that would need a flat surface I even do that sometimes just to not make extra dishes
You focus on yourself and your needs. I like that a lot. A simple life if a good life. Simple is strong...... By the way. You are a kind of the female version of Tyler Durden from the movie Fight Club :-)
Not going to make the fi-ng soup! lol I was curious about what your process is when you decide to add things to your possessions. Is there alot of deliberations?
If it’s not a hell yes- then it’s a hell no. I have to really know in my gut that something is right to be brought into my life, otherwise I won’t do it ;)
Hi there, love your video (as always)❤. I have such a random question, but I recently watched a vid of yours where you talked about not wanting kids but having a sister with kids. Curious if when you were younger, you felt pressure or doubts or anxiety about your siblings "milestone" for pregnancies and motherhood, versus where you were at. I am struggling with the idea of my older sister as a mom, and my little sister who just said she wants kids soon. I like the idea of a family, but unlike most of society, I want to live more of my life with my partner and travel (I'm 28), and see where I'm out about it down the line. Just wondering what your experience was or if you always knew you didn't want kids. I'm sensitive and overthink in general but any tips would be awesome.
I hear you.. For me personally, I’ve known for 10 years with absolute certainty that I don’t want children, and in all the years prior to that it was never something I fantasized about. My sister only recently became a mother last year, and while I was thrilled for her it did not evoke any kind of pressure or doubt in me. I adore my nephew and love being his auntie, but still have no desire to have any kids of my own. I love my sister but we are very very different, and on our own unique paths in life. And this is wonderful. Hope this helps 💜
How would you navigate weight fluctuations and clothing? I have a few pieces that are 1 size bigger that I keep in a bin. I have a history of weight loss/gain but have maintained my current weight for 9 months.
That can be a tricky one, but for me because I eat consistently healthy and have regular movement my weight really doesn’t fluctuate (except for very small and normal amounts in accordance with my cycle). I think focus on coming to a place of balance for your body and then keep only the clothes that fit this balance 💜
I think that you shouldn't throw away in this way the objects that you have owned and that have helped you in the past, the philosophy of minimalism says that you should instead have respect and thank them individually before throwing them away or donating them.
The philosophy of minimalism also says to let go of what is no longer serving you. I am donating these items to young swimmers at the club where they will be of use. Just because I am letting go of items that I don’t use anymore doesn’t mean at all that I don’t have reverence for my past experiences. The love and memories are in my heart- not in objects.

I'm so happy for you and I can't wait to see the new place❤
Thank you Melanie!! 😊💕
Minimalism helps you to confront any and all attachments, no more trauma bonding ;)
Yes 🔥🔥
Great video! My husband and I live in a tiny house and often eat off of our wooden cutting board. It works great for hummus veggie meals, avocado toast, and fruit nut platters.
Awesome! Love hearing that. Don’t know why it took me this long to figure it out haha
I've been enjoying your videos. I'm turning 40 this year too! It's a very transitional and exciting time :)
Happy 40th my friend!! 🌟💚🌟
You are such an inspiration and each video encourages me to push my minimalism limits and evaluate my needs.
Congrats on finding a new place! I bet that is a huge weight lifted off your shoulders! 💗 Can’t wait to see it!
Thank you so much Lauren- I’m glad you are finding some fuel here 🔥🔥 Yes I am relieved and excited- packing and tour vids on the horizon 😎
Very inspiring video.
I hope your move goes well and your new space is reinvigorating for you. I’m looking forward to your packing and home tour videos.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻✨🦋🩵
You letting go of the swimming stuff is thought-provoking for me, and I'm curious now what it would feel like to consider giving my dance stuff away (if I take another dance class, I don't think I'll need ballet-specific dance clothes). Also, regarding the dishes: a friend of mine said that in Indigenous culture when they got together to eat, everyone would bring their own bowl and utensils. So if you have people over, you can ask them to bring their own bowls.
Ah that’s cool thank you for sharing! And yes let me know if you decide to let go of your dance stuff… 💖🌸
I related to Samurai Matcha's video on the weight of things too:-) Your videos are inspiring. Happy lightweight move!
He’s so adorable 💜💜 And thank you!!
So excited for you Alicia! I've moved 17 times in the last 30 years!😂 I love a new adventure! ✨️ 😌
Sending all the positive vibes your way for your new beginning ✨️ 💛 🙏
Can't wait for the home tour!
P.s - I can't make soup either! 🫣😂
Haha team canned soup for the win! 😄😄 And thank you so much for the well wishes! I agree new adventures are the best! 🌟🌟
Good luck with the move! Well done on the decluttering and talking about the thought process behind them :)
Thank you my friend 🩵🩵
I hardcore love that you refer to your dishes as Noah’s Ark. I love the idea of just using a bowl…funny enough my husband loves pasta bowls vs plates. I say do what works for you! Love this video and can’t wait to see all the moving stuff and new apartment!
Thank you! And yes it tastes better out of a bowl 😄
Excited to see your new place!
Thank you Deirdra! 💜💜
Glad you are finding inspiration here- and thank you for being part of the family here, my minimal friend from down under ;) 🩷
I eat out of one wooden bowl too. I do make soup and have one glass bowl as well. For something like avocado toast, a small cutting board works fine.
Love hearing this. I’m sure this brings you much serenity and joy 💖
I've never thought a cutting board can be used as a plate....genius!!! 💡
So funny how we build these restrictions in our minds based on little societal rules..
it works really well as a fruit platter!
