Thank you for sharing this tutorial on updating. My question is if you download from the link in the banner of Ledger Live, are you confident that this update is valid? I see that Ledger recommends that you check the download via hash and also signature. If that was the case, how would you download this update from that banner link and save it instead of installing it automatically? Also wouldn't this be hard to do on a mobile device? I am a little confused on why they want you to validate the downloads, yet doing so is literally very hard, or maybe impossible on a mobile device especially if using that banner link. I suppose you could go to their website and download it directly to save, but I was just curious on how secure that banner link was. thanks if you know, as I am seeing where some people are reporting that their ledger accounts have been hacked. But as far as why, we still do not know.
I updated twice and now got to 2.1 and when it says enter your pin to update they won’t let me adjust the pin at all I can’t change the numbers it’s stuck at 1-2-3-4/5/6-7-8. What am I supposed to do?

On my laptop Ledger Live will only open for my nano s and so I cannot update my nano x. The screen on Ledger Live for my nano s does not have the ‘My Ledger’ on the screen since it is just for my nano s. What am I missing? Can you have two different Ledger Live apps on your laptop?
I have not seen that before. If I were you, I'd remove Ledger Live on your computer and re-download the official Ledger Live from Ledger's website (JUST make sure you save your 12-24 keyword seed phrase). It may seem like an overkill suggestion, but if I were you I'd rather want to have the peace of mind that I have the REAL version of LL and not a scammer's version. You should be able to get into your S or X with the Ledger Live software. Hope that helps!
Yes check to make sure what OS version you need to have the most recent Ledger Live. My brother ran into the same issue with having an old Mac and he couldn’t update his ledger firmware without updating to the most recent supported OS on his Mac.
Yes and No... no, because not every update addresses the current crypto assets that you may be utilizing. Yes, because the update may include an update for your crypto assets and might have security updates (the most important in my opinion). Hope that helps!

Did you follow Ledger's steps for being able to do it on your Android? I haven't personally done it because I'm on Apple products but there are articles on their Blog explaining what you have to do.

my physical ledger has a version of like 1. something and now my ledger live is 2.64.1 = Up to date. I put my 24 seed word phrase in and it will not connect to my ledger live to display my assets and or update? How do I get my physical ledger to update when my ledger live is already updated?
You need to go to your "My Ledger" on the navigation menu on the left when you're in Ledger Live. Once you've put in your PIN and click the Accept, you should see a banner at the top letting you know that there's a new firmware available.
@@CryptoBlick Hello thank you very much for your prompt reply. kindly note I did click on the orange banner to update. it updated and installed and my hardware wallet keeps asking me for the pin and the 24 words and I enter it and nothing. assets still not showing up. instead of the number value, it has $**** . I am not in full panic because like you said as long as you have the 24 words. I go to my accounts type in pin then click both arrows to allow and then it even says synchronized and then I go to accounts and still shows $****. I uninstalled and reinstalled ledger live. thank you again for your help and time!

Make sure that the “eye” icon isn’t selected on your Ledger Live. That hides the dollar values as added privacy if you don’t want others to glance over at your computer or phone and see how much you own. If that’s not the problem… it’s most likely that you haven’t reinstalled your apps.
It was very helpful. I still have mine but have moved my Bitcoin to Blockstream’s Jade. The jade is the most secured wallet for Bitcoin and Liquid assets in my opinion. My ISO tokens have been moved to the Decent Biometric Wallet. Ledger only holds my Ether at this time.

You have to update the firmware either via a laptop or computer if you’re on Mac. If you have an Android, you can do it from the phone.
