    You are correct about naming confusion. At some point I’m guessing it will be simplified when beta becomes a full release. (“In two weeks!” 😀) thank you for the clarification.

    Thanks for sharing this. I was a little consumed why I only had FSD beta on city streets & not highways 🤷🏽. What I did to not get strikes & when I knew I needed to disengage, I created another profile with both AP & FSD beta off & click on that profile while driving made it easier for me instead on going into controls etc…

    Good video…I got 3 strikes while in AP on the highway. For some reason the car kept thinking I was about to hit something and kicked me out of AP without warning and gave me strikes, so I just turned FSD beta completely off until I got home. So for me it’s been easier to get the strikes on the highway as opposed to city streets. Side note…I’ve had beta since October

    Didn’t realize we had access to toggle FSD Beta on. Had already acquired 4 strikes on AP with FSD beta off. We toggled it on and there is a small not that says “Auto pilot has been disabled four times due to improper use. FSD beta will no longer operate if auto pilot disabled 5 times.”
    We will be driving with it on FSD beta toggled on and when we get one more strike we will let you know if we lost access from the previous 4 strikes toggled off. Wish us luck. 🤞🏽

    Have been driving fsd for months with no issues, but in the last 3 days, I got 3 strikes. So I turned off the fsd. It's getting too stressful to keep checking the dash for warnings. Aren't we supposed to keep our eyes on the road ???? It causes more driving fatigue now. And yes, hands on the wheel will still get the strike.

    I got one strike on autopilot on highway. There was traffic and I was behind some trucks. The Tesla would start to pass, then stop. After a few attempts I decided to help. I hit the (gas) and zoomed to apparently over 85 mph, warning signs, lots of noise, I immediately took my foot off the power thruster but did not move the steering wheel to disengage auto pilot. The red wheel of death appeared, I moved the wheel, too late obviously, and I now have one red mark. I learned a Tesla lesson so not all bad. I clearly will watch my passing acceleration closely in the future. The car is just so quick.

    I had two force disengagements where the car did not issue any warnings i.e. no visual or audio. It just threw the takeover immediately red hands. In both cases, I was paying full attention (I wonder how well Tesla's facial recognition software is able to recognize people with darker skin tones). I only saw the red steering wheel once and i didn't think it was a problem, it literally slowly came to a stop to make a right turn, no other cars coming, on autopilot and it turned red. I just assumed it couldnt make the turn for some reason and didn't think much about it. Curious if the previous owner had strikes on the car i wasnt aware of?? You need to keep your hands on the wheel periodically not all the time. However, Tesla advises you to keep your hand on the wheel at all times as this is still in beta and it can do the wrong thing at the worst time. So for now everyone should keep their hands on the wheel at all times. Once out of beta they will leverage the internal camera (for cars that have it) as a means to monitor and you won't need to rest your hands on the wheel.

    Was hoping to have learned more on what causes a strike. Do you have a video that causes that?

    • @BlackTesla
      @BlackTesla  Год назад +1

      Not responding to visual warnings causes strikes. This includes looking away from the road, looking at your phone too long, looking at the screen too long, or just not having your hands on the wheel long enough. There are other anomalous incidents that cause strikes but they all stem from responsiveness to warnings or having the system repeatedly remind you to pay attention.

    One more question, please. If one is unwise or unfortunate enough to accumulate 5 strikes and get tossed out of the current version beta that they're in, will the next beta update let them back in? Also, I have created an alt profile in my vehicle with FSD beta turned off, for when I'm driving with the old lady who refuses to let me use beta while she's in the car. Heh. I have also not enabled beta for her profile.

    Now that NTSB is investigating the use of Auto Pilot and systems like that in other vehicles there is concern that the government may shut down its use. I suspect that is why the STRIKE system is now in place and being enforced. There are people out there that do NOT want anyone using any BETA software to control vehicles and they're pushing hard to force manufacturers to test these systems in closed environments. Of course, the problem with that are all of the edge cases that no closed test track can provide. Stopping its use on public roadways will set back development of such systems by years. IMHO

I have turned off so as to protect getting it when a new version comes out. Did you ever figure out what happens if you’re kicked out? • @BlackTesla
      @BlackTesla  Год назад +1

      As of this video there was no way to decouple autosteer from FSD Beta so it was all disabled. However the latest build allows you to use each component separately (TACC, Autosteer, and FSD Beta) so now you should still be able to use basic navigate on Autopilot if you've been suspended by FSD Beta but I haven't confirmed this.

    How can Tesla lock you out of something that you paid for? Lol, this makes no sense.
    If I pay $12k for FSD, I expect to be able to use it no matter what. Someone needs to clear this up.

    • @BlackTesla

      💯 I dony like this at all. If you pay for it you should own it and you should be able to transfer it as well. But I understand the level of scrutiny Tesla is under with this tech people at this very moment are trying to get NHTSA to shut it down. So they are being overly cautious. Sadly Tesla features like this ate perpetually in BETA as a means of legal liability. So there is no final version just a version where they will allow mass owners to enable it.

      I understand your position but I have to remind you that in its current form it is in early access beta that technically is not supposed to be accessible to the public which is why Tesla can choose who it goes to and how it works based on behavior. However since they are actively selling this feature they are forced to give it to people who bought it in its current form so hence their ability to take it away if anyone compromises the development/advancement. I know it's messed up but that's the reality, and under normal circumstances almost no customer would have access in its current form the way Tesla used to beta test their features.
