Also make sure you check out the Chomas Marker Holder. She has one for the Cameo 1, 2, 3 and another one for the Cameo 4 -- It's my favorite pen/marker holder. Here's a video of me using it in the Cameo 4 -- ruclips.net/video/KRkMezXVMxs/видео.html
I believe hte cap is also teh depth setter. you put the cap on and insert the pen until it touches the bottom of the cap. then it's set at correct depth to use.
I've never owned any kind of cutting machine before and I've found the Silhouette instructions SO vague! THANK YOU for such a helpful video!. Just one ask, please slow down when moving around the Studio window. Being a total newbie I had to rewind a few times to see where you were clicking. Otherwise an excellent video. :D
so im using the same sakura pens and ive made sure they are working but for some reason i cant get them to write. the only difference is im writing mine on black plain cardstock. why does it hate me lol. should i adjust the force or speed?
Hi! It's blue painter's tape, it's used to mask stuff off for painting. You can use Washi tape or any low tack tape that will peel off of the paper without tearing the paper. That's my affiliate link to the brand used in the video. amzn.to/2YyzLpY

Sounds like a better use of it than a cap!
Thank you for this extra tip! :D
Thanks. I was wanting to ask about depth setting.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah, it's hard to know how fast go sometimes so the video doesn't drag & get boring!! Glad it was helpful!
Can this work with the Portrait 3?
Yes, the blades for the cameo 4 work in the portrait 3 and likewise you would need to use the adapters to use the older blades.
@@MissMaryEmbroidery Thanks!
did you use fine or medium point pens?
They are called medium tip at 0.4 in size -- amzn.to/2vodzCD

If you are sure the pen is actually making contact with the paper--I would increase the force to see if that helps. I would keep the speed low.
@@MissMaryEmbroidery So it was user error for sure lol I guess I didn't warm up the pens enough before having the machine draw hahaha 🤦🏼♀️
@@solodreamy Haha!! The pens can be really tricky to get working Correctly!!
@@MissMaryEmbroidery they can but they're definitely awesome! 🥰
Please what type of tape did you used to hold down the paper to the mat. What’s the name of the tape

Miss Mary Embroidery sorry I didn’t get you. You said peel off or wouldn’t peel off is what you meant right?
@@ibrahimshaffi5759 It is a type of tape that will hold the paper, but then you can remove it (peel it off) without damaging the paper.
