I’m pretty sure cass is charmed before the game even run into her. When she springs the trap on vox machina there is a quick golden flash in her eyes when she is staring At Percy. I think she broke out of the charm seeing her brother take that hit from Sylas. The the vampire dude just recast the charm on her to keep her in line
Yeah you are totally right I had forgotten that beforehand she had been charmed throughout her time with the Briarwoods. This episode definitely shows that when the charm is recast.
They definitely seem to have set aside a nice chunk of the budget for this episode and it was worth it. I would have liked a quick shot of Grog being knocked out at the start, if you blink you miss him being hit by Delilah and you only realize halfway through the fight that you haven't seen him do anything yet. When the Orb appeared Pike also should have blinked out the same moment as the undead in the walls went limp and would have been a third point for Scanlan to reference regarding the Orbs influence. But those are minor nit-picks considering how many moving parts there were in this one.
Yeah Grog being hit Delilah is such a fast moment that I missed it even on my 2nd viewing! I get they wanted to drama of Pike about to heal Kiki and its worth it but yeah once the orb appeared she should have been immediately zapped out. The cliff hanger moment tho is worth the slight inconsistency
one of the GREATEST animated battles of all time
Seriously I cannot wait to see what S2 brings!
