my father comes from Solo, he always tell about that big sugar factory field and the place where he used to play. btw you are in one of city that probally have most polite language in Javanese. even Indonesian called "Putri SOLO/ Princess of solo" if we met a girl who have nice, calm, polite, smile and good attitude. btw your lovely mother suited very well in kebaya and sanggul. she is proud and happy have a son like you. Many important people in Indonesia come from Solo and many Java City. not sure why, maybe because they are too nice and be grateful.

I felt personally connected to this video as an American with Dutch relatives. My grand-uncle was born in Java and, according to family history, was the only surviving member of his family after being liberated from an imperial Japanese POW camp. Afterwards, he met my grand-aunt on his way through the states during his return journey to the Netherlands. This history of this side of family is something I have been trying to find context and records of. Have you found any organizations that help with this Chai?
