I just cannot see the point in shooting gun up. Skeet was devised to improve gun mount, foot work etc. and a social get together for upland game hunters. I used to enjoy it at my gun club when I lived in the country. Not now, when I front up with a side by side and shoot gun down (Churchill style) l have all these experts sniggering or advising me to get an under over, shoot gun up. No longer enjoyable so I don’t bother.
Drone fair enough mate but I just find here that too many people cannot just shoot skeet socially. It’s all about the maximum straight kills (what we call here shooting for sheep stations, the equivalent of your shooting to win a cattle ranch) Skeet is the ultimate form of practice for the all important foot work and gun mount practice and improvement so vital for bird shooting. What we need here is more shooting facilities where people can relax, improve and enjoy themselves. Sadly Australia is so anti gun it is nigh impossible to get planning permission to build a facility. A far cry from when I was young, almost every town had a Commonwealth full bore service rifle range and it was expected that from 14 years or so young boys become proficient with the 303 SMLE. We were the top Queens prize nation in the British Commonwealth. Now we seem to be a nation of queens.
You can shoot any way you want. Most people are just looking to get the highest score possible and will do anything to do that. Especially Trap shooters. They buy purpose specific guns that can't be used for anything else. I shoot skeet with a Browning BPS. Super fun. Sometimes we do everything doubles. Sometimes we do all the doubles reversed. Whatever. Unless it's an organized contest, who cares.
Shot my best doubles score as a rookie with your gun. (96). Won't ever forget it....
It’s called a shot process. Applies to precision rifle, precision pistol, and shotgun. Shot process has a specific language.
Choke? Shells? Shots size? Do you switch it around per station?

Just remember Robert, that skeet is for people that can't shoot sporting!
