1. Don’t throw your wet clothes in the hamper - instead let them dry inside out on a flat surface, over tub, or over door knob
2. Use an odor eliminating spray - stretch out the items inside out and squirt areas that are most prone to the odor
3. Use a sports detergent
4. Wash your clothing in cold water and then dry in low heat setting - heat bakes in stinky bacteria and odor
5. DO NOT use fabric softener or dryer sheets on workout clothing (performance garments) - a film gets on the fibers and prevents the detergents from cleaning properly

Hi Aaron! I just wanted to tell you how much this video helped me! I have a story... so I went in to my grade 11 second semester with a problem I didn’t even know I had! I smelled really bad! But it wasn’t because I wasn’t hygienic, I even tried showered 3x per day and changed my clothes 6x throughout the day because I just hated smelling, but all of this did nothing at all. I tried spraying my clothes with cologne ( way too much) I tried putting little cotton balls covered in essential oils in my dresser, nothing. I couldn’t handle it, I contemplated suicide so many times, every time I’d walk into a room I’d here everyone say “ what’s that smell??” And “ it smells like sh*t!” And I’d see them cover their noses, I even had people come up to me and tell me I smelled like poop. I had no clue what was going on and I would break down crying every night with no one to talk to. I had terrible anxiety and I couldn’t walk into a room without fearing the worst. One night I came across this video, and everything changed, I had an idea! I looked for hero clean at my Walmart, I had all my money that I owned ( about $30) and I thought that it was finally over. But I couldn’t find it, so I tried something else, I saw febreze fabric in the isle I was looking at, so, I grabbed it. And for the first time in almost a year, I walked into a room, and nobody thought I smelled. I couldn’t believe it. Aron, I didn’t use hero clean. Bro, you made me cry. I'm 20 now, and just like you I always had a problem with odor. Just today at work, 2 people stopped me and told me about bathing and wearing deodorant. I was so embarrassed and shocked because I thought I smelt okay. Plus one of the two told me that that wasn't the first time and that a lot of people smelt it and didn't tell me for a long time. Good tips. I may check out Hero Wash, as we use a different sport wash. However, there are easier ways if you want to do it on the cheap. Here are some other tips:
1) Instead of sport wash, put a cup of white vinegar in with a small amount of regular detergent (ideally a free and clear version). The vinegar helps to get rid of the odors and kill bacteria.
2) Make sure to clean your washing machine monthly. Run a hot cycle with a cup or two of bleach. If your washing machine stinks, your clothes likely will too. As an added tip, leave the door of your washing machine open between washes. Prevents mildew and odors.
3) Fabric softener is definitely a no-no, but Trader Joe's sells lavender dryer packets which give clothes a fresh scent without chemicals. We are big fans. Works well with all clothes, and is also great for pet blankets/bedding.
4) As an add on to letting clothes dry before putting them in the hamper, lay they outside in the sun if possible. The UV will kill a lot of the bacteria and odor. Then wash as usual.
Doesn't look like I'm getting any of the Hero stuff. Based on Amazon reviews, all the products just mask odors with an Axe Body Spray style of scent? Gross and no thanks.

Awesome video, I could not figure out how to stop the armpits of my workout shirts from stinking. It was driving me insane because nothing bothers me more than bad odor. Have you found any tricks for preventing or removing the yellowing of the armpits of white t-shirts?

Just wash clothes in HOT water with your detergent. Add 1 cup of distilled vinegar to the load.... inexpensive and highly effective. Thank me later.... first time I I disagree!

Okay Alpha, I watch your videos on a pretty regular basis, and they actually make me feel a lot better about myself. But, I have a problem with sweating a lot, when i really shouldnt be. And when im in school, it can be really embarrassing. Plus i sweat everywhere, not just like my armpits or the usual places, so, do you have any tips to keep myself from sweating when i shouldnt be?

My problem must be the fabric softener. When I'm done with my 100 minutes of cardio I am _drenched_ so it's rather yucky but a sign of working hard. After peeling my shirt off it's sprayed (and me soiled shorts) all over with Febreze and hung near an open door to dry. Ten hours later I put it in the hamper, wash everything after a week and ... it smells like death, even clean. :(

After I take off a sweaty shirt from the gym I just put it in the Tub with some water then dry it out. I have seen good results but idk if it’s the best option.
How do you prevent a soaked and hand-washed gym shirts from smelling this weird chemical smell?
I used alumn stone wiped over my damp skin. Stops most of the bacteria from growing and I think kills/dries a lot of them.
Stops my skin from producing any real scent.
Then now my clothes don't have much of a scent after exercise too.

Any interview tips
Make sure your workout clothes are actual workout clothes and not cotton t-shirts. You can find these shirts at you local sporting goods store or online. Once you have actual workout clothes wash them every time you use them. I have shirts for over 10 years that I've sweated in for 3 hours in the summer outside and the only problem they have is they look worn out no odor though.
I noticed that the dry fit clothes are harder to wash and get the stench off than cotton clothes so I started wearing cotton

I remember the day a dude asked me to spot him on seated barbell military press. His grey shirt and grey track pants looked like he was tackled 100 times in a 1985 football game and the mud stains never came out of the fabric. This was likely the last time he showered, but that is just a hypothesis, of course. As soon as he lifted is arms and exposed the pits, I almost immediately projectile vomited while simultaneously clutching my nose and therefore letting go of the spot on his elbows. I working in a shitty warehouse all night and they never run the AC so the only way to prevent heatstroke is creatine scoops beforehand and chug water run around working very quick to get profuse sweating and air movement on my face.
