Those tones sit just right in the mix, very nice!
stratorarious yes I agree 😀 thank you
So to get the highest gain Simon I’ve been using it thru a slightly crunchy amp. But if I put up the dry gain I seem to like that and I hear more gain. FYI I have the STANDARD. What else should I move up to get more gain? The mid boost little knob? I’ve yet to fool with that yet. I’ll get to it and figure it out by tomorrow. FYI Great demo as always. To the guys that think it’s too complicated. It isn’t. It’s a fairly simple learning curve. Took me a very short time to figure out how to set it. If u can handle the kemper and helix’s and axe FX this is a breeze. It’s not complicated. I’ve spent hours trying to get simple pedals to sound good with my amps that just didn’t work. And I can tell right away if it’s going to work. This works. If I can do it u can. And I bought it used and mint. Got a nice deal. It enhances your amps and even the kemper high gain profiles feel and sound better to me. I wasn’t using my kemper prior to this pedal. It’s not hard to figure out. Just read the instructions, watch a few informative videos. It’s on a lot of pros pedalboards I’ve noticed. And it seems to have stopped my pedal addiction.
Hi Robert.
If you play into a slightly crunchy amp turning up the DRY sound will give you more gain because you are driving the amp harder. This can be cool.
I prefer to set my gain with the Volume and Output knobs and I almost always have a bit of dry blended in (via the blend knob). The Volume and Output knobs react very much like a classic marshall non master volume amp and I like that. You can also check out my two dedicated Revival Drive videos for more sounds and settings. Cheers Simon
Hi, great sounds! The link to the full video doesn’t seem to be working. To understand this better your signal chain from start to end would be helpful. Also, the RD has additional settings that greatly affect the sound: what are you settings on the bright cap and shelf controls, as well as what output shaping are you using. Also, the mid boost has a frequency select as well as a gain control. What are your settings? Thanks!
Oh sorry about that link. It should be fixed now. I also have a playlist with all my Origin effects videos where I run through the signal chain, and every setting on the RD and more. Cheers Simon
Thanks for the video. Like it.
Was wondering what is the full name of your Origin Effects Overdrive?
Thanks.
Thank you Max. It is the Revival Drive. Cheers Simon
Hi Simon , thanks for this great video. One question, Is the EP booster last in chain before the amp or does it feed the Revival Drive? I know it looks like it is last on pedalboard but hard to see wiring. Thanks man!!!! Great playing!!!!!
Lou Roppoli Thank you very much. Yes on this board the ep is last in the chain. Also after delay which is a bit weird but it sounds great this way.
When I bought the ep many years ago I added it to my pedalboard after everything on a gig the same evening and it sounded awesome so I kept it this way :)
@@SimonGotthelfMusic okay that's cool I've never tried it at the end it does sound awesome thanks so much.
Hi Simon, is the EP Booster before or after the revival drive?
Harry Bee Hi Harry
Ep booster is last in the chain
Cheers Simon
What amp are you using here, Simon? Killer tones! The revival drive and Cali 76 are my go-to’s as well!
Dustin Rieseberg Thanks Dustin :) 1965 Bassman throughout the video. RD and Cali are just the best. Cheers
How do you have the front switches set?
You mean all the little controls on the front side of the pedal?
Sorry but I can’t remember anymore - It has been a long time since I made this video. I tuned the pedal in to my Bassman and komet 29 and left the controls right there…
But I have done many videos with that pedal so you might be able to catch the settings from one of the other videos
Cheers
Wow, you are the only person ive heard to be able to get good sound out of this and sounds amazing!
I think the v30 speakers are key for this to sound proper.
an it do variac'd emulations?
And is this analog? And can this stack well with other pedals in front.
Arsenal Pro Audio Thank you :) It is my favorite pedal and it sounds great through all my amps and cabs. All analog but no variac. That would be a cool feature. It stacks well and I use a booster and compressor in front of it. Cheers Simon
Have you tried the Revival with other drives (stacked gain stage sort of setup) - would you use before or after other drives? I’m usually a fan to use a few low gain drives into each other.
Whats the song of the end?
Dr. Feder a track from the beginning of my pedalboard video. If you check out the Huge pedalboard video this song kicks off the tour of my board. I always write complete tracks to start my demo videos. Cheers
