Reminds me of Joni Mitchell's song: Take Paradise and make a parking lot ! That is exactly what has happened to Mauritius. I have no idea where you started and ended your drive. My last visit was in 2006: big changes in that time.

So much have change since I left Mauritius 27 years ago. Glad to see Mauritius developing in the right direction. I will get loss driving without a GPS next time I'm back on the island with all these new roads. How's the GPS accuracy and service in Mauritius?
It is mostly good, but they still haven't got the new roads

If you kept driving forward there are further new buildings in construction next to the filling station
Behind which there's gonna be the Ebene tramway station with probably an underground passageway making the connection for pedestrians

@@BryanDiscoversWorld The tram shall cross Ebene across the Cyber Village from the Ebene Recreational park then the view shall be the most stunning for it will cut across pristine MSIRI land, then the banks of a GRNW tributary then the agricultural UoM land... it'll be a genuine dépaysement (radical change of scenery). You should visit the MSIRI réduit there are coffee fields, orchards, nurseries, a herbarium, etc. You should also check out the forestry tracks: Black River Gorge, Pétrin, Machabé, Le Souffleur, etc.
Belle Rose is near Rose Hill.. My college town 30 years ago.

How far do you have to drive from the airport to MacDonalds, Pizza Hut, Domino's and Kentucky Fried Chicken shops? Are there signs?
About 10 km, but once you are in the zone there are hundreds of them
