Mine are in their late 20s and early 30s. It is bittersweet, but grandkids help. I had to keep telling myself that my purpose is to raise productive adults. It wasn't to keep them babies no matter how much I wanted to. It is hard, but watching them come into their own is a great thing, too.
I miss those baby days! My youngest of our 7 is almost 13 but we now have 2 grandbabies! You are right it does help and reminding that watching our children grow into productive adults is such a a sweet blessing

He was such a giver And he had a little African heritage. Children leaving home is hard and we cried every time one of them left. Thankfully they all serve the Lord. My oldest daughter and her husband pastor a church and two of their girls are in missions. We’re blessed.

They are not leaving though, just as you didn't leave your parents. They are just on their next leg of their journey. They were raised with love, strong values and morals. It is their time to venture, but they always return!
Sarah my 4 daughters started college last fall and although they are only 40 mins away it is still so hard and we dont see them every weekend. My son is in high-school and he is the only one still at home. I don't think it gets easier you just learn to adapt. The goal is to raise them up right and send them off even though your mama heart hurts. Hang in there, you got this!🤗

My Pastors wife told me a long time ago when I was worried about nieces and nephews...she said " oh Sugar...( her love language) don't you know that Holy Spirit is the best babysitter?!" I am full of emotions . We also have our youngest still at home and about to enter high school . It’s a different season the season that a lot of parents don’t like to talk about . I am praying for you as the older kids begin taking flight! My husband and I went through our four kids leaving the nest. It was hard on us, but they were ready and excited. We are now in our 70’s and all four kids, their spouses and our 11 grandkids are and continue to be our dearest friends! They all live in the USA. My husband and I are missionaries in Brazil, South America.

Happy Birthday Solo! Sarah and Solo, are you going to have a basement in the new home? Awww, that was so sweet listening to the kids sing Happy Birthday to their Dad. I know that had to make Solo so proud. It will be ok Sarah! I only have 4 and they are all grown with families of their own. The nice thing about that though is, I can love even harder on my grandchildren. My oldest grandson is 30, but I love on him just as much as when he was a baby.
It will get easier Sarah! At least you still have other children in the house. I only have two and when the second one left it was hard but a month later my husband and I really started enjoying the empty nest. We now have grands that visit. Life really changes fast but I will say embrace it.

He will be 13 this year and every big milestone he reaches in his life is so bittersweet. I cannot imagine what it will be like when he is grown and out on his own. I know that is what is intended, for us to teach and guide them into adulthood but man does it break my heart! 💕

I have 10 kids, and my 2nd oldest (21 years old) has been gone for almost 4 years. He joined the Air Force immediately after we graduated him, and his first placement was Germany! Needless to say, the transition was rough!! My mama heart still hurts from missing him so much, but of course, we are beyond proud! Big hugs to you. It will get easier overtime.
Happy Birthday Solo. You will be ok with life changes, but it is hard saying goodbye to your beautiful Belle. My life change 11 years ago with a separation then followed a divorce. I had to learn to navigate being a single mum to 10 year old twins, this was certainly not the way I thought my life would turn out. As I sit and watch this vlog my twins who are now 21 are attending their dad’s wedding. And it hit me today that my boys will now part of a step family. So much they have had to deal with in their life.
Each one of your children is a part of your life. And they are great kids!!! Because you and Solo invested a Godly life and so much love into each of them.

It is definitely different not having our big kid around, but I remind myself that THIS is what I raised her for, not to stay at home and never leave. So this is a blessing, not the other way around. Our adopted and biological children came to us after a long while into our marriage, so I already feel super mindful and grateful. But, having one leave home definitely makes me even more mindful to appreciate the time I have withy younger kiddos. Hugs to you!
I truly believe families were designed to stay close. Cousins play together, siblings are closest friends, all worship together and everyone can help everyone. Gkids need their gparents and aunties and uncles close by! (My older kids don’t live by me 😢)

I'm 73 and I've watched by children grow up and leave home and then ¹watch my grandchildren grow up and now I'm watching my great-grandchildren growing up my oldest great-grandchildren is only 5 so I'll have a while to go before she leaves home. Cowpatties you can leave the grass will grow, you can always use to a spreader with, use them to burn for a fireplace or wood stove to supplement your wood supply, use them in your compost pile for next year's garden.

My youngest child lives in Australia! We live outside of Boston. Life changes, seasons come and go. You will be fine through the grace of God. I speak from experience!
I have 10 kids, and my 2nd oldest (21 years old) has been gone for almost 4 years. He joined the Air Force immediately after we graduated him, and his first placement was Germany! Needless to say, the transition was rough!! My mama heart still hurts from missing him so much, but of course, we are beyond proud! Big hugs to you. It will get easier overtime.

My life change 11 years ago with a separation then followed a divorce. I had to learn to navigate being a single mum to 10 year old twins, this was certainly not the way I thought my life would turn out. As I sit and watch this vlog my twins who are now 21 are attending their dad’s wedding. And it hit me today that my boys will now
part of a step family. So much they have had to deal with in their life.
It's going to be okay! I keep telling myself that, too. My oldest, my 18 year old daughter, is moving next month. It's definitely not easy!❤❤❤

Birthday and holidays have changed when loved ones can't all be together.But we are so fortunate with all todays technology to be able to connect easily. I will miss seeing Belle all the time, but then Judah will be home. Enjoy these moments together.
It is definitely different not having our big kid around, but I remind myself that THIS is what I raised her for, not to stay at home and never leave. So this is a blessing, not the other way around. Our adopted and biological children came to us after a long while into our marriage, so I already feel super mindful and grateful. But, having one leave home definitely makes me even more mindful to appreciate the time I have withy younger kiddos. Hugs to you!
I truly believe families were designed to stay close. Cousins play together, siblings are closest friends, all worship together and everyone can help everyone.

I'm 73 and I've watched by children grow up and leave home and then ¹watch my grandchildren grow up and now I'm watching my great-grandchildren growing up my oldest great-grandchildren is only 5 so I'll have a while to go before she leaves home.
