Hi Ben! I believe every tool restoration enthusiast should restore at least one Ridgid Wrench. They are such fantastic tools that are made to last a lifetime. Great job!
Great Job! Your caption about "Lowes on sale" orange reminded me of a town on Long Island when I was a kid. Houses were purple with green shudders....orange with pink shudders....neon green with fire engine red shudders....well you get the idea. It wasn't on victorian style cottages....we used to call the town Sears-on-Sale !! Lowes didn't exist back then! Anyway...your wrenches look fine!!! Thanks, Ben!
They look great. The orange looks good. I have seen the pipe wrenches in Red, Black, and Orange. When I worked at the golf course doing irrigation I would paint my pipe wrenches Torquiose ~ each one of us had our own color ~ I found the color in the back of the paint cabinet. Non the less - great job on the wrenches! 👍
Well done, Ben. Those turned out great! It is a big accomplishment to finish up projects that we procrastinate on. They only take a few hours and a bunch of months to get them done.
Gooder'n new. I used to have a 2 foot aluminum but someone assisted it wherever they were and I now have a grungy 12 incher BUT it can do as much as the big one with the aid of a 3 foot pipe. Always an answer. Thanks and GBWYall!
You have the most "REAL" videos!! The more you do, the more you can do. I have alot of experience with plumbing tool repairs as I have been a plumber for 30+ years. I have seen user wrenches with all sorts of pins holding the jaw in place. I now just go with a roll pin when I need to repair a user wrench. ( you can find assortments at Harbor Freight) Just something for future ref. I enjoy your channel a ton!! So maybe its " Ben Mall Orange" as opposed to "Scoutcrafter Red"
Those turned out great. I for one, think it is wise to walk away from problem projects...the shop should be a fun place, not a place to do battle 🤣. Anyhow, you prevailed, nice job. Cheers
Don’t sell yourself short mate. They look really good to me. I did some too, some of my early Instagram projects and they aren’t right either but I’m happy with them.
Very entertaining work Ben! A nice plus to the " Lowes had some orange ", besides giving me to chuckle, is you'll always know that's your pipe wrench wherever you see it. Most of my tools have purple handles because its the cheapest paint at Dollar General.
I haven't been watching your videos for a while (damn you, RUclips algorithm) and I realise I miss them. Thank you for a most relaxing and satisfying episode! All the best
Sometimes it good to quit for awhile. I have a tendency to keep trying even when things go wrong and it can lead to me sending the tool flying across the room. Then I wish I had just walked away.
Hello from the South Pole. I don’t have any pipe wrenches here because all pipes freeze and burst. All pipes are plastic. My wife calls me stupid because of all the burst pipes and I can’t explain, she won’t listen.
The lighting on your videos is great - almost a sepia tone at times, too. Works really well with the cool piano jazz. I almost expect you to bust out some Scott Joplin ragtime soon! Enjoyed the longer clip. You did an excellent job on the pin. Looks factory. Also, I have a similar color paint: it’s called “ Ace had some” orange. It’s on the shelf right next to the ScoutCrafter red ;)
Great job, Ben! I love them in that shade of orange! Those pins are a menace to work with. I used a nut and screw on a large one I redid. Works fine. Thanks for posting!
Nice job Ben. Those wrenches are worth revisiting. I think I have a couple cans of that Lowe's had some orange....honestly I have never found the exact ridgid color anywhere except on new ones.
They look good to me. I have restored about 10 Ridgid wrenches. I give them as gifts and they are very appreciated. I use a Chevrolet Orange Paint that is actually red-orange.
Your video made me run to my Rigid wrenches- 6", 8' (slightly different design) and 12". I'm not sure but I believe the 6" was used on oil burner fittings. Those that are painted are not orange but red. I don't know if the color change is indicative of a certain age of manufacturing.
"There IS something awesome about a big ball peen hammer." True words my friend. Wish I'd figure that out when I was 14. And that orange is perfect. Thanks for another great video.
Great work Ben, those wrenches turned out looking good, I'm glad you decided to revisit them, I know it's easy to get discouraged or feel like quitting when things don't work out as intended the difference between those that succeed and those that fail is getting back in the fight, it's easy to give up but the taste of defeat is bitter, success is sweet.
So enjoyable! I for one like that color... did you clear coat it? It sure looks great! Nice fix with the pin... I hate peening pins myself... excellent job Mr. Ben... and in my neck of the woods.. appreciate ya very much is correct 🤠👍 so is thank ya much... at least I think so...
Interesting you should ask. After publishing the video, I went outside and put some clear coat on. It destroyed the finish. Not sure what happened but it need to be redone now. I'm just glad I finished the video before I did that. ARGGH Thanks for watching, Vic.
@@mrbenmall oh no! Dang i hate hearing this t.. I have had clear do that to my stuff before... my base coat wasnt dry enough and it melts it away... which I use that to my advantage when I dip my handles in the in the paint...then hang to dry.. this gives them that slick smooth finish.. tuff luck mr. Ben!
Hi Ben! I believe every tool restoration enthusiast should restore at least one Ridgid Wrench. They are such fantastic tools that are made to last a lifetime. Great job!
Thanks John. They are pretty solid, for sure.
A Ridgid pipe wrench is about as indestructable as a tool can be. Thanks to you, they also look better .Very nice job.
Thanks Pat. That's true!
"Nice and oily." Works for wrenches. Not so much for potato chips. Thanks, Ben for another fun video!
Good one. Thanks!
i am 55 still get stuck and caught up get pissed off i have to walk away and come back you did a great job thanks for going back to them
Thanks Dee
You know things are serious when Ben Breaks Out *The Fake*
TWICE! LOL Yes, I'm learning that I need some hardened steel tools to go with it. Thanks RB

