That is one supremely cool rover. I'd be cool with the driving footage being at 10x speed, and then maybe post the normal footage as a separate video for the people who want that kind of thing.
You know I've actually been thinking, with how you've designed your ship, you'll need to always keep the front facing the enemy, but your main turret will be blocked by your bridge making it useless for most fights. You will need to redesign your ship, or just not have access to a large portion of your fire power. You know something you could do is research battleship armor theory, displacement is pretty important for battleships so they had to put armor plating only where it was important. Of course having the entire ship have 30 inches of steel is great, But it's going to sink to the bottom of the sea instantly. If you want your main battery to be at the back you could redesign the armor to be on the sides instead of the front. But I'm assuming you are tired of rebuilding your Rover, and giving your sides to the enemy would put your wheels and suspension at risk. Food for thought.
Honestly I don’t mind if I would have to build this rover 100times over, allot of the fun I get out of this game is to design stuff then redesign it better and better. The main reason I’m happy with the main turret being at the back of the rover is it’s not really designed to be a battle ship but more a exploration vehicle with heavy weaponry. The other reason is the big turret will be mainly used to shoot the ships out of the sky rather then shoot ground targets. If worst comes to worst’s I can just use it how battleships and boats fight each other, circle the enemy and broadside. It’s also worth saying I have removed allot of armour from the rover. It basically just has a 1 block thick heavy armour shell, then light armour and interior walls for the rest of it
In almost 60 years on this earth. One thing I am certain of. Creativity, the "Artsy" talent, CAN NOT be taught. You are either born with it or not. Now if you are born with it. There are schools to :hone" that skill, refine it. But for people like me, I could never create like this man. I sure wish I could. I keep watching creators make things in SE. Sure i learn some tips on what works and what does not, but I still can not compare.
For sure do some more cinamatics!! Hear me out. Maybe install the random junk spawning mod. Put some more life into the travles of pertams. Other then that i love watching the wheels move in the wave over the hills.
One thing you could automate is suspension. Have sensor that detects ground when it's very near to hull and it will increase suspension and timer that would lower suspension 😊 Ps when going downhill go reverse so you can use thrusters to slow down! 😅
It’s an option but with this type of suspension as long as the front arm is a bit stiffer then all others it stops the nose from digging into the ground. I could go backwards for steep hills however it would take a while to turn around lol
Have you considered adding emergency breaking thrusters? It could be useful if you don't notice a canyon or are going down a steep cliff. I really like the look of you front so it would be a little sad, but it's better than potentially loosing the entire rover, or the front end at least. They would also be vulnerable. You Rover looks more like a no retreat charge the enemy kinda vehicle, with all the armor and guns at the front.
Yea, I have considered it however trying to slow 15million kg of weight driving at 20 - 30m/s isn’t easy and it would take quite a few thrusters or in other works quite allot of power
Hey bud, i was thinking about the event controller and your boost thrust, as you need it for going up hills is there a setting that would let you turn on the boost when you get to a certain angle?? If so it might be worth setting that up. Those supply bases can have Factorum tech bits in them. Very handy if you want to build any of the new blocks. I made it to that point in the video, and i think the only thing i need, and it is need, is for you to paint the 7 wheels on the right hand side of the rover, LOL. Its really bugging me now, LOL
The only thing I can think of is having a free floating unpowered hinge. Having the event controller monitor it's angle and engage the thrusters accordingly. Cant say I've ever tried it in game, but that's how I'd start? 😅
@@mrmcscuseme I was thinking more about monitoring the cockpit level. so if the cockpit/control seat starts to point up, the boost comes on. But same for me, never tried it. I have barely looked at the event controller to be honest, i use it for parking my ship and doors closing on the base. LOL
@cabbageplays6710 Yeah same. I was thinking since the EC can monitor the hinges angle, when you pull up the hinges should rotate to align with gravity maybe and then that might work. I hate that the EC only can monitor if the cockpit is occupied or not.
@@mrmcscuseme But we know the game monitors which way the cockpit is facing, otherwise the thrusters wouldn't get set up right in the first place. So it could be added in if Keen wanted too.
Hi @Chief. Just thought of "Why not use Event Controlers to enhance the suspension?". When the suspension compress and hinge of that suspension pass certain degree (EC should have possibility to monitor Hinge degree but I havent played with it yet) -> increase/decrease torque value on suspension hinge group. That should give you better driving experience :)

Yea I could do something like that, I’m thinking I definitely should do some shorts of it so…

Honestly great realisation and ideas, simplest idea is swap the turret and main gun spot, possibly put it/a second in on top of the bridge

Yea definitely an option, I would just have to make sure it wouldn’t lag the game
I would like to see you do an equally massive ship that uses only vector thrust!
So your saying make the phoenix fly….
That music in the last 15 minutes nearly had me going to sleep mate, along with your sultry voice lol😂
I may or may not have done that on purpose

Such an amazing creation, keep on keeping on :)
Thank you! Will do!

Yes.I'm still hanging in there, but your music is so soothing. You keep putting me to sleep.
Maybe some more upbeat music
hmmm, or maybe that was my plan

I’ve considered using event controllers to automate allot of the driving systems however I do quite enjoy being able to control everything manually
super 👍👍👍🚚

Yea I’ve had allot of people ask me that sort of think, in short I just like the manual control aspect, I’ll talk about it more in my next video
I would like more driving. The suspension works really well and i like seeing it but the music is just too loud
You will like the next video then :)
@quantumchief looking forward to it. The rover is looking sick man. Love the how everything works with it.
"Little Phoenix"? Lol if thats little, whats your definition of Large? Lol asking for a friend
It’s not that big it’s just a baby, wait until you see the mother
@quantumchief next episode? Lol
