I haven't bought any of the Bombay Mahogany yet. I bought this gel stain and have been quite pleased with its ease of application. The PolyShades appears to be more difficult to apply. I will eventually give it a shot. Thanks Stan!
That turned out as a sweet hammer. It would be great for building miniature items, like Doll Houses, small boxes, Model Train buildings/structures....MAYBE even the spaceship toolbox?
That seemed like a fun project Ben, so glad that you were pleased with the result, as you should be, that gel stain made all the difference ! I'm all too familiar with that oops, something smells of burning moment, some wood just demands more care and respect ! Cheers, AndyC.
Hey Ben, I’ve seen you use your belt sander on a few projects now. In a future video can you show how you get it mounted upside down to use? It is a great idea and would like to do something similar with mine. Thanks
Unfortunately, the sander I purchase is no longer available on Amazon. It was called "TACKLIFE Belt Sander 3×18-Inch" and it was designed to use either way. The top is flat and it came with two clamps so you can affix it to a bench as I did. I specifically bought that one because of that feature. I don't know what to tell you other than good luck. I hope you can find something similar. THanks!
Very nice...like seeing you tackle new stuffff...🖖
Thanks Chuck!
Nicely done Ben, the handle you made looks like it is very comfortable. Fun project!
Thanks John!
You did such a nice job on that hammer, you upgraded your junk drawer.
Yes! Thanks Larry!
Nice work again! Handy Dandy Hammer now.

Sweet! It looks great! It was fun to watch that come together!
Glad you liked it, Bill!
Turned out great. Those small hammers are perfect for some jobs. Keep it handy and you will use it more often then your bigger hammers.
I will! Thanks Rusty Guy!
That is the kind of unique handle it needed. Good job!
Thank you Paintnamer!
Nicely done. Those small 8 or 10 ounce hammers sometimes come in handy with brads and tiny nails. Good to have one in the shop.
Yes they often do the trick. Thanks Paul!
Great mod Ben - putting a wood handle on it! Love your music!
Thanks Merlin!
Ben that hammer came out great! The handle is a big improvement to that rubber handle ever was!
Thanks Stephen!
I like that handle, looks quite nice!
Thank you Bob!
Good job Ben!
Thank you Doug!
Very cool! That belt sander really did a number on removing the extra material...wow. Excellent work! Cheers
Thanks Joe!
That turned out as a sweet hammer. It would be great for building miniature items, like Doll Houses, small boxes, Model Train buildings/structures....MAYBE even the spaceship toolbox?
It's on my inside workbench as we speak. Thanks Bill!
Better than new! Looks great great! Love the way that handle came out.
Thanks Val!
Wow I like it . Very good job. You turned a hammer that would normally go to the bottom of the tool box to top shelf. Thanks
Thanks Glen!
Look at you go! Great job Ben, you are really getting good.
Thank you Tc!
get a fire extinguisher, great Caesar Ghost you like your results...tanks for sharing
Thanks Tom!
You made it look easy, getting those two deep holes just right would probably take me ten tries and ten pieces of wood.
That was the part I was most worried about. Thanks RB.
Man that hammer has had a rough life. Nice work in restoring functionality Ben.
I think so. Thanks Michael!
Very nicely done Ben! Bonus: stuff learning! 😃👍🏼
Exactly. Thanks David!
What a resurrection! The type of tool no-one would be inclined to bring back to life is now back in service, and looking better than when it was new.
Thanks Troon54!
Great job. 3 thumbs up.
Three? Thank you Chuck!
@@mrbenmall It would have been four, but I hit my thumb with a hammer.
I think you need to make a whole set of tools just like that! The more wood the better!
Thanks Greg!
Awesome job Ben!!!!!
I really enjoyed the video and what you did with the hammer. Bravo 👏🏻 Thank You for sharing!
Thank you Jack!
Great job Ben. The handle came out very nice.
Thank you Frank!
looks fantastic, for a moment i thought you were going to shorten the handle by an inch or two. i must be watching too many scoutcrafter videos. 😀
LOL. Not this one. Thanks Chkzombi
More shiny tools! Love your choice of music. Very nice job on the wood handle. I'd say you nailed it!
Thank you Gail.

You got that right, Andy. I'm so used to working with pine 2x4s, the oak is a whole different beast. Thanks!
I though you lost it at one point with the epoxy messing up the open end of the handle. But I was happy to see the finished product turned out great!
Yeah, that epoxy is hard to figure (qty & viscosity). Thanks Graham!
My Sweetie has one like that with a black handle and knows better than to turn me loose with it. GOOD job, pal and BLESSINGS 2 U!
Burnimg diesel and big hammers
Thanks Lewie!
@@mrbenmall Sure thing!
@@OldSneelock Right-O!
Outstanding plan and execution Ben.
The wood is beautiful. Nicely finished and the shape is excellent. 😁😎
2nd this.
Thank you very much!
Thanks Lewie!
@@mrbenmall Likewise!
It's not a junk tool now. Really good project, enjoy your channel .
Thank you Rudy! I'm so glad you like it!
Ben,
Nice job! Didn't you restore a spoke shave not too lon ago! This would have been a perfect project for a spoken shave or a draw knife.
Bob
I did... but I didn't find a true blade for it. I'm afraid it wouldn't have worked. Thanks Bob!
That is a first class upgrade! Great job, Ben.
Thanks Paul!
Nice Job! I especially liked the how the color turned out!
Thanks Rick!
Nice work! Hammer turned out great!
Those are some intense drill bits. They should be pretty handy.
Thanks Wingnuts!
Learning Stuff and having fun doing it works for me Ben, great job 👏
Thanks James!
Ben this came out brilliant , that stain is sooo hard to predict how it'll finish , but love the way it came out !
I've used that gel stain twice now. So far, I love the results. Thanks Jim!
They’re getting better and better Ben….keep it up buddy…Scoutcrafter is gonna have to watch his back….🤣🤣
HA! Thanks Nick. That'll be the day.
Ben, that turned out nice. Well done. Nice corner vise, buy the way.
Thanks 👍
Very satisfying project and nicely done.
Thank you Tony!
#learningstuff
That’s great.
Thanks David!
Turned out great Ben! Maybe you should mass produce them?
Never! Oh man that would be a lot of work. Thanks Jeff!
Go Ben, Go! Wow! Very nice job. You've come a l o n g WAYYYYYY. I like it!
Thanks Carl!
Nice job …looks great
Thank you Jerry!
Very well done Ben!
Thanks John!
The hammer looks great. Maybe you could drill a couple holes and add some brass pins for mechanical support. Great job though.
That would be a good idea. Especially if the hammer saw much use. Thanks John!
Ben, I am thinking you are being to becoming a wood worker. Looks fantastic!
I do like how wood whittles down much faster than metal!
Man, I was kinda hope’n that hammer was a little bent and we could see every body’s favorite, the”Fake” in action😁
It'll be coming up. I have an odd thing I'm going to work on next and the Fake will be in service. Thanks PaPaw!
