    • @tylersirko5959
      @tylersirko5959  Год назад +4

      We were one of the first flights to do integrated flights. We lived in seperate dorms, but when we formed up in the morning it was males and females. I think it's good because you work with women a lot in the actual air force. It wasn't the best when everyone had a crush on someone tho. Took away from training at times

    • @AirForceKrissy
      @AirForceKrissy 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@tylersirko5959 Thus why integrated flights are nonsense. Young kid "crush" BS taking away from training time as you said. Also, who cares if you work with females in the actual air force? Doesn't mean you need to train with them in integrated flights. You work with females in the corporate or civilian government and you don't need to "train" with them ahead of time.

      Don't let it stop you! I had someone in my flight in bmt, he couldn't do a pushup before he went to meps. His roomate at the hotel literally convinced him to try to do one and it was hard for him. He still graduated bmt in the end. I couldn't do a pull-up before I talked to my recruiter, but before I shipped off to BMT I was able to do 12 in a row because I worked on it. If weight is an issue, that can be hard and annoying to work with. I was actually underweight so I had to eat more before I joined. Never forget what the military can do for you. I have gotten to travel and see more in these past few months than I ever did in the 21 years I had before I joined. I had a shit GPA in highschool, and now I could get an education whenever I wanted. You can find your dream job in the military. If not the air force, then the army or somewhere man. Don't let your body get in the way until you talk to a recruiter. You never know, they might just take you as is

    How many older guys did you have? I'm 31 and on the verge of going for it, talked to recruiters and everything, just need to take the leap. 90% of what's worrying me is being 10 years older than everyone else lmao. Not worried about the fitness at all, just the social awkwardness of it

    • @tylersirko5959
      @tylersirko5959  3 месяца назад

      @drumline17 on my flight we had two people on the older side of things. Both were older than our MTIs, which was weird, but surprisingly common. Every flight had at least one guy who joined when he was older. Some things to keep in mind: you don't get your first paycheck until a few weeks of you being there, so make sure that your family has enough money to last them (if you have those kinds of responsibilities). Other than that I say go for it if you're interested in it. The older guys we did have faired a lot better than the guys who came straight outta highschool. You'll be surprised how quickly you can catch up to the guys who did make rank young. Other than that, don't worry about social awkwardness in basic due to age. Basic is short and having that mature person there can really help a bmt flight soar, and after that you'll have plenty opportunity to hang out with that crowd of older military folk who joined a bit later in life. Just stay wise in tech school. Don't get caught giving alcohol to underage people or anything like that, don't get too wrapped up in crazy young people drama (you will be spending a lot of time with 19 yr olds).

      A lot of the yelling wasn't shown on video. We had people who get yelled at by two MTIs at the same time, and all that stuff. That don't cuss you out or anything like that tho if that's an issue for you as well

      This was filmed near the end of 2022. as far as I'm tracking, we were the last flight to wear masks for any portion of training
