What does KT Racing need to do to save Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown?

- I've spoken about the good, bad and the ugly of TDU:SC on this channel already, but in this video I thought I'd express what, in my opinion, KT Racing need to do to save this game from.. well to be honest complete failure.
Although I think it's a good game, branding it a Test Drive Unlimited game... they may have shot themselves in the foot unless they can make it one.
Let me know if you guys agree/ disagree!
This game is DOA. Like you said, it's not a TDU game - it's just a shitty Forza Horizon clone but worse in every way.
Unfortunately the way it is at the moment the majority probably agree with you. At the moment it’s watering down the TDU name, even though it’s a decent racing game we have so many of those to choose from already
If this game turns out to be, just another cash grab, I will never buy a KT Racing game again.😢
their wrc series games were lackluster in my experience, so this launch wasn't a surprise for me as they are a small studio with a big vision yet can't achieve anything that is actually impressive.
@@tawfeeqsh I haven't got a chance to try it yet but they did just do maintenance on the server's. I guess that shows they are trying 🎉🎉🎉
The sad part is that CarX Street managed to make a better version of Test Drive Unlimited than the actual Test Drive Unlimited.
The only way they can save this game is to either add everything from TDU1/2 into this game or add everything in this game into TDU1/2. They just didn't understand the assignment. It is like your boss saying "Go buy Mortal Kombat for PS5 from Best Buy" and they went and bought Tekken for PS4 instead. Yeah, this works, it is a racing game, it does have exploration, but it was not what was asked for, on almost all parts.
The sad part is that it looks like they improved what we actually wanted, which was the handling/driving/physics, so it looks like a pretty good driving game but I can drive around in Forza Horizon or anything else for that matter. HOUSES! DEALERSHIPS (REAL ONES!!!) LIFESTYLE! How did they not understand that they literally could have remastered TDU2 with new graphics and added Hong Kong as DLC for it and everyone would have praised the heck out of this?
Spot on imo. If a game who didn’t even get licensing did a better job than the guys who are using the TDU name there must be something wrong.

I agree except for your point about CarX Street being a better TDU game than TDUSC. I really don't see where you're going from, since CarX Street has no defining TDU features. TDUSC may be lacking, but it still has some TDU features.
Bang on analysis. In particular your points about selling cars and the immersion of weighing up buying decisions and making the car ownership experience more meaningful is spot on. It's much more than just being able to refund accidental purchases. Reminds me of Shmee150 and how he sells some cars and keeps others in order to build his collection and how it tells a story over time.
Thank you! Exactly that, I chop and change my cars all the time and that oh if I chop in this car and put X amount of my own money I can get this car and it creates a staircase for the cars you really want..
Just kinda dumbfounded you can’t sell cars surely they must have thought about it and actively decided not too haha
You mention the majority of the things they need to add (or fix) but I want to add some extras like no crossplay in 2024 it's ridiculous, region locked for some reason why? In motorfest I can play in any server I want ( I play very late and there are not many ppl on my server I can hope in the American with no problem), also you mention the small car number but the main problem that cussed by that is the bad economy of the game, all the cars are extremely expensive and the same time you make very little from the races ( the game requires extreme imo grind) this may be perfect for players that only play this game or no lifers but is a turn off for casuals and you need the casuals for a mainstream success
i just saw a review of the original games and its crazy what they made back then.... this honestly should of been like a 10 to 20 dollar game max
They need to do wat forza does add difficulty settings and put it into the race bonus settings

I completely forgot about that. But you're right. They advertised the casino right from the start. I think even before the first trailer in a few screenshots. So you could practically call it a false advertising. Although I have to say that of all the missing TDU features, I don't really care about the casino. I personally don't need it.

I used to play test drive long time ago and I loved it for reason that there was nothing really similar. Now there is forza horizon and crew and you can get them cheaper and they are better in any way. As for aspect on property’s and life sim there is not enough of this feature. As I know you can walk around only at specific places same you can do in crew. Basically I don’t think tdu solar crown have been improved and competition is still offering more for cheaper even when solar crown was released only recently! Waste of potential in my opinion.

With the always online requirement, i was expecting freeride lobbies to be up to 32 players. Its still only 8 and i haven't seen anyone else in free roam. Wtf

I really hope so but they're not well known for doing updates. KT racing leaves a lot of games unfinished. Example Isle of Man TT and Rims Racing 🎉🎉🎉
A massive car dump they need to add like fucking 200-300 more cars at least example Bmw m5/3 Supra lancer pagani like wtf

- make much and much better optimisation
- add vr mod 😄
VR would be sick! Any excuse to bang out the old VR headset would be unreal
@@zeunderagedtrucker would be amazing to see open world racing in virtual reality for first time, nobody has done this before
that's can be good unique feature against forza, nfs and crew
@@Playr0ne I’d say closest is probably Euro Truck Sim (with some car mods) or assetto corsa with a modded map but other than that yeah a dedicated game with proper VR support would go hard

The city racing is garbage remove the city racing and change up the hotel spawn it's trash
What they need to work on: servers working fine, graphics patch for daytime, especially on consoles (nighttime is where this engine shines) and much better optimization. The rest is coming sooner of later
Agreed. It’s just a case of how soon they’ll bring everything in that will be the determining factor for the game’s longevity (please do it fast!!!) 😂😂
