Mr. Ben, I make that clear on not dry enough paint mistake often... I have the patience of a fox in a chicken house... But man, it looked like you were enjoying the process...and I seen a lot of great ideas that might come in handy! great looking results! thanks for sharing!
Ben, I am glad I found your channel. I appreciate your trials and tribulations in the tool restoration hobby. Experience is a valuable commodity. You’ll get better. As for painting the spaceships, use blue tape to mask off the ship to get good pinstripes. Never give up. Never surrender! Keep up the good work.
Well that looked like a fun project. I liked your shot from underneath looking up at you while you were sanding! It is always fun to see creative perspectives like that! 😎👍
Hey Ben, what did you mean don’t expect something great at the end? You knocked it out of the park! What a awesome project. Keep it up and keep those videos coming! Thank You for sharing!!!
What a great project! The shape of that tool looks so ergonomic, it's funny how things like that happen some time by accident. Ben I know I have said this before but now you really are starting to have fun in the shop! Every project we do is practice, eventually we get to the point where we have practiced enough that the pucker factor is low. =D Funny story- I used to own a 1951 Pontiac and here in NY you can register old plates from that year if they are in good ORIGINAL shape, no restorations. I had a pair of '51 plates in the garage that belonged to my grandfather so I wanted to use them but they were super rusted. I restored them and knowing the DMV would fail me if the plates looked new I crinkled the paint with a heavy coat of clear and the plates looked 50 years old! It worked! =D
Now your cooking !!! Held my attention the whole time even through the epoxy volcano…😂 I had no idea what you were up to till the end…that paint job mistakenly turned out great you now know how to put on a textured painted grip and looks good too…this is the more I was hinting to….😉……🖖🏻
That was Extremely Fun to Watch and I'm sure your had a Hundred Times More Fun actually doing it than I did watching..........You've convinced me I need to get some Rasp/Carving Wheels for my Angle Grinder, that one you have was rather impressive.
It was one stroke of genius after another! It came out perfect! I like how the red is textured! That used to be what they called a crinkle finish on many lines of sewing machines way back when! They paid extra for it! I think you should leave it!
I had my doubts, unfounded as they were, this project turned out beautifully. I should know better than to doubt you my friend, fine work and creative.
GREAT, GREAT Video. The table leg trick is perfect. You have a very creative mind.... Looks like the handle fits your hand like a glove. The 'crinkle paint' is a happy accident. If it dried like that it will add to the 'grip factor'. You may want to turn it into an awl (pointy thing). Do you do the piano background music??? Michael from Canada
Thank you Michael. No I don't play the piano that well. I acquire production music from RUclips and other outside vendors ($$) so that I can legally use it in my videos. I like the piano style with the visuals. But I must admit I get tired of using the same cuts - so then I buy more.
Ben, I love your approach to an idea like this. You boldly start doing it and are patient and disciplined enough to halt until you’re ready to finish it! It will be a great little driver!
@@mrbenmall Back in the early 1980's we took a trip to Canada. One of the few things I bought was a set of Robertson screwdrivers because I had newer seen that type of screwdriver before. I have used them a few times over the years.
Looks great Ben. Love a fun project! I’ve done many projects that I convinced myself was going to be a “prototype” when I started with no plan, but amazingly some of them ended up as favorites. Thanks sir!
It's production music that I purchased ($$) to use in videos. I have bought several tracks and I also sometimes use similar selections from the RUclips production library available to content creators. Thanks Dan.
I saw a fan in the background. How long ago did you do this project? Is it still hot there? We just had our first snow of the season Monday. No real accumulation, just a little on top of the cars. Though it is supposed to be in the 70's this weekend!
It's been in the 90s but on Tuesday we had a cold front blow in. Got in the 60s. Everyone wore jackets. I live in McAllen Texas where it's always hot and never (or rarely ever) snows. Today it should be beautiful with temps in the mid 80s. (California weather!)
That look great and it also was a great and original idea on the handle! Ive never seen anyone do it that way before adding a little meat to the bone so to speak. You probably just started a new trend! Where did you find such a wide fiber wheel? I like that a lot too!
Great job Benny!! It's all about having fun!! Glue a 1/4" socket on the end, then you could use any type screw bit ya want!!☻
Thanks RoadKing!
No truer words have ever been uttered.
Why because I want too!
You do you…
Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks David!