@extrememinimalism Yes!! 🍎🍉🍇🥭🍓
As always great! ❤😊 Inspired to declutter in my kitchen now. Moved in beginning of april for the 6 time in 2 years so have decluttered a lot. So excited to see your new place. 🤗🥰
Thank you Elisabeth! And happy decluttering! 🌟🌟
Looking forward to your future “moving” content.
Coming soon 😎🩷
I’m so excited for you, and I love samurai matcha! He’s so cute! I wish I could get down to the bare minimum in kitchen stuff but my husband hoards kitchen stuff and would be pretty annoyed if I started decluttering!
lol well if he’s a good cook then it’s a fair trade off 😅 And thank you so much 💜💜
It tickled me to watch the video and read through all of the lovely comments. 😂
Hahaha thank you my friend 😉✨
Thank you so much my friend. Yes so many loads of “shoulds” we can release.. 🪽
I love your serene presence and your message. I mirror you in many ways and relate to and get your beliefs so much. Have a fab day ❤🇦🇺
PS So happy you’ve discovered Samurai Matcha ❤
Thank you so much my friend ✨💚✨
So inspired again after seeing this video of yours... Thank you!
You are welcome 💜🌸
Awesome video! Just saying my significant other and I share the same bowl, I think your wooden bowl is perfect for two.💕
9:49 just make me chuckle out loud, it can apply to lots of things we don't feel like effing doing after all!
Hahah yup! So many “shoulds” we throw on ourselves and all the stupid guilt that comes with that… 🤪
Omgosh, the soup thing hit home for me. I, too, thought I would learn to make soup and I never did. The funny thing is that I eat soup so very infrequently that it made no sense to keep my big pot either😅😅😅
lol it’s funny the blockages we create for ourselves 🤪
Congratulation! I'm so happy of you that you found your sanctuary, new beginning💖💖💖. I don't know how to make soup either..lol..I eat the same food everyday and I love it.💖💖
Thank you so much I appreciate these well wishes 🙏🏻🩷💕 And lol glad to hear I’m not the only one 🤣
You are my biggest inspiration ❤❤❤ I try to incorporate as much minimalism as possible (living with a non minimalist and 2 cats😂). Your content is always very refreshing
Thank you so much Sandy I truly appreciate this reflection 🙏🏻💜 PS tell your cats I say hi 😄🩷
A Bowl and cutting board plate love it. If only they could be combined as one.
They are mates lol 🩷🩷
I’m moving within a week too🙏btw, I tried booda butter. I tried the deodorant and it’s a total delight and smells like fresh coconut cream. I have tried cream pot deodorants before and found them to be unusable. This one I actually am excited to use❤️ because of the scent and easy application and bonus I get a nice little glass jar to upcycle🙏
Awesome! Yes they are such a great company.. And good luck in your move! 💜💜
loved it!
Lamp and bodum out! While watching!! 🤩
Get it girl 🔥🔥
Yes! Spartan lifestyle- I use this term too as it resonates deeply with me. Thank you so much for the well wishes 🙏🏻🌿
If and when you meet Mr. Right (as you mentioned in the video lol), I’m sure he will have a similar minimalist mindset/lifestyle as you and will admire your minimalist practise. 🙌
Thank you I think so too 🙏🏻✨💖
Wellp, I'm not going to have plates!!
I am in my 60s i dont know how to make soup
😂😂🩷
Inspiring video!
Thank you 🌷
I drank classical coffee before few days and I felt loss of energy and pain in head… I guess I have intolerance to coffee.
Moving two weeks before your birthday - woo-hoo!!! Are you a Gemini? ☺️ Good luck with the move!! Great video. 🙌🩷
Thank you! And yes I’m a Gemini 🥳😎
I was thinking you can use your wooden board for avo toast or anything else that would need a flat surface I even do that sometimes just to not make extra dishes
Yup I already do that ;)
ps: I can make soup BUT I make you make a better cocktail than I ever have! 🤗
😄😄
You look great 😊
Thank you Felix 💜💜
You focus on yourself and your needs. I like that a lot. A simple life if a good life. Simple is strong...... By the way. You are a kind of the female version of Tyler Durden from the movie Fight Club :-)
That is an epic compliment- I will take it 😁 Love that movie so much🔥🔥Thank you my friend 🙏🏻
@@Exploravore thank you for your advice! I think you are spot on!❤️
I so get you :)
Where did you get your bowl? I saw one like it at Target.
That’s the one!
@@Exploravore thank you so much, I plan to buy one soon. It’s been so long since I bought anything except food 😂
love this the ego got decluttered ?! i need to do that
Hah it’s a stubborn one- requires continual decluttering lol
❤
❤❤
I don't know how to make soup either. :]
High five for canned soup!! 🙌🏻✨😄
I hope you're still able to be near the ocean? 🐬🌊
Update coming soon 🩷🩷
Love you ❤
Awe love you too my friend ☺️💕
I’m a crappy cook too. My 21 year old son’s girlfriend cooks better than me 😅
Hahahah we can’t be good at everything 😁
I think that you shouldn't throw away in this way the objects that you have owned and that have helped you in the past, the philosophy of minimalism says that you should instead have respect and thank them individually before throwing them away or donating them.
The philosophy of minimalism also says to let go of what is no longer serving you. I am donating these items to young swimmers at the club where they will be of use. Just because I am letting go of items that I don’t use anymore doesn’t mean at all that I don’t have reverence for my past experiences. The love and memories are in my heart- not in objects.
Marie Kondo says that. She’s not a minimalist nor does she speak for everyone. 😂
It's ok if you don't know how to make soup :) :)
Hehe thank you
What about your bed?
Bed update coming soon ;)