Sounds like Portland Oregon. I used to live there. They paint houses in some crazy colors. Thanks Bill
They look awesome! Halloween orange! I’m happy to know someone else knows Mr. Frustration….he visits my workshop frequently! Great video Ben!
He's got his own parking space here. Thanks John
Nice orange Ben , well done , came out really well 🔧🔧👍👍
Thanks Jim

Thanks Jeff
They came out great Ben! I think the Lowes had some orange looks good!
I kinda like it too. Except it reminds me a bit too much of Home Depot.
“ everyday in ever way I,m getting better and better “ ….your back Ben’o…on the up ……Luvin it …Good Luck Peter P
Thanks Peter!
What a nice looking set, Thanks for a great video Ben 🛠️👍😊
Thank you Sparky

Thanks Joe. With that philosophy in mind, I'm planning on buying an AC for the garage next spring.
Great job Ben! No need to apologize, "Lowe's Had Some" orange looks really good.
Thanks Rick
Great job and video and I love the music 🎵 thanks for sharing your time 🍺🍺👍👍
Thank you for watching, Brian.
We all get frustrated, quit, and (sometimes) start again. We just don't tell. Great work picking it up again!
Thank you Alex

Great video Ben! You did a awesome job!! Thank You for sharing.
Thanks Jack
We appreciate you very much too!
I believe that shade of orange, is mall orange, and a lot easier to find in the toolbox! Enjoy the videos!
LOL. Working on another pipe wrench now and will likely use that same orange! Thanks Lyle
Very entertaining work Ben! A nice plus to the " Lowes had some orange ", besides giving me to chuckle, is you'll always know that's your pipe wrench wherever you see it. Most of my tools have purple handles because its the cheapest paint at Dollar General.
Ah... "Dollar General Had Some" purple. Sounds lovely.
LOL Thanks Wade

Shame on you, RUclips! 😃
Good job Ben. You make me keep going and not giving up. Thanks
Thanks Glen
keep moving forward...it will get better, as it has already...txs for sharing
Thanks Tom
A wrench is a wrench but it's your spin on it that makes it...😆
Thanks Chuck!
Hi Ben great job. 👏👍🇺🇸
Thanks EV
Sometimes it good to quit for awhile. I have a tendency to keep trying even when things go wrong and it can lead to me sending the tool flying across the room. Then I wish I had just walked away.
Thanks Greg. Yes, I'm great at walking away.
Nice job on them Ben back in service and look good hanging up by the bench
Thanks Larry

Thanks t99. Sorry about your pipes.
Nice work! Good to see you back.
Thanks Bob
Great job Ben! Love that urnge color. 😀
Thanks Stan
Great finish, always remember it takes a big hammer to drive a big nail 😜
Or to mash a pin. Thanks David
Lovely colour, they match the vice I restored.
Thank you!

It was worth going back and finishing the restoration
Thank you David

If the pin didn't work, that was going to be my next step. Had one laid aside and everything.
Thanks Tom.
Great restoration!
Thanks!
Lowe's had some orange. That's perfect lol.
Thanks (for getting my humor) Jason
Nicely done Ben! Remember, if you can’t do it fast at least do it half fast. 😬👍🏼
Love it. Thanks David
Great job Ben! Keep up the good work! I love that shade of orange
Thanks Christopher!
I like the color! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Tony!
Great job! Love those wrenches, don’t see them very often over here in Sweden
Thanks Tobias. Greetings from across the ocean!

I bought it at auto parts store.
Cracking job Ben.. They look awesome
Thanks Mark!
Nice job on the set. Good pin fix.
Thanks Michael. (secret: there were several other attempts that simply made the video too long to include)
They came out amazing Ben!
Thanks BBHiker!
Love the color.
It sure is orange. Thanks Sal
Nice job on the wrenches Ben.
Thanks Peter

The Ridgid color is a very orange-y red or a very redish orange. I knew this wasn't right when I bought it but what the heck.
Thanks Fred.
Those darn kids. I have to blame the dog.
Truth be told, she probably bought it for me in the first place. (bet your dog can't do that) LOL
Thanks Lyndon