That handle came out great! You looked like you were having fun!
Made a mess, but yes it was fun! Thanks Magdad!

Glad you liked that. I was worried about my iPhone 13 while doing that one. But it was fine.

Boy Ben, didn’t know quite where this was going, but it turned out fantastic! What a great idea!
Glad you enjoyed it John!

I got that rasp wheel at Harbor Freight I think. Good luck!
Strange how satisfying it can be to spend hours on a very small tool. Good video. Thanks Ben.
Thanks Paul!
You are very wise. I know for a fact that rushing that profile is a recipe for disaster. That was a treat to watch, excellent work. Cheers
Thank you Joe!

Thanks Bill. (I probably will leave it)
Ben, fun video. Remember, “The Journey is the Reward!” Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Thomas!
Fun in the shop! I think it came out pretty good. The roughed up paint gives gripping power. Thanks
True. THanks Tony!
You did a great job! Looks cool.
Thank you Rob!
I had my doubts, unfounded as they were, this project turned out beautifully. I should know better than to doubt you my friend, fine work and creative.
Doubt away. That's always a safe bet when I'm in the shop. THanks!
Looks like a great, fun project. I’m sure you had as much fun doing it as we did watching you. 👌
Thank you Shed Man. I did have fun!

It turned out great, Ben. I actually like the texture on the handle.
Nice reference to J.J.!
Thanks Wingnut! (I'm a movie nerd)
That turned out great Ben. Your imagination is inspiring.
Thank you Rick!
The tip is almost like a clutch head driver. Great job.You put alot of work into that project.
I should make it a Robertson head... but it's hard to find those screws here in the US. Thanks Chuck!

Hey Ben! I really liked that camera angle from underneath while you were sanding on the drill press! Great video !
Thanks. Glad you liked it!
Great to know when to stop, tanks for sharing...
Thank you Tom!
So you're making handles now! It looks great too.
Thank you Wade!

What was the music track? Not only a great end product but I dug jamming out the whole time!

What a great way to try a bunch of new ways to do things.
It turned out great and was fun to watch, nice job!
Thanks, B!
Nice Referbish - Job Ben, I dig it! ...Newk from Kentucky
Thanks Newk!
Great idea and execution Ben!
Thanks JA!
Careful, you’re in danger of getting good at this. Well done!!!
Thanks AP!
Creative - great project! All my bad screwdrivers become punches and awls, not much skill on my part. 😁
Me too. I have a collection of ice picks!
This is a cool imaginative project! Is there a way you can add something to the tip so it will accept interchangeable bits? That would be neat.
I wish... but I don't think I can. THanks Paul!
Ben, I see that you are using the pump super glue container. I find those to be the only containers that don't dry out. Nice job.
Yes, I love the gel aspect of it. Thanks William.
Good job Ben! Show the finished project when you can
Will do. Thanks Jeff!
It's not a mistake I like texture of red after clear looks it feels great in the hand
Thanks Larry!
put a bit tip on it and use multiple things. awesome show
Wouldn't that be a skill! Thanks Stew.
looks like a fun job,
Thanks James. It was.
Awesome Ben.
Thanks Cliff!
Hello Ben, the screwdriver looks great !! (Is good to be Unique) 👍🇨🇱
Thanks EV!
looks great ... what are the dimensions on the handle?
Thanks! It's 5" long, 1.5" wide at the base, .75" wide at the top.
JMHO, but I think you should make the Phillips! Auction them off for charity or something!
Thanks! I don't think I could profile a phillips. I did it once and got lucky.
